Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (Nintendo Wii U)
Terrorists have stormed the home of London's Prime Minister, taking him hostage. Ryu Hayabusa has been summoned from deep within the countryside to satisfy their single demand - to meet the terrorists face to face. Ryu infiltrates the Prime Minister's home, coming face to face with the terrorists leader, the Regent of the Mask. The Regent curses Ryu with the Grip of Murder, a spell cast on his right arm that thrives on the grudges of all the people he has killed. Can Ryu lift the curse before it consumes him, all while putting a stop to the terrorists' plans? NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor's Edge is a leaner, tighter, and more thrilling experience than the original game, improved in every way. Drastically reduced story sequences, streamlined game flow, and improved A.I. complement more features exclusive to the Wii U console. This is truly the sequel that NINJA GAIDEN fans have been waiting for.

I have never played a Ninja Gaiden game before. Unfortunately, I wasn't in to the whole franchise when the first 2 games were released, but after giving Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge a go, I am certain I will, at some point, play through the older games. When I played the demo of this game on Xbox Live, I thoroughly enjoyed playing through both Ryu's segment, but also Ayane's segment too. I was actually happily surprised that Ayane was a playable character in this game. I love the Dead Or Alive franchise, so it felt awesome to control one of their lead characters in a hack and slash style adventure game. I purchased the full game shortly after playing the demo, and boy was it fun. The game play itself is pretty solid and the battle mechanics work like a gem. Blocking and dodging are a must if you are to survive 10 seconds in battle in this game, so I am amazed at how well it's done. The graphics and overall quality of the game is great. The frame rate runs perfectly, even when surrounded by enemies of various sizes, the controls are smooth and instant, and pulling off combos and instant kills, which sometimes lead into multi-instant kills, feel great. The storyline took some time for me to get used to, as I have not played through the previous games, but overall, it was very well written and had some good plot twists to keep you interested and on your feet. As an overall game, I loved it. It provides an immediate challenge from the very start, so you're right in the action from the moment you press start. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

This game is great for a mindless hack-and-slash. Infinitely superior to Ninja Gaiden 3 (no adjunct to the title). The game does get unbelievably challenging to the point where I had to just turn off the game, but there is a "hero mode" where the game almost plays for you. That aside, the story is pittifully stupid. Do yourself a favor and do not think about it. That's irrelevant though because of the mear ninjaness of your fighting styles and weapons. Also! Do NOT! get this for the kiddoes (if the Mature rating wasn't obvious enough) this one's even a bit intense for a seasoned gamer

Ninja Gaiden 3 has been remade in a number of different versions at different times for different consoles. This is probably the best version available. The action is very fast-paced and the gameplay is very challenging. Maybe too challenging for some. The graphics are ok, but as one of the earlier Wii U games and a remake to boot, they are not great. If you're a fan of twitch action games you'll like this game.

While most third party games on Wii U have been lackluster ports, this is the definitive version! The game runs smooth and the lighting and textures have been improved. You can perform combos via the game pad (optional). It's seems time and care was done to produce this excellent port. If your in to challenge and learning super combos, pick this up. Currently it is the best action game available for the Wii U!
With it's release way back when, Ninja Gaiden has always been a series with major flaws, whether it be seemingly impossible difficulty setting, or just poor game mechanics in general, they always existed. However, Nintendo has really laid something new on the table with the most recent game towards the franchise; Razor's Edge. From it's stunning gameplay and characters, to its fine-detailed environment and action, this one is truly the masterpiece for the series. Giving and overall 8.5 out of ten, the game features AWESOME fun, and great controls and mechanics, allowing the player to feel a lot more comfortable when playing. Almost all of the flaws of the series' earlier components, have been improved. While the game is nice, the plot could use a little refining, but overall, it's more or less supposed to be a beat-em-up hack and slash, which is why not too much is deducted from this lack in feature. To summarize; great buy, worth the play for all those contemplating. Happy Slashing.
Picked up since it was on clearance and have not played the third entry. From what I've read many things are unlocked for you right off the bat compared to the version initially released on the other consoles. Many have complained that this is good and bad. unfortunately, the sense of reward that these unlocks gave from finish the game are now gone. Never the less this is still a great (and challenging) hack and slash game
The original release of Ninja Gaiden 3 on 360/PS3 was over-simplified in an attempt to appeal to a wider audience. Razor's Edge is a much better version of the same game that caters to the series' longtime fans by adding in the ridiculous level of difficulty Ninja Gaiden is known for along with beefing up the leveling system. The game looks as good as can be expected on Wii U: looks good but occasionally gets choppy when there's a lot going on on-screen. The gamepad makes using ninpos easy, but the Pro Controller is much more efficient, especially when the difficulty starts to ramp up. The story makes absolutely no sense but that's part of its charm.
I like ninja gaiden razor edge and the game is awesome. Its a great game to play. I do enjoy the games story line.
To the surprise of many, the Wii U is a pretty competent home to action games, with titles like Wonderful 101, and Bayoneta 1&2 at the top of the list. Those games set a pretty high bar for the genre, and I really enjoyed the previous two titles done by Team Ninja, although the man in charge of the studio, Itagaki, was no longer with them during the development of Ninja Gaiden 3.The story, as many stories in games coming out of Japan (especially in this genre), is a convoluted mess, which is expected. That's what the 'skip' button is for. The gameplay is better, but not tremendously so, and while it may be serviceable for a launch window game (which I believe this was, despite it being a port from the 360/PS3 generation), at this point in the system's life span, ... MoreTo the surprise of many, the Wii U is a pretty competent home to action games, with titles like Wonderful 101, and Bayoneta 1&2 at the top of the list. The gameplay is better, but not tremendously so, and while it may be serviceable for a launch window game (which I believe this was, despite it being a port from the 360/PS3 generation), at this point in the system's life span, there are too many great to waste time playing a game like this unless you really enjoy action games. It's easily the weakest NG game in the current series that started back on the original Xbox, and it's nowhere near as good as either of the aforementioned titles on Wii U. It's a serviceable game, but even at the discounted price I purchased it at, the game hardly seems worth it.
Ninja Gaiden Razor's Edge is a hardcore game brought to Wii U by joint publishers Tecmo Koei and Nintendo. The gameplay is highly skill-based, requiring extensive combos and movesets to combat your opponents and conquer bosses. The game is not toned down in any way, and offers the same parity found on other platforms. Additionally, players can utilize the gamepad for off-screen play, as well as use the Wii U Pro Controller as an alternative control setup. Voice chat is supported through the gamepad's built in microphone, and an update has been released providing some additional content, characters, and outfits. My score: 80/100
