Snug in the toebox height; not sure if it is because of the protective coating over the big toe causing pressure. Could be because the padding in the heel collar is pushing my foot forward. Whatever the reason, it made the shoe feel short even though it was not short. The rest of the shoe felt extremely comfortable and fit well, but definitely not the egalitarian fit that I expect from a Peg. Might stretch out after time but I'd rather not waste the time having to break in a running shoe. Unfortunately these are getting returned, so I can't comment on the waterproofing. But since it's gore-tex, I'm sure it's good. Been waiting a year for Nike to release the triple black version of this model, so I'm bummed that it ended up being a return.

The react foam is great, feels super plush and squishy but stable for such a low stack, but does not lend itself to speed well. Also feels very much like they skipped the forefoot cushioning. The grip is 7-8/10 until you’ve used the shoe a couple times, when the traction disappears in the forefoot completely (I’m a heel striker so that’s probably not a factor) and it’s like 4-5/10 at best. The goretex works of course, but the relatively low cut sort of works against the waterproofness. I really like the feel of it when just going slow. I will probably use these primarily for hiking as opposed to trail running

This review is long overdue. I was traveling this fall in the UK- London and throughout Scotland. As we all know that part of the world is renowned for notorious for bad, wet weather. I wanted a waterproof sneaker for walking in the streets of London while still looking good. It poured and they worked. We took a day excursion to Stonehenge where it rained/snowed/sleet. Feel were relatively warm and stayed dry.The off to Scotland where a 100 year storm hit, more rain/wind so bad they closed Edinburgh Castle. Walked the streets for 3 days in foul weather gear and my Nike Gore Tex sneakers. Then up to St. Andrews where I walked the Old Course in between storms, grounds were soaking wet, still no wet feet. I traveled out of NYC , winter (bad) weather, wore them on the plane, hiked in the rain forest and ended up playing another round of Golf in them. Kudos to Nike for the design/style/materials. Best purchase of sneakers ever.

Suburbia to Urban terrain. The Nike, Gore-Tex, 11.5, Rockstar colors of brown and orange, they are not waterproof, they are water resistant. They're not meant for the treadmill. They're meant for trails, rain, sleet, all terrain, concrete, rocking these in the concrete jungle, in neighborhoods, where the concrete in the grass, and broken glass, trash, these Nikes get me two and from. Love the colors. Sharing two photos. They hold, they fit, they work. Unfortunately like all my Nikes the toe part runs flat, and the heels have little holes that form, either from the sock or from my heel. Even with brand new socks, even with socks in the dryer, the rubbing of the heel and the back of the Nike, heel causes a hole to form. I love them, they're useful, I'm very grateful.. issue with the design, they feel like I'm in a boat, my feet feel so round, I prefer the height of the Pegasus, or round of the Pegasus this is more of like a boat kind of a width, the orange and brown color makes me feel good, and works with workwear, hiking wear, streetwear, or just going to the grocery store, yeah I'm wearing trail shoes to the grocery store and feeling good. FYI not for the treadmill. Feel free to contact me for feedback, these shoes are great, to take on a trip if you're going across country, across state, even if you're just going, from Jersey to New York, they work. And in crazy rains, they're super helpful.
These Gore-Tex trail Shoes have blown me away. I’ve gone for a few 5 mile runs in a bunch of 3 mile runs deep into the woods with muddy conditions/ rain. They really have a great waterproofing barrier If you Obviously avoid stepping in deep puddles. The laces are of high-quality and the tight ankle support helps while running over tree roots. Very impressed with the mid soul itself. Feels like I’m running on a cloud. I’m strictly using these in the trails While trying to avoid going on long walks on the pavement to preserve that traction. Highly highly recommend. I usually wear 9 1/2 but ordered a half a size up (10). Overall, very impressed and satisfied with these shoes. Now get outside, no matter the weather and tear it up!!! Definitionally, Gore-Tex isn’t the most breathable material, so any sweat that builds up inside will get trapped in greater amounts compared to non-coated shoes.Ultimately though, I bought these shoes for a very specific purpose: to run in wet conditions without worrying about soaking wet socks and the blisters that accompany them. And in that respect, I think these are the best waterproof trail shoes on the market right now. I’m looking forward to giving them a try in snowy conditions as well this winter.

Barely any all-important arch support :( wish these sneakers had OrthoLite Open-Cell Foam Insoles! No toe-tip protection. Only 6 lace-lets, needs a centered 7th on the vamp. This is undoubtedly the most comfortable shoes I’ve had over the past 20 years. I simply refuse wearing any other sneakers. I have these in multiple colors - in classic black or white, or in fun color like the one in the picture. The price when discounted is not just fair - it’s an absolute bargain, considering the incredible durability, versatility, and cost-per-wear. Highly recommend for those who walk/run a lot. Cushioning level is perfect. And yes, they actually ARE waterproof. The only time you’re gonna get wet in these sneakers is when you intentionally submerge your entire foot into a deep puddle.
So the hiker debate. Gore Tex or Lightweight quick dry? I’ve had this she for a year, no issues. I recently took them on a 3 day backpacking trip with 4 days on rain prior ending after the first day on the trail. It was a sloppy mud pit. I had to tap dance on rocks and sticks at some points unlike if I would have worn boots but the weight is definitely worth the extra time spent dancing. Also my feet stayed dry with water up just below where the laces start. My only real complaint is that my ankles didn’t get the support. Would like this in a mid.
I’ve bought two pairs of these for a couple of reasons. First, they are genuinely comfortable. I don’t trail run, but I photograph outdoor sports, and on days/nights when the grass is wet or there’s some sprinkling, I stay dry without having to wear my hiking boots, AND my legs & feet feel great afterwards. Second, they just look great. My only ding against them is that I don’t believe they’re 100% Gore-Tex’d out. Near the front of the shoe, towards the tip, if that section gets saturated, water will start to soak through, leading to discomfort and wet socks & feet. I hope in future iterations, this gets fixed. I want another pair but am leery of it because of this problem.
