It's lightweight, compact, and the optics are very good. Its provides good value for the dollar. My only issue is that on the tripod the pin forward of the screw was broken, so the scope on the tripod can have lateral movement because it's not locked in place.

This is a good scope for the money especially at B&H which is a good $100 less than the best price on the internet. However the tripod is totally useless, very light and super shaky. Luckily I have a hefty camera tripod which fits the existing tripod mount on the scope. Excessive chromatic aberration past 30X magnification. Good for glassing 1/2 holes on regular target paper up to 175 yards in good daylight (will probably increase the distance on the fluorescent paper). Probably wouldn't use it for serious ornithology as the colors at large distance and high magnification will be messed up. Eye relief not super good, have to get my eyeball all the way up to the eyepiece. Don't buy if you don't have a separate heavy tripod.

I've owned a few spotting scopes, most were hard to adjust, difficult to see through, had cheap tripods, or various other issues. This spotter though has exceeded my expectations. Are there more expensive ones? Sure are, but why spend another thousand when this one will hang with the best of them. Believe me, I've used some very expensive spotters but I'm convinced this one will met & exceed your expectations too.
The scope is a nice solid construction with nice clear and bright image.Comes with a nice segmented carry case that has plenty of room for the tripod as well.Tripod is nicely engineered and strikes a good balance of stability and portability. Great for when a more heavy duty one is not feasible.

The optics are superb. The only drawback that I have found is that the tripod is not very strong. But if it were made stronger, it would have to be heavier. So it is fine for what I use it for. I give it five stars.
I use this very often. The zoom is very good on it. Great quality !
This is what you would expect from Nikon. The tripod is a little shaky. But otherwise a good deal.
This spotting scope is very clear. I can even read signs over 500 yards away with 48X. Great size for glassing deer or elk .
