I had the original flip and loved it, except it was too darn short! Upgraded to this one when it went on sale. Unfortunately the pan and rack from the first do not fit in the second, but you Can use the black pan from the first as a sort of 'over flow safety' catch tray. The black sear tray/pan with this one, seems to only fit at one height position, which is a little frustrating, but I guess not a deal breaker. I have not cooked anything big and splattery- I'm disabled and don't want to create unnecessary labor for myself. It does great with stir frying (air frying) zuke & onion with balsamic glaze, pot stickers/dumplings, corn bread, custards, casseroles, tuna melts, everything flat (pizza/fish fingers/etc...) - so I have Not done bacon/chicken wings/the sort, so cane really speak about the clean up. I have mine sat on top of my stove so that I don't need to worry about counter/heat, and can easily use the range hood vent- I haven't had a smoke issue though because I don't cook those foods. I haven't really needed to flip it up yet either, but I can see where that wouldn't be the greatest/smartest thing to do to the power cord. My only serious warning would be to possibly NOT get this for someone with a visual impairment. The controls are easy enough to use, but getting things out of it, when it's a short space from top to bottom- using a pot holder or two, it can be difficult to get your fingers or hand in to grab the edge of your dish without the serious concern of getting burnt. In this instance, possibly the bucket type of air fryer is designed better - but how do you cook a pizza in those?

We got to clear up room of our old toaster, air fryer, countertop oven by replacing it with this air fry 10-in-1 oven and not only that it flips up creating more counter space! We have air fried chicken wings that turned out great, baked cookies, pizza, toasted bread, and lots more. Everything came out great and tasted delicious easily feeding our family of 3 at one time due to the larger XL size. Heats up quick, cooks evenly and thoroughly, cleaning is very easy, the whole interface is easy to use, and just simply looks great in our kitchen. The only downside to the sear plate is that it has to be washed between every use, so if you are making a couple items one after the other you'll want to wash it. Here's the catch: the instructions recommend that the plate cool down prior to washing to maintain the integrity of the finish. I've found just two more negatives on this excellent product: 1) the door is HOT to the touch, so you must use the handle on the left to open (this can be awkward for righties), 2) the oven light only stays on for one minute and then fades until the last minute of cook time when it turns on automatically (I found this frustrating when I would glance across the kitchen to see how things are going.) I'll end on a high note -- this oven can cook 30-50% faster than a normal oven. So meals get prepared faster, and you can feed your hungry family or friends and get on to other things besides cooking.

I also try to pay attention to not eating a lot of deep fry food as it contains a lot of fat. The air fryer technique is perfect because you just need a tiny bit of oil to cook. I made sweet potato french fries and it was delicious. It is well explained in the little booklet describing how to cook with an air fryer, it even contains a few recipes. The ninja Foodi 29 litre oven is twice the price of other similar size ovens, but the build quality makes it worth the price! I looked at many ovens before purchasing the Ninja Foodi, and they were all poor build quality (compared to the Ninja Foodi). It doesn't have a rotisserie, but let's face it, the whole purpose of the 'air fry' oven is so that you don't need to move the food as the hot air moves within the oven. The trays and racks are easy to clean (as they have excellent quality chrome & enamel finishes on them). The oven interior is also easy to clean as the cooking great doesn't stick to its surface.
