Had to be patient & wait for my sons size to come back into stock.. eventually they did & ordered them to be delivered to my local store. They arrived alot quicker than expected & my son absolutely adores his new boots but my only gripe ( & it was exactly the same as last year with an equally expensive pair of footie boots) is that the they box that they arrive in is absolutely battered. Ripped, crushed & bent. Its a teal shame that this keeps happening because my son likes to keep them in the boxes but it just looks horrible & unsightly. You would think paying £250 for a pair of boots that u would at least get something nice to keep them in.

The Nike Vapor 14 Elite is an impressively lightweight cleat designed for speed and ball control. It is one of the more minimalist shoes I have worn during games and it is built to fit like a glove. I normally wear a men’s size 11 shoe and that is the size I ordered. For the Nike Vapor 14 Elite, I think a size 10 would have placed the studs in a more optimal position and been a better fit. Still, the thin plastic mesh material and lack of tongue is designed to give a sock feel which was surprisingly comfortable. The shoe felt one with my foot the moment I put it on. These shoes look amazing and perform well on the pitch. At first, they took some time to break in and are definitely very tight around the arch. For controlling the ball this is ideal however it took some time for them to break in. They are easy to put on and take off, but once they are on your foot is secure and in place. The stud pattern feels quite aggressive and made me feel like I had an extra millisecond exploding forward. In addition, I felt that the stud length was slightly longer than other cleats I have previously used and I find it to be helpful when playing in thick grass or turf. Another thing that I have been surprised by is that even after most likely 20-25 wears and each wear for about 2 hours the cleats have almost zero signs of wear or distress. The upper is still perfectly glued to the outsole, the upper it’s self has no scratches or marks, the only thing that I have noticed is that the little sticker at the top of the tongue has lifted slightly in the middle only on the right cleat, but this is an extremely minimal detail that should say a lot about the quality and just how good they are. Another thing is that the cleats are super easy to clean, with just a wet rag or napkin any mud or dirt I’ve had on the boots just wipes right off without having to scrub or anything. Continuing, a small detail that many people might not think about is the insole and how it pairs with different kinds of socks and I have found that after using multiple different kinds of socks my foot never feels like it’s slipping or moving around in the cleat at all and as a bonus the insole adds an extra cushion of comfort while your just standing still. I’ve also found that striking the ball while shooting, passing, crossing, or just juggling the boot has a smooth and sharp feel and I’m able to feel the ball perfectly almost as if I was bare footed.Overall, I have come to love the Mercurial vapor 14’s as a person that hasn’t worn a pair of Vapors since the vapor 10 it is safe to say that I am one hundred percent back to the vapor line.
