Pros: It cooks the food in a fraction of the time a conventional oven takes and with most things you don't require a pre-heat, so an item that would take 35 mins including preheating the oven I can do in around half that time. I cook more or less everything that could be done in an oven. Although it's called an air fryer it's actually a turbo oven and grill so we've cooked everything from chilled quiche, pies, breakfast items, sausages and burgers come out a dream with no additional oil added. Toasties are great, aunt Bessy roasters come out perfect every time with nice crunch but soft and fluffy inside. I've avoided cooking things with excess liquid but i made lovely little rolls from dough and they turned out perfect. There's tons of online instruction videos as wellThe AF300 is a dual zone fryer/grill combo. You can have the same settings in both trays at the same time, or have different settings for each basket. One could b set to the grill while the other's set to air fry, or bake etc. They can have a different heat setting or duration from each other and by using the sync button, you can set each tray individually then when you press start, it holds the tay with the lesser timed settings and synch's them so that the cooking times end at the same time. It works great Cons: The most frustrating thing about the model I have AF300 is the size of the bins where you heat the food. It's great for solo meals and you just about get away with 2 person portions, but more than that then we have to utilise the oven to keep food hot while we cook more items on the Ninja. It got so annoying we bought a second fryer, that one is generally for chips only or the roasters or wedges etc and we use the Ninja for the main food items

I have used the single air fryer for a few years and still have it.I decided to purchase the dual drawer due to fuel increases but also to minimise cooking times. I bought the 400 for our daughter and the 300 for me and my husband. I have used both machines and really either would suit a family of four. The screen is clearer on the 400 model for some reason, almost as if it has a brighter bulb ! But not a problem .I don't agree with some that it replaces a conventional oven. I still like to use my oven just not as often. Air fryers cook perfect fries, chicken, bacon, ham joints, beautiful Brussels sprouts and bacon. Quiches and sausage rolls etc are perfect on reheat setting. I shall use it at Xmas alongside my oven. You can cook a whole chicken meal in one go and even full English breakfast , I only ever cook bacon in the air fryer, hardly ever use a frying pan now. I wouldn't be without it and highly recommend it. It isn't a fad like some appliances. Perfect for busy families and quick foods. Also there is the added benefit of it being a healthy cooking option as very, very small amounts of oil if any needed. Easy to clean too.

Bought this 9.5 litre twin compartment cooker after reccommendation from neighbour who had used one for well over a year. Basically it's two mini fan ovens combined with overhead grill in each compartment. Each compartment can be set to different modes and timed so whole meal is ready together. Just like any oven using grill, regular turning of food is required. Compartments are small in comparison to a large oven so heat up very quickly. Food cooks more quickly because of heat being in a confined space. Crispness of all foods is more than conventional oven which gives food great texture. Crisp on the outside but hot and moist in the middle. Unit is well made, looks great and is suprisingly small taking up little worktop space, but with plenty of room in each ... MoreBought this 9.5 litre twin compartment cooker after reccommendation from neighbour who had used one for well over a year. Unit is well made, looks great and is suprisingly small taking up little worktop space, but with plenty of room in each compartment to cook meal for at least two. Thought food would not taste as good as conventional modern fan oven but the opposite is true. Apart from great savings in electricity it is simple to use and will now only use conventonal oven on rare occasions for things like pizzas or cut in pieces and use both compartments using air fryer. Negative points are it needs tools to turn food like a plastic spatulas and tongs and could come with shelves to fit into each compartment. These are minor points though. Will still use microwave oven to aid but the air fryer will be used for most of the cooking from now on. Max temperature on air fry mode goes to 240 degrees so that is plenty. On conventional oven it raises to 300 degrees, but this is not necessary with this unit unless you want food cremated! This is not just excellent for single nobby no mates folk but great for family use, even being used as an extra oven for larger family gatherings to bring meals together ... Finally very easy to clean.

I was a little hesitant purchasing this air fryer as I thought that I would be limited in what we cooked and not happy with the results. How wrong I was! I can cook just about anything, in particular as we have two sections to spread the food types and the ability to have a hot meal finished at the same time was magical. With some foods you have to roughly calculate a time as not everything is in the small guide that accompanies the cooker. Once you have the hang of it you can cook just about everything. It browns things too but by opening the drawers and shuffling things about you get an all over heat and the items come out as hot as can be. If you are preparing other items for the meal then let the ones in the air fryer to sit for a few minutes whilst you strain ... MoreI was a little hesitant purchasing this air fryer as I thought that I would be limited in what we cooked and not happy with the results. If you are preparing other items for the meal then let the ones in the air fryer to sit for a few minutes whilst you strain veggies etc then put everything onto the plates still steaming hot from the fryer. Every meal so far has been cooked to perfection in less than 18 minutes! Looking at this time and the energy consumed it's obvious to me that I am saving money everyday by using this rather than my oven.
I bought 2; 1 for me and 1 for my daughter. I haven't found anything you can't cook in it yet. There are lots of recipes on the internet although i think you still have to experiment and find the settings right for you. I cooked frozen cod in batter tonight, recommended cooking time in the oven at 200° was 28 minutes. I chose the max crisp setting (for frozen food) 10 minutes, then turned it over and cooked for another 8 minutes. Result was perfect. Have tried paper trays in it to keep the basket clean but find the sides buckle under the pressure of the air so now using silicone trays which are much better but very hot to the touch when you take them out. The ninja uses 75% less than an electric oven and is super efficient. I certainly don't regret buying it and would definitely recommend this to anyone.
What surprised me most was the poor build quality: - neither drawer aligns properly at the top - drawer two doesn't align at the bottom - the paint finish isn't correctly applied with the result that bare metal shows at some of the edges - one of the silicon feet wasn't attached properly with the result the appliance wobbles (and, yes, we have tried to fix it). I really am not sure how long the appliance will last. It certainly does not give a feeling of being robust. I fear it will soon be consigned to the back of a cupboard. Admittedly we have only used a couple of times. However, I am surprised at how long food - particularly vegetables - take to cook. It seems to me that the principal energy saving comes from heating a smaller volume for (as the drawers are generally not pre-heated) a shorter period. In return, it seems to me, you sacrifice flexibility and flavour particularly if not cooking straightforward roasted meats. Whilst not yet convinced, I still hope to become a convert in line with other reviews. I have my doubts though on the point.
Since purchasing the Ninja AF300 dual air-fryer we have become converts to air-frying. In this difficult financial climate, having a fuel efficient cooking machine is very important. Make no mistake, the food takes just as long to cook but there is no warm up period while the air-fryer comes to full heat before you can do anything. Put the food in, press a couple of buttons, and you are good to go We have tried some of our old favourites and have been surprised at how much more crisp and flavoursome everything is whereas, in a conventional oven, although very tasty, food could be slightly moist. A good example is cheese-filled fishcakes, in the oven they could be slightly soggy; in the air-fryer they come out really crisp. As necessary extras, you should buy, silicone ended tongs so as not to damage non-slip finish, racks to lift the food for accessibility and better air-circulation, and some silicone liners to minimise on mess and washing up. Enjoy!
I wasn't sure at first how much use this would get, worried about the rising energy costs and oven usage being the primary electricity drain I bought one of these. We are now using it for everything! Chips, nuggets, hash browns, toasties, bacon. Anything you can grill or oven cook (that will fit) can be cooked better and faster. Chips, nuggets, hash browns have a crisp to them that we couldn't achieve in the oven. Chips/nuggets for kids s take 15 minutes... Total. No more waiting 10-12 minutes for oven to preheat and then a further 20-25 minutes to cook. That alone will reduce energy consumption by 2/3rds and its alot more efficient than the oven so id say over all its possibly even down to 1/4 or 1/5th of the energy a traditional oven uses. And will pay for itself in no time. You can even fit a full small/medium chicken in one side and load the otherwise with potato's/veg for a quick midweek roast. The dual zone/dual time function is great also. If you have been on the fence about buying one I can highly reccomend this one. However it is BIG so make sure you either have the counter space to keep it out or somewhere easy to put it away. We got the 7.6l one I can't imagine how big the 9l one is!
Early days, as we've had this for less than 2 weeks, but first impressions are favourable. Great for cooking meals for 2; probably less useful for a family. So far have tried salmon, haddock (and chips), fishcakes, meatballs in tomato sauce, slices of pizza - strategically cut to fit in the drawer oven - corn on the cob, roast chicken pieces (bought a whole small chicken and cut it into smaller sections to fit). No need to pre-heat and cooks things in less time - and using far less energy - than a conventional oven. Still at the experimental stage - there is a cookery pamphlet with it, which is useful, but needed to include far more recipes as there don't seem to be any suitable cookery books around for this machine. Still at the experimental stage - there is a cookery pamphlet with it, which is useful, but needed to include far more recipes as there don't seem to be any suitable cookery books around for this machine. It would be useful for JL to stock the accessories for this machine - eg the metal rack to fit inside it and silicone baskets, as the official Ninja website just doesn't seem to work at the moment (too much demand currently I think). Very easy to keep clean. Haven't used the 'dehydrate' setting yet, and not sure that I will, but the other settings (airfry, bake and roast) actually seem remarkably similar - and all can be set to the same temperature, so what's the difference? Useful 'sync' setting so you can cook different things in the 2 drawers and arrange for them to finish at the same time.
Perfect for a family of four, go for the 9300 if you need more. The Sync and Match functions make it super simple to ensure you have food cooked and ready at the same time. We've cooked all sorts in it, with the main objective being not to use the main oven. If you have a smart meter with 30 minute readings you will see how efficient the Ninja is compared to an oven. Chips are hands down the best we've had - especially McCain's fries, but equally good for home cut, sweet potato or vegetable fries. Take a bit of experimentation to get them the way you like. The key is to shake them every 2 minutes to ensure they're evenly cooked. You can put just about anything in the Ninja that you would put in the oven. We've tried some baking like the included brownies recipe and stuffed pepper which all turned out really well. Cleaning is easy and the non-stick surface is effective, but it does need cleaning at the end of each use.
