Good cross training shoe. I find the back of the shoe a little bit low. Could be 1cm higher. It is nice that they give you heel inserts to give you a slight heel lift for doing things like squats. Only downside is I'm not a huge fan of the rubber colour coming up so high on the side. I like that it does come up that high to make the shoe more durable but they should've coloured it differently.

I've been doing Crossfit for almost 7 years and this is my first pair of Nikes. I've been a hardcore Reebok wearer until now (Nano 2, 3, 7, 8, and lifter). I finally decided to try the Metcon 6 because it had a lot of great reviews and is a great looking shoe. I was a little concerned about them being more narrow than Reeboks, but these are fine. No issues for me and I think I have a medium width foot, maybe even slightly wide. I wear an 11.5 in both Reebok and Nike. I've been wearing these for a few weeks now exclusively in the gym and have done various squats, cleans, snatches, jerks, burpees, rowing, and double unders in them. I haven't had a chance to try them out on a rope climb and haven't run in them yet, but I think they'll be good with the huge rope grip ... MoreI've been doing Crossfit for almost 7 years and this is my first pair of Nikes. They definitely have a different feel to them than my Nano 8s, but I think I'm going to continue to like them as they break in more. You'll definitely notice they're loud to walk in if you're used to Reeboks, but that's not an issue for me.

So glad these are still available, and on sale. Very stable lifting shoe that leaves your feet feeling planted for heavy squats and such. But the trade off is they are a tad heavy, and clunky for running. Ah well, can't be great at everything!

If there was only one pair of shoes I had to use for everything I do at the gym it would be a pair of Metcons. Unfortunately the same is absolutely not true for more focused and heavy leg or posterior chain work. The removable insole is easily squished by ones fingers, and the inserts that go under it are barely any harder. This means the shoes will provide more of an angled cushion than angled platform which makes them poorly suited to even moderately heavy loads. I haven't experimented with where exactly the "line" seems to be, but if I had to guess I would say if its too much more than "WOD Weight" the change in ankle angle may not be worth the trade off in stability.Summary:For most people I cannot recommend these highly enough.Anyone hoping to only need one pair of shoes for their Powerlifting is going to be disappointed. The insert is a nice idea, but its far too soft. I still keep a pair of hard sole squat shoes around for leg days, but for everything else I do i'm wearing a pair of these.
I like it, I been using for heavy squat training Hiit, ST Insanity workout and T25. Support my feet and knees for those tuck jumps. Good cushioning at the heel AND front of feet also room to spread my toes. I like the plastic wedges for squats to go a bit deeper. Breathable fabric. Wish I found these later. I hope ASOS sales more of Metcon shoes in the future.
Brought it primarily as an overall training shoe so I didn't have to switch out shoes when squatting, deadlifting etc. Doesn't really feel like a lifter on squats even with the inserts, but still very stable and enough heel lift to allow additional ankle dorsiflexion. I use it without the insoles when sumo deadlifting and it honestly feels better than my chucks. It's a slighter wider fit than the chucks but with better lateral support. Quite a decent shoe for short runs on the treadmill as well. As an overall trainer if you're not totally dependent on lifters for squats and minimal shoes for deadlifts they are amazing. In my opinion they're also the best looking trainers, I prefer the low profile look of the Metcons versus the Nano X.
Nike are my go to trainer. I bought these after returning to crossfit. They look good and make my size 9 feet look smaller than they are. They are 4 star as I find them quite expensive for what they are but they are flat enough and flexible enough for most exercise. I wouldn't feel too confident with running in them as there isn't much cushioning but for every other exercise they are up to the task. They come with a little heel insert for deadlifts and squats etc. I haven't tried these out as I find it impractical to go and put these in and out but it's an additional feature if that's your thing.
This is my second pair of Metcons and there are several improvements in this shoe that I really like. My last pair was the 4 and the upper material on these is so much nicer. The material is more flexible and breathable and less plasticy so out of the box the break in time feels pretty short. The sole also comes up a good bit higher on the sides which is nice for things like rope climbs. The shoe also comes with a lifting insert that I have yet to try but an interested in checking out. If nothing else it's a nice thoughtful bonus.
I have owned almost every pair of metcons. yet, they all have some and more heal play mostly 3s and now 6s prolly the worst some play in the 5. Reading a few other reviews this seems to be not just me.Pros: They very nice looking, stylish clean design. The foam inserts are very well made and engineered to handle the weight and more on the ball of your foot while tapering to lighter texture in the toe box. The exterior is very robust and rubber is soft high grip. Your feet can breath like no other since its very thin and covered in mesh. Great shoe if you have wide feet. Comes with optional 8mm heel Insert which can be great for squats. Uses mostly indoor gyms and squat racks, tread running.Cons: Price is pretty high for what your getting. Shoe is literally thin ... MoreI have owned almost every pair of metcons. yet, they all have some and more heal play mostly 3s and now 6s prolly the worst some play in the 5. Shoe is literally thin mesh in the toe box. The shoe is very stiff 3/4 the way to the toe box while making the hinge point very loose can be a bad thing applying a lot of pressure to areas front of the foot. Heal slip is a big problem may or may not be how stiff the rear of the shoe is. Probably not a great outdoor shoe as I can see small rocks getting in the mesh and definitely nothing wet. Metcons life with most use indoors last about a year with little outdoor use.Overall It’s a decent indoor shoe that looks stylish and somewhat practical. Most likely get the same if not better results out of a $40 pair of chucks.
The metcon 6 is easily my favorite workout shoes. It's perfect for cross training and even lifting. It's ultra comfortable and your feet will thank you for it's breathable design. The included heel lifts are great for when you squat for added stability.
