Amazing
I’m a teenage 3 season athlete (softball and wrestling) and have severely messed up feet. I bought these because I am going to Costarica for 8 days with my school and normally would never write a review but these shoes are so comfy!! I have been able to run comfortably and walk with these shoes for HOURS. And after a 2 months of wearing them constantly they are still just as nice as the day i bought them. They also were very easy to break in (just walked around my house). Please ignore how terrible and out of context the photos are of me but I wear these shoes constantly and these are ones I found with the shoes in them 😭... Show more

comfortable but not durable
These shoes are comfortable but not durable. Unfortunately, based on my experience I would not recommend these to anyone nor would I buy them again and I would strongly hesitate when buying shoes from Nike in the future.I bought a pair for trail running/ hiking in April and within 5 days of using them normally on trails, part of the sole started to rip off ironically right underneath the "designed to deliver" words at the base of the shoe. Clearly, they are not delivering on that promise. I took them right back to the store and exchanged for a new pair, hoping this was a fluke. But, it wasn't. Today after only owning the exchanged pair for about 3 months and doing a decent amount of walking in them, both soles have split apart in the exact same way as the first ... Really disappointed with the quality and durability issues of this shoe.... Show more

Do not recommend
Do not recommend at all. First, they aren’t waterproof but I didn’t make a big deal out of it. However, I then went backpacking for three weeks with only these shoes and the sole came loose. The shoes were only six months old and hardly worn. Customer service wanted me to return them for a refund, which meant that I had to take these shoes with me back home while I evidently immediately had to buy new shoes for my safety. Every backpacker knows that making place for an extra pair of shoes is not possible. Customer service follows a script and keeps repeating that I should return the shoes without listening to the situation. Hence, low quality shoes and even worse customer service.... Show more

Game Changer!
My initial thought when I took the shoes out of the box was that they were extremely light. That to me is always a good sign for shoes that are meant to be worn for long periods of time because it means that they are typically pretty comfortable. And that was 100% the case for these, I wore them for about 8 hours a day 4 days straight, and had no problems. I knew that I wanted to put these to the test when I got them and they passed with flying colors. I will say that they do run a bit small and feel a little snug when you first put them on but as time passes while wearing the shoe they almost feel like they form to the shape of your foot which I liked. These do exactly what they were designed to. They hold up really well in the rain by keeping your feet both warm ... These do exactly what they were designed to. They hold up really well in the rain by keeping your feet both warm and dry as well as are completely comfortable to wear all day long. The comfort was definitely my favorite part because I spend a lot of time on my feet. The only thing I would change would be maybe switching out the regular laces for a tieless version so that you don’t have to worry about it on the trails. Overall I would give the React Pegasus Trail 4 Gtx a solid 9/10. I would highly recommend it.... Show more

Great for dog walks, not for long distance trail runs
Trail athletes this is for you! Most of the reviews are people using them for dog walks, light drizzles, wet grass, vacations, etc. For these things: YES ABSOLUTELY. They are comfy and super stylish, I get so many complements. HOWEVER-for actual trail running: they are pretty wonderful. For about a month or two. I’ve had 3 pairs now and every pair has gotten a hole in the front where there isn’t any extra material where there should be. Also, the soles wear out SO fast I already need to replace them after 100 miles. NIKE please make these shoes more resilient!... Show more

If you need a sponsor or ambassador for these shoes, let me know!
I don't think I have the time or space to share just how much I love these shoes. To be honest, I may even write a letter to Nike to emphasize this further. As someone with wide and flat feet, these are the most incredibly comfortable Nike shoes I own. I'm extremely loyal to the Pegasus models and the Trail version with GORE-TEX has yet to disappoint. I found the toe box to be a little wider than the normal running models, but not so big that there is a need to size down. This adds to the comfort of the shoe, allowing for a more natural fit. These shoes are worth every single penny in that they are not only comfortable but actually keep your feet dry! I've worn mine everywhere--to an early morning tee-time and then later to work pouring concrete and I prefer simple, neutral colors like white or gray for sneakers and typically shy away from multi-colored sneakers but these colorways allowed me to step out of my comfort zone. Still, I would love a pair of plain white or light gray sneakers to add to my collection as that naturally fits my style more. Again, I cannot say enough positive things about this shoe and I wish I owned every pair! These shoes make me not want to wear another pair again because once you have the freedom from your toes and socks being wet, you never want to go back. Nike, thank you so much for yet another amazing shoe! Personally, I would do anything for more styles like this.... Show more

Improved design
Thank god for the wider toe box.I’ve owned previous models of this shoe and they made for a good running shoe, but they were too narrow. Previous models would start to hurt if my feet swole on longer runs. I’ve worn these about 5x for short 2.5 mile road runs and they’ve been effortless to break in. The flexible material on the tongue and heel is so nice! Gives my foot support without it feeling stiff. The stability and cushion of the shoe is also well balanced. These aren’t overalls cushioned so if you like to feel the push off when running these are for you. Overall I’d recommend these and I’d buy them again. I’m usually a 6/6.5 and I went with a 6.5 for a roomy feel. I’d say stay true to size and at most a half size up.... Show more

PSA for people with WIDE feet!!
I hate these shoes so much that I’d throw them away if I hadn’t spent so much on them. It’s also outside of the return window. I have wide feet and these shoes are not friendly for people with wide or fleshy feet. Perfect for skinny/scrawny feet people with good arches. Yes, I ordered up have a size and the length fit fine, just not the width. There is very little give or stretch to the material, which makes these very uncomfortable to walk in, let alone run in them. The shoe laces are very short and it doesn’t matter how loose you make the laces, the shoe only expands to a limited degree. Again, the fabric has no give. My feet and back haven’t been this sore in a while and I wish I could return these shoes. Yes, the soles are cushioned and have a bounce to them. I ... Searched high and low for GTX trail runner and all roads led back to Pegasus
Needed a waterproof, trail runner that came in earth tones for a trip to Africa (can only pack limited items and needed a shoe that could survive rainy hikes in Cape Town and work on safari in Botswana). After multiple searches kept leading to the Nike Pegasus, I said, I guess we need to try. Nike hasn’t fit my feet for decades so I assumed this wouldn’t work. Reviews noted the toebox on the GTX version was wider than most Nike. I visited a store to try on sizes and learned that the 8.5 (no wide exists) surprisingly worked. It was a pleasant surprise. I’ve used in wet weather and they seem okay. Big trip isn’t for months but I’m starting wear-in process now.For reference, I wear 8W in Brooks Ghost and 7.5W in Hoka Clifton.... Show more

These hold up on Alaskan hikes!
Super comfy hiking shoes. I'm not a big fan of boots when it comes to hiking. But I live in Alaska, so "regular" hiking sneakers don't work well here. AK has super rocky trails, so I needed a hiking shoe with enough padding to not feel those rocks- these shoes provide that. We also typically deal with wet trails/marshy conditions, and my feet stayed dry the whole time. Took them for a pre-winter hike on a fairly chilly day (30ish degrees), and my feet were super warm the whole time. These are comfy, warm, and seemingly durable (I've only had them for one summer of hiking, so can't fully speak on the longterm durability just yet)...
