I bought this copy of 1984 because;1. It stated "Quality Very Good" (it was 'Acceptable' at best).2. I wanted the book cover as advertised (it was a different cover)Why do WOB permit their sellers to mislead customers so often?I now see this 'store' as way less reliable than Amazon. Cheaper - yes, but in both senses of the word.Could do better...

What can I possibly say about this amazing novel, 1984 by George Orwell, that hasn't been already said by many who have read the book for over half a century. When it is said that the book is 'haunting', 'nightmarish', and 'startling' any reader would have to agree! This well known novel grips the reader from the beginning and does not even let go of the grip at the finished reading. A classic you won't want to miss if you haven't taken the time to read it yet.
I bought this book cheap on the recomendation of a freind. I dont really read much so was not sure what to expect. However I was hooked from off and read it within a week. Following the tale of Winston from beginning to end.
- Thought provoking- Enjoyable read- Engaging- Highly recommend
I really like Orwell's novels and this is no exception, the plot and characters were great
A classic. George Orwell had an uncanny knack of predicting how certain trends in society could be exploited. Their weaknesses used to the determent of society as a whole. Free speech and even to be in love could (and in the book) was forbidden and punished. Constant surveillance with the use of cameras was everywhere. The spirit to resist was broken and the reader follows the progress of a doomed love affair.
This is a fantastic book, and more relevant today than it has possibly ever been. It outlines the struggle between the working class and the state, and the gradual redefinition of everything until distinction is meaningless in a grey world. It was written as a kind of satire, but contemporary politics had other plans.
amazing read great for all ages husband has issues with reading so bought for him and he finds it simple to read i have read it as well and I'm an avid reader would recommend to anyone
