All hail the king of racing shoes
These are the best racing shoes I have ever tried. I avoided them for a while. I have a normal volume foot and know that Nike’s tend to be narrow. I also didn’t want to believe the hype and was looking for alternatives. I tried the Saucony endorphin pro, new balance rc elite 2 and ASICS Metaspeed Sky. I put over 100 miles in all of those before getting the vaporflys. The first time I wore the vaporflys I knew that they were special. I now have my 5k PR in these shoes and will be using them for all of my racing this year, including 5ks, 10ks, half marathons, and I’ll be running the NYC marathon this year. They are light, bouncy and give you the sense of forward lean and propulsion that none of the competitors can match. They improve your efficiency by making it ... They improve your efficiency by making it easier to hold your goal pace with less perceived effort. The NBs are comfortable but too soft and I can’t feel that same push forward. The sauconys give you a nice roll but are stiffer and not as propulsive. The ASICS come the closest to the vaporflys but still fall short. The hype is real. The vaporflys are king.... Show more

All hype.
Definitely all hype. First of all,it’s way Over priced. I thought the material would have a nice feel to it like previous Nike shoes I’ve owned and for $250 I was expecting maybe something even better. The shoe feels like it’s made of some cheap material, the paint was already chipping off before I even wore them. They feel even worse on your feet, these shoes hurt my feet worse than the boots I use to wear in the military. I would absolutely wear any other shoe on my feet but these. So uncomfortable, cheap material and overpriced.... Show more

Excellent - Helps with my joint pain!
These shoes are incredible!! I purchased these to help manage my painful foot diagnosis, Hallux Limitus, caused by 15+ years of playing competitive tennis, which has destroyed my big toe joints. The carbon fiber technology in these shoes provide the protection my toe joints need allow me to still run and walk long distances. These shoes are superior to all all the Hoka’s I’ve purchased in the past. Very happy with these and highly recommend to anybody who’s doctor prescribes stiff toe/carbon fiber shoes for joint pain management.... Show more

Lockdown not so much...
I got these today and took them out for a 5k run straight out of the box. Aqua color is great, same responsiveness as Next% 1. My only con is locked down. I experienced a lot of heel slippage even though I bought my same size as in Next% 1. It must be the new flexible upper or perhaps because the front-foot seems wider. Pretty certain this is what is causing the slippage. Some like the new upper, some don't. I personally don't. It's a shame as I was looking forward to these. I am lucky to have 2 pairs of Next% 1. Valerian Blue and the Pink Blast. Will always be a Nike fan.... Show more

Not necessarily for heel strikers
I got the Bowerman edition the day it came out and could not have been happier spending $200+ on a pair of shoes. I got them for my first marathon and they've held up great except for one weak spot on the inside heel. Right before the inside rubber on the heel of each shoe, I have worn off a small patch of foam. If the rubber on the inner side was just as long as the outer side, I wouldn't have this problem. It doesn't seem to cause any functional issues though. Still love the shoes, this just irks me.... Run Straight or Pay the Price
There’s nothing better to tempo run in ever created. Comfort and performance are the greatest of all time for hard surface running — on the flip side the shoes will completely fall apart if used for anything other than running in a straight. These shoes cant handle planting/cutting, lateral movement, or changing directions in any capacity. I bought these for Fire Academy because we do miles on concrete. They are life changing in that regard — unfortunately my pair came apart on the bottoms after 4 runs doing an agility style workout I had to super glue it back. Wear these for runs and jogs, literally nothing else they will rip and tear... Show more

The best 5k running shoe
After a long wait, I finally got my hands on the white and blue version of the Nike Vaporfly. It’s running stability is unmatched, the stitching is extremely breathable, and it has the smoothest ride of any shoe that I have tried. There are some pros and cons, but that shouldn’t stop most people from loving this shoe.Pros:Breathable MeshNarrow build, conforms to footLightVery cushiony and responsive.Cons:Not for anyone with a wide footStack height will feel odd when you first use it.Foam will start to wear off if you land on your heel, but it will not wear for long. Conclusion:If you run 10k’s, 5k’s or do cross country, you should give these shoes a chance. Vaporfly will not let you down. The best pair of running shoes I own.... Show more

They’re mid.
I ran track & field competitively for 8 years and still run to this day nearly everyday. Have only been able to tolerate Nike running shoes both on and off the track. However these, these are very overrated. For styling, they get an A+For actual running, Nike has better options. Don’t fall for the hype. The forefoot padding is too minimal, prevents you from fully dorsiflexing. The long heel is pretty but also useless if you’re a mid or forefoot striker like me.To top it off, I like how they made it almost like a waffle racer, but you can tell it’s not gonna last for more than a few months without completely falling apart.Walking around it just feels tight and loose at the same time. Just sloppy. For reference, I’n 205 lb and 6 feet tall…size 11 but I can ... MoreI ran track & field competitively for 8 years and still run to this day nearly everyday. UNBELIEVABLE RACE DAY SHOES
I usually do not pay this amount for shoes however I am sold on these! I have been training hard and started breaking these shoes in for race day and I could not believe the energy return. Even on my slow/easy paced training runs I was going faster than I thought, it was actually challenging to slow down and get to the pace I wanted to be in. When race day (half marathon) came I wore these and set a personal record! I know training gets you results but when you have technology like this on your feet it helps also! I would highly recommend!... Show more
