So far it has been a great set of binoculars for sunny day trips to do just about anything! For me that means camping, hiking, the occasional sport event, and maybe to the park if I am feeling it. With some steady hands and some keen vision, however, one could possibly identify larger objects or creatures even under low lighting. If you can take care of these binoculars and have no plans to use it in incliment weather... it will perform up to most of your needs if not all.Pros:+ Tight loop on the back of the case for more secure tethering+ 5.75" (14.6 cm) height, 7.25" (18.5 cm) width is large enough to feel comfortable in my hands.+ Carrying strap is strong enough to support casual climbs, would not expect to survive hardy use.+ Very good clarity in sunny conditions.+ Adjustment knob is smooth enough to make precise adjusments.Cons:- The case has a weird loop for attachment. Not very convenient so i will opt for a better case.- Vulnerable to wet conditions and is not structurally durable. I will have to be very careful with it when hunting. Will have to invest in a better binocular for those tough weather days.- The observing end of the binoculars feel somewhat small personally. Would rather have opted for a x50

Can you say Superman? Now I can, with these far reaching binoculars! What a treat to see things so close-up, with an excellent sharpness in the center field of view, as I have discovered, with all the Aculons I have tried so far. Sure, you get some shake from hand-holding these 16x bins, as any higher power binocular will behave in your hands, but they are still very usable without a tripod, no doubt at all for me-and I do shake a bit, of course. This very this favorable viewpoint is from older eyes and hands, so even younger eyes and hands could make better use of a higher power with more ease, for sure. The color and contrast are pretty good as well (depending on atmospheric conditions-like heat waves, and the like) but under the right conditions these are great ... MoreCan you say Superman? The color and contrast are pretty good as well (depending on atmospheric conditions-like heat waves, and the like) but under the right conditions these are great to behold. It does seem that very high power magnification shows some lesser overall saturation and contrast, so show more critically to your eyes in the quality of the view than the lower powered binoculars, such as those below 10x appear in comparison. I have not tried them with the included tripod mount (great idea, Nikon!), but I know it will only make me smile a broader one than I do now with these. These have met my expectations (I also have the 7x35 and 10x42 Aculons) and then some-no dissappointments here at all from this so affordable glimpse into higher power viewing. I don't know how they can do it, but I am very impressed to say the least, with all the Aculons I have tried so far. And all have been so excellent for the price, that I have kept every one so far-all three Aculons are now being enjoyed here by me now. So, I would say that, at B&H's excellent prices and service, the Nikon Aculon's have to be tried to be believed. Go for it if you're on the fence, and if you don't think they are amazing values in binoculars or don't work for you (always a possibility with individual needs and qualifications), just send them back and try another in B&H's large arsenal of offerings. There are also lots of favorable reviews for the Nikon Action EX's, which are their waterproof version of the Porro prism binoculars that Nikon offers, at a slightly higher price point for the capability of being water and fogproof, if you have that need. Most of us do at one time or another, but still the Aculons will serve as excellent tools for those whose needs are simpler and at a lower price, without sacrificing much in the way of performance if your budget limits your choices, especially. Sometimes these Aculons are offered at unbelievable prices-grab a pair and see how they work for you. It's not brain surgery-just see what works for you-the only way to really know is to try them for yourself. Only one downside that I can see being a possible problem, and that would be eye-relief for those who need to wear glasses when viewing-it is on the lower end of what would be best for eyeglass wearers. Though no doubt some would find it OK, so depending on your eyes, it still might be alright-try them yourself to know for sure. Clear views, and blue skies to you all, enjoy!

These binoculars are nothing special, but they are decent birding binoculars at a very fair price. They are bright enough to use in the early morning or late in the day, when light is iffy.8x is about right for birding -- it's got enough magnification to help in identification, but not so much that it's hard to find the bird. It's also about as much magnification as I can use without getting seasick from my own unsteady hands. There is some chromatic aberration around the edges of the lenses, but the sweet spot of the lenses are free of CA. I was not distracted by the CA at all, but different people have different tolerances for such things.BTW, the negative review that notes the lack of diopter correction on the right eyepiece just doesn't understand the ... I was not distracted by the CA at all, but different people have different tolerances for such things.BTW, the negative review that notes the lack of diopter correction on the right eyepiece just doesn't understand the design of the binocular. The intent is to adjust the binocular by looking through the right eyepiece and focusing on an object. Then close the right eye and look through the left eye at the same object. Adjust the diopter control as needed to bring the left eye into focus. Finally, open both eyes and move the two barrels together or apart until the two eyes are seeing one aligned in-focus image. There is no point in having a diopter adjustment for both eyes when you use the adjustment as designed.
The Nikon Aculon a211 8x42 binoculars are simple and reliable. The rubber eye cups allow me to wear my glasses while using the binoculars. There is a diopter adjust on the right eye then it's just a matter of focus using the center wheel. Easy and quick and doable one handed. Not excessively heavy but the feel sturdy. There is a soft lightly padded nylon case and lens covers included. I chose Nikon for their reputation with optics and as a photographer I'm familiar with Nikon. Good color, easy to hold and focus, rubber on barrels feels secure. I use these for birding and critter photography. They are not water proof so I take the same protective precautions I would use for my camera. If you are looking for an inexpensive solid pair of binoculars I think you will ... Work great, love them. However I have already lost one lens cap due to it being rather flimsy and they easily fall of the neck strap. And I did have a little trouble figuring out how to calibrate the binoculars as the provided manuals aren’t very detailed and also the diopter ring on mine was very stiff it took me some time to figure out if I could even move it at all.Once I got around that I’ve had no issues, besides the lost lens cap.
I bought these binoculars in February 2018 over the Internet without actually trying them out first. This proved to be a mistake. I based my decision on having for some time owned a pair of smaller Aculons (8 x 25s), which I really like. The problem with the 7 x 50s is their extendable eye cups. The design of the rubber cups is the most uncomfortable and unsatisfactory design that, in sixty years of owning and using binoculars I have ever experienced. I bought these binoculars for use in low light while standing in front of an instrument panel, so the fact that it is absolutely impossible to stop ambient light from entering my eyes from behind the ocular greatly reduces the performance of what otherwise is a highly resolute and brilliant optic. I bought these binoculars for use in low light while standing in front of an instrument panel, so the fact that it is absolutely impossible to stop ambient light from entering my eyes from behind the ocular greatly reduces the performance of what otherwise is a highly resolute and brilliant optic. If the distance between the monoculars is widened in an attempt to fit them better into my eye sockets the separate images do not coalesce well at all. In fact, there is no way to use these binoculars effectively for the purpose that I purchased them. I have even tried removing the bulbous rubber cups, reversing them and turning them inside out without result. I am now searching for add-on rubber blinkers to stretch over the eye cups. In addition to the ambient light problem, because the only effective way to use these binoculars is to hold them slightly in front of one's eyes, it is harder to keep them steady because they are without the third anchor point, namely the bridge of one's nose. In summary, for the money, the optics on these Nikon Aculon 7x 50 binoculars are superb, both in terms of resolution and brilliance. However, I would not recommend these binoculars to anyone who seriously wants an effective working pair of binoculars for use in low light conditions, particularly if their intended use is from an observation station that has even the lowest level of ambient lighting. The difference between night and day, with my new Nikon 8x42 Aculon Binoculars! The eyepiece caps and lens caps can be attached to the neck strap - a minor annoyance, but they were firmly attached and did not fall off. The nylon cloth case is just okay, but I would just leave it in the car or backpack. I will definitely bring this to my next sporting event. After placing my order for the 7x35 Aculon, I changed my online order from the 7x35 to the 8x42, after doing last minute analysis. A simple, timely phone call to the B&H service rep resolved my last minute change - Im glad that I did, to get the excellent 8x magnification instead. Terrific B&H service!
Most avid deer hunters know there are certain hunting essentials you don't skimp on when it comes to price. "Optics", in most hunter's minds, definitely fall into that category. The old mantra, "you get what you pay for" is generally the rule and not the exception regarding hunting gear. Not so in this case. These Nikon Aculon binos absolutely deliver way more than you expect them to deliver at such an affordable price. Most hunter's would argue that if your scopes, range finders, and binos don't cost you north of $300.00, then they're quality and performance will be inferior at best. While this may be true to some degree regarding those items, every now and then an optics manufacturer surprises us all with a fantastic high quality item at a ridiculously low price. ... Enter the Nikon Aculon line of binoculars. These guys offer incredible image quality, durability, and superb ergonomics AND at a price nearly every hunter's budget is happy to oblige. I've owned a pair for many years, now, and they remain, to this day, one of the absolute best purchases I've made in 26 years of deer hunting. Just to give you an example of the Nikon Aculon's pedigree, some hunting buddies and I conducted our own little optics "shootout". The 3 contenders included a pair of Steiner binos that cost well north of $200.00, a pair of Leupold binos that cost north of $400.00, and my Nikon Aculon binos that came in at a meager cost of just under $100.00. While the Steiner and Leupold binos certainly offer incredible quality and performance, all of us agreed that, in terms of image quality, ergonomics, and construction, my Nikon Aculon binos more than held their own against 2 high quality manufacturers in Steiner and Leupold. In fact, with the exception of a tinge of peripheral blur in the Aculon, it was almost impossible to truly distinguish a clear winner in image quality and clarity among the 3. So, the final verdict? You can absolutely get amazing high quality optics the higher up the price ladder you climb, but you will certainly not be compromising high quality at an insanely affordable price by choosing from Nikon's incredible line of Aculon binoculars. Well done, Nikon.
We love Nikon and these binoculars are no different, they offer a very clear view and allows alot of light to come into the binoculars. We own a few Nikon Scopes also and we have been very impressed with them all. The prices are great also, there are alot of very high priced options out there and honestly these Nikon ones have just as good if not better viewing in our opinion, but with a much better price. Nikon also stands behind their products which is great since you are using them in the great outdoors! I would definatly recommend these to anyone, whether you are a bird/nature watcher or an avid hunter like we are!
