Honestly, thee best Metcon so far. Admittedly, I found these awful and plain looking initially. After finally purchasing, I was silenced when I realized the true quality of this shoe.
Heavy lifts, circuits, and daily use; this model has covered it all. Smooth while walking and handling daily tasks, yet sturdy for crossfit, but grounded for compound
movements. The amount of detail that has gone into the look… shockingly left it looking very simple from far away. Yet the closer you look at the shoe the more you notice.
Well done. Best Metcon yet.

Have always loved Nikes and they are always comfortable. The Metcon 9 just isn’t. The ankle slot is too far back so my ankle is constantly rubbing against the shoe. The “air
cushion” in the heel is not a cushion. It’s hard plastic with ZERO give. Wide toebox is nice, and the shoe looks cool, but even walking in this shoe is no fun because the
ankle/heel/back section of the shoe is so stiff. I wear these for lifting, but not much else…and I don’t look forward to putting them on. Even after breaking in they aren’t getting
better. Am almost to the point of just donating them and buying something else.

Great for looks, not for sports

The shoes are attractive. I received multiple unsolicited comments about how cool they looked. I have a wide foot and these shoes felt very accommodating. They are
somewhat stiff with less padding than I would have preferred on the sides and bottom- could probably benefit from a gel insert. The rubber on the sole of the shoe felt a little
stiff and was a little noisier on hard surfaces than a typical sneaker. The shoes felt a little more like a dress sneaker than a sports sneaker. I wouldn’t have wanted to run in
them or participate in a sport while wearing them. That said, my feet did not hurt wearing them and didn’t irritate my ankles or toes. These shoes would be a go... Show more

Great for training
5 November 2023
Happy with the purchase. The width is sufficient, which is very unlike Nike. I usually wear a 9.5 US size, and Nike shoes often require going up by 1/2 or 1 size. However feel like Metcon 9 has a wide fit, and it's perfect for my 9.5 size. It has perfect features, flat and hard outsole for weightlifting and heel support feels better than other brands. Great for my gym and crossfit sessions. Awesome quality and value.... Show more

Metcon 8 vs 9
4 May 2024
I purchased the metcon 9 over the 8 due to price and availability so we will see how these hold up. Originally bought two pair of the metcon 8's each lasting six months before a hole would form in the middle front and the material on the heel started to come off. Also the 8's had an issue of the sole separating from the shoe in the front so I wanted to give the 9's a chance to see if they hold up a little longer. I'm a delivery driver for fedex so I'm on my feet up to 15 miles a day, 10+ hours a day so my shoes see a lot of use. I understand people typically use these shoes for just running or working out and if that's the case they may last substantially longer. Overall I continue to buy these shoes because they are the most comfortable shoes compared to all the ... MoreI purchased the metcon 9 over the 8 due to price and availability so we will see how these hold up. Metcon getting it right again
13 September 2024
I've work metcons for years and last few generations of them have been subpar so I swapped back to Reebok. Saw these and figured I'd give one more shot. Thank you Nike for getting this hair back in the right direction. Solid foot bed, very stable, dog the laces holder. Only complaint is the top eyelet areas are very rigid which can get uncomfortable at times. Hoping a few more workouts break that in.... Show more

Solid, comfortable at-home gym shoe
24 July 2023
I am primarily a runner (3-5 runs/10 miles per week) who is looking to get in some additional at-home cardio and strength training, and needed a solid shoe to help get me through backyard and basement workouts (primarily HIIT). The Nike Metcon 9 fit the bill. I expect a lot out of my shoes, and sometimes struggle to find something that balances comfort with strength. After a few weeks wearing these regularly, I think I've found a middle ground. It's so much different from the running shoes I'm used to working out in, and provides a lot more support than I was expecting. The wide base would likely work for someone with a wider foot, but the low cut keeps the shoes from feeling bulky. I felt confident going 110% in these shoes, and they held up to the intensity I ... MoreI am primarily a runner (3-5 runs/10 miles per week) who is looking to get in some additional at-home cardio and strength training, and needed a solid shoe to help get me through backyard and basement workouts (primarily HIIT). They look exactly as I expected them to when I ordered them.OTHER NOTES: I would not recommend these shoes for running due to the flat bottom. These are best for gym workouts.... Show more
