The Nike SB Blazer Mid “Sashiko” is one of several Nike models to feature the traditional Japanese theme. Part of a broader “Sashiko Pack” imagined by Nike in 2020, the SB Blazer Mid seen here displays the sashiko method of embroidery and stitching that is used to repair worn items to make them “new again. ” The look evokes a tangible pre-worn aesthetic, which fits the vintage zeitgeist that the Blazer silhouette helped popularize in sneaker culture. Hairy light blue suede detailing can be found on the shoe’s eyelets and toe. The look contrasts the dark denim-like canvas material used on either side of the shoe. Enhancing the “mended” look of the “Sashiko” SB Blazer Mid, Nike SB places white Swoosh branding with decorative stitching on both sides of the upper. The same bespoke design is used again on the patch on the back of the shoe that displays “Nike” branding. White contrast stitching can be found on the white SB Blazer branded tongue tag embroidered onto the blue nylon tongue.
