I've ran three times in these shoes so far. The first two were both five mile runs. They felt good. However, when I went on a longer run, I started to get foot pain and my feet just felt tired around mile 6. I think these would be greatly improved if the upper had regular tongue and laces. Unlike most running shoes, the laces on these shoes don't really do much. Because there is no tongue, it makes it harder to tighten the shoes, which left my feet feeling a bit loose in the shoe, especially around the ankle area. I have narrow feet as it is, and these felt a bit wide throughout the shoe, especially in the ankle area. I'm hoping the next version of these shoes has a regular tongue/laces so there is a more locked down feel in the heel area. Great lightweight, cushioned stability shoe
13 April 2020

After reading so much about this new shoe from Nike, I decided I would try these out instead of buying another pair of my "old faithfuls"- Brooks Adrenaline for doing my long, easy training runs. I never wanted anything to do with Nike until I finally caved and bought the Vaporfly's for racing and it was a game changer. The React Infinity is surprisingly light. The arch support felt almost invasive at first but once I started running it was bouncy and cushioned and did not bother me at all. I would definitely not use this shoe for speed workouts because it's just a little too bouncy and Nike doesn't recommend them for that either. My legs honestly feel energized when I wear these on my runs. My legs honestly feel energized when I wear these on my runs. Due to COVID, I have been doing most of my running on my treadmill and have noticed minimal wear on the soles after a total of 50 miles. Perhaps it would be a different story when doing more runs on pavement as Nikes are known for faster wear and tear. Overall, I a very happy with this shoe. The only problem is the feeling of a heel slip with the flyknit material I do not feel like I can lace the shoe to tighten the heel. I have read similar reviews on both the women and men version of this shoe so I know it's not just me having this problem. 4/5 stars because of the heel slip and priced too high. Will consider another pair if I can get them on sale.

I would not but these again-not the best quality
5 October 2022

These shoes are not that comfortable and they squeak. There is nothing more annoying than shoes that make noise every time you take a step. This makes me think they compromised the quality and used cheap glue. I only wear these for indoors gym activities. They are not comfortable running shoes. They squeaked when I bought them and still after owning them for 2 years. Not a fan.

Overhyped! Runs small, uncomfortable uppers
8 March 2021

I usually wear 7.5-8, and bought this in a size 8. This shoe was way too tight on me, and a little short in length too. I thought the knit upper would be soft, stretchy, comfy and mold to my feet. My puma knit sneakers are that way. THESE ARE NOT IT! The uppers were stiff and tight and the most uncomfortable thing I have tried in a sneaker. I really wanted to like them, tried different socks, but could only bare to even walk in these when I was barefoot. It's such a shame too, because I can feel the superior quality of the sole and arch support. I'm not sure of there was a way to make it work for me. I have slightly wider feet, that are not particularly thick in the vertical direction (from sole to dorsum). WOW. Best Running Shoe I've Bought In YEARS
22 January 2020

I've been running now for over 40 years and after some experimenting, stuck with either the Asics Gel Kayano or a stability Mizuno. I tried a Nike once (I think it was an Air Pegasus a very long time ago) and after just one run hated it and went back to the Gel Kayano. My son only wears leBron basketball shoes so I get regular emails from Nike who sent me one about this shoe. The design and thought process behind the React Infinity really intrigued me... a shoe that could actually cut down on injury? I've been lucky about staying relatively healthy considering the number of miles I've put on my body but I have had to deal with Plantar fasciitis, heel spurs and strained my Achilles so badly once I had to stop running for about 6 months. I've been lucky about staying relatively healthy considering the number of miles I've put on my body but I have had to deal with Plantar fasciitis, heel spurs and strained my Achilles so badly once I had to stop running for about 6 months. So, a shoe that could help prevent all those nasty things that makes runners take a break? I had to try it. This morning was my first run with this shoe. It felt great right out of the box. I usually get the custom insoles at the Roadrunner store but I won't be needing them for these shoes. They are just perfect. I have a high arch and the shoe has the perfect amount of support and my feet felt like they were being gently hugged but with ample room in the toe box. I even felt lighter on my feet and had a smooth, even stride. I usually buy a full size larger than my regular shoe size with Asics or Mizuno but half a size up was fine with this Nike shoe. The Roadrunner video about this shoe states that it could be either a neutral or stability. I only run in stability and I felt there was ample support and cushioning. Of course the jury is definitely still out regarding injury prevention but if this morning's run is any indication, Nike really has a winner with the React Infinity and runners will rejoice at steering clear of those nasty things that keep us off the road!

Wonderful shoe for walking/running
29 March 2020

I am getting over a calf injury and have been wearing these shoes to walk/run short distances in. I haven't taken them out for a long run yet but they are insanely comfortable. The fit is unique with the midfoot tapering in. If you have wide arches it may irritate your arches but I have very thin and narrow feet. The toe box and heel being wider makes the shoe feel very stable. I don't feel like I will twist my ankle even when doing lateral movements. The only downside is the laces don't lace tight and the upper seems kind of cheap. The sock-like design makes this okay, but the plastic eyelets dig into the top of my foot if I try to lace them as tight as I like. The back of the shoe does not rub my ankle and feels very nice and secure. The toe off is very smooth and they don't slip on the ground. These are also very comfortable to wear for elliptical/stairmaster/cross training.Really recommend these for recovery runs or just a good shoe that can do a lot.

supportive running shoe

I've been wearing the Nike Epic React and Epic React Phantom for about a year now, and these React Infinity shoes are a nice upgrade. They definitely have way more arch support, which is important for me, as I have flat feet. The only downside is that they are noticeably heavier and wider than the Epic React. The front of the shoe and toe box itself aren't wide - in fact, they're kind of narrow, even for me, and I have thin feet - but the sole of the shoe flares out around the ball of the foot, making the base of the shoe quite wide. I assume this is to add stability and keep the foot from rolling, but it also adds weight. Similarly, the back of the shoe extends out beyond the heel. Other reviewers have recommended going up a size, but I definitely do not. Other reviewers have recommended going up a size, but I definitely do not. Go TTS. The flyknit fabric feels tight at first, but it loosens up over time. I used to size up to an 8 1/2 running shoe (I wear a 7 1/2 - 8 regular shoe), but with the Epic React, I learned it's better to stay with your true size. I got an 8. If you size up, your heel will slip out of the back, which may explain why some people complained of blisters in this area. I had been hoping these would alleviate my knee pain and tendonitis, but, sadly, while comfortable, they are not the miracle I'd hoped for. Hence the 1 star reduction. Also, they kind of squeak! Still, they are quality shoes with good support, and I think they are much better than other running shoes out there. I've tried them all, and I always come back to Nike for light weight, cushioning, and comfort. I got the Black/White, and they look great, too.
