I have the smaller version which is fantastic. Im gonna buy the pro as well because the extra size and height gives far more choices in joints of meat. We use this every day as you can do anything on it you have to think as a new way of cooking. I never use my domestic oven anymore. You have to understand that on grill the smaller one cooks at up to 500 degrees on the new pro it up to 700degrees which is the same as any pizza oven. To the presenters could you ask ninja if they are bringing out a flat bed grill base like the other brilliant for fried eggs etc. Also i think you should demonstrate a pizza and how fast it does. This oven can do anything a pizza oven can do it can roast, grill, airfry. Its faster than any oven so saves you money and only takes 8 minutes to full heat on roast. Totally controllable fantastic.

All you need to do is find a space, switch it on, let it pre heat, set the temperature, add your food and thats it, you can add the wooden pellets if you wish to give that smoked taste and smell.CookingAs per normal with all Ninja appliances cooking is quick and easy without and fuss or mess. We decided to try something easy as first so it was chicken kebabs Set up was quick and for extra taste we added the Robust wooden pellets, the grill tray is large enough to fit 10 \ 12 medium kebabs. Switch on, pre heat, add the food that’s it. The smoke from the wooden pellets circulated around the grill and lid and within 15 minutes (including pre heat) the kebabs were ready and on the table. Chicken was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic with the added smoked taste. We didn’t need to use the built in thermometer but its there is you need it.CleaningJust make sure everything is cool before cleaning, especially the pellet burner. The main grill tray is large but is easy to clean with washing up liquid and hot water. The rest of the BBQ can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.ConclusionIt safe to say the Ninja Woodfire BBQ is another outstanding Ninja product. It’s a solid product with a quality feel and is built to last, it makes BBQ’ing an all year round cooking experience, its so easy to use and who’d of thought you could cook chips on a BBQ. Once again a recipe / cook book is included packed with ideas so let’s see what we decided to BBQ next . It so easy to use and keep clean unlike any other BBQ and a 2 year guarantee is included

So, this review is a little bit later than anticipated as I was given this item to review by Ninja back in November 2023, however, given that the weather in winter in the UK is not generally suitable for outdoor cooking, followed by the rather wet weather we had through April/May, my review relates to the first outing at the end of May 2024 and a couple of other uses during June 2024.The first thing we tried was just a plain old simple BBQ (sausages, burgers, chicken and grilled haloumi), all of which were cooked to perfection. The second outing was some slow smoked pork belly which turned out so soft and tender and although there wasn't a strong smoke flavour you could tell it had been smoked. The second outing was some slow smoked pork belly which turned out so soft and tender and although there wasn't a strong smoke flavour you could tell it had been smoked. Although, I did realise after the event that not all of the pellets had burnt and that was due to operator error as I'd not filled it to the top, lesson learnt for the next smoke! The third item I cooked was a whole roasted chicken on the normal roast setting, this took about 50 mins and then I did 5 mins airfry to crisp the skin, cooked to perfection. In addition to the food being cooked to perfection it is all done with very little cleaning up to do, as the grill plate is so easy to clean, I made sure that all surplus oil and bits of food were moved to the drip tray at the back of the appliance, gave it a quick wipe with some paper towel and then it cleaned up perfectly with a tiny bit of fairy washing up liquid (other brands are available) and some hot water in the sink, and I think this was probably the easiest of all my Ninja appliances to clean.
The Ninja Woodfire XL is an impressive looking piece of kit. It’s certainly aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It’s form is a little reminiscent of the large smokers you see being used for barbecuing across the pondOn a practical level it’s so well put together with no flimsy parts. It’s as if the the designers have worked to a memo of elegant functionality. It’s important to note the Ninja Woodfire feels extremely well balanced and centred when placed upon whichever surface you are going to use. It’s as if the the designers have worked to a memo of elegant functionality. It’s important to note the Ninja Woodfire feels extremely well balanced and centred when placed upon whichever surface you are going to use. It’s not going to slide or move during use.The electric lead is of a standard length so unless you have a nearby outdoor socket you’ll need a little extra help. Thankfully that’s what outdoor extension leads are for! This is a minor issue and certainly nothing that interferes with the smooth working of the item.We found two extra large chickens 2kg fitted onto the Ninja Fire with ease. The cooking space under the lid was cavernous with room for extra vegetables or cuts of meat if you wished to cook them alongside. We decided to try smoker option and used the Robust Blend (Hickory, cherry, maple and oak). The instructions were clear and easy to follow. You put the thermometer into the chicken then close the lid. Select smoker then use the arrows to put the temperature to 140 degrees centigrade. Then select manual select 75 degree centigrade for internal meat temperature. Then hit the START/STOP button. Simple as that. The smoke begins to circulate within a minute or so. The smell of woodfire pellets is amazing. Think of the best maple/hickory cure bacon you ever bought sizzling under a grill…that’s the aroma that wafts your way. When the 75 degrees was reached just over an hour later our two chickens were officially done Ninja wood fire style. I opened the lid and they looked like something out of the stylised pages of a cookery book. They were so picture perfect I’m sure any Saturday morning celebrity chef would have gladly claimed them. However the proof as we all know is in the eating. The verdict? Hands down the tastiest chickens I’ve ever rustled up.I actually thought the smoke infused flavour would just touch the outside of the meat. How wrong I was! The Robust Blend had permeated right through every fibre of the tender meat. It was absolutely drool inducing.Want proof? My son who can be a fussy eater declared the drumsticks as the best he ever tasted. That seals the deal for me.I never thought I’d get anywhere close to the burst of flavours I discovered in the southern states of America when I visited in my youth. However this smoker also just happens to be a Time Machine that took me a trip down memory lane. I never knew Ninja was capable of such culinary magic. We have tried brisket and ribs along with onions and corn on the cob all smoked on the Woodfire and they were so tender and flavoursome that I’m getting a little peckish just writing this review. In short I feel Ninja as a company has broken new ground with the BBQ Grill, BBQ smoker, Air Fryer and Roast functions. It’s an all singing, all dancing appliance. My family who have eclectic tastes have all been united in being impressed by the end product on their plate. There’s never any leftovers. Thats the highest praise I can give it.
If you have got to the reviews you will have already checked out this BBQs functions. However, in practice it is amazing.I have roasted beef and pork with the probe and it was perfectly cooked and remained juicy. My favourite function is the grill (bottom plate) which gets nice an hot, great for searing but also cooks a pizza beautifully in 5mins, with a crispy bottom. The smoker function is a great addition and as expected gives your food that smokey tast. I recommend you keep the pellets indoors to keep them dry.It is large and bulky but so are all BBQs and it fits into any outdoor space with access to electricity. It's a beast, a beautiful beast at that! When the Woodfire Pro XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker arrived its was well packaged. So impressed with the build quality as always, yet again another great looking product.A quick flick through the guide i was ready to get cracking to the important bit. The grill plate slotted perfectly into place, then the crisper basket sits on top. Luckily it sat perfectly on our outdoor garden table, I'll be purchasing the stand available for this in due cause. First choice was the grill option, slight wait for it to come up to temperature then on goes the burgers, sausages and marinated chicken pieces on a high selected heat. First choice was the grill option, slight wait for it to come up to temperature then on goes the burgers, sausages and marinated chicken pieces on a high selected heat. Very impressed with the outcome, sear marks on the burgers and sausages were impressive, chicken cooked to perfection too not dry and very juicy top marks! With the initial trial out of the way i dove into the probe and smoker option, prepped a whole large chicken marinated with a homemade rub. A quick check of the BBQ smoker chart for temp and cook time, inserted the probe into the thickest part of the chicken (Breast) being careful not to touch the bone then closed lid over the cord. Turned the dial to select smoker then left arrows to set temp then selected manual and set internal temp I chose the all purpose wood pellets for a first try, selected start then away we go. The smell of the pellets smoking already had me after a few minutes...Once complete the chicken was rested for 30 mins, i can honestly say it was the juiciest chicken tasted in a while, the flavours from the wood pellets were amazing, balanced mild and sweet. I look forward to experimenting with different veg and meats when the weather starts to improve, however you can use it all year if you so wish.Overall, I'm very impressed. Our old BBQ will be unfortunately put aside for now, It's so much easier than cooking on a traditional BBQ, the choices are vast.Hurry up summer!!
Having 2 ninja products which are used almost daily in my home, I was incredibly excited when this beauty arrived. She is a big girl so be aware of that when purchasing but it only means you can fit more in which is a bonus in my eyes. The instruction manual is clear and set up instructions explained well. The product itself, as with all ninja product I have used is incredibly well made and sturdy. Having received this during the winter months she's not been used to full potential, however when the summer season kicks in I'm sure she'll be out every weekend. I did cook 2 full chickens (that's how large the capacity is) and they were better than expected, so juicy and cooked to perfection with the probe inserted into the breast. This machine is a beast, sturdy and well built. Setting Up was easy and as always the Instructions are clear and easy to understand. If your looking for a Smoker Grill that cooks food quick and the results are fantastic look no further. you won't be disappointed. The only gripes i have is the pellet cage is a bit fiddly and the power lead could be longer.Well done Ninja, you knocked it out of the park again.
We’ve wanted to try smoking for years now. We’ve tried a few different bits of equipment but unfortunately none of them were much of a success because they were difficult to control with lots of different variables. They were a bit of hassle to use and needed a fair bit of pre-planning. So, we had more or less given up. That was until we tried the Ninja Woodfire Smoker XL. Overall, it’s a fantastic product that makes it very easy for anyone to smoke food and get delicious results.Having a couple of other Ninja appliances, we expected the Woodfire to look good, be easy to use and be robust and good quality. It’s all of those things, it feels well-made and after a quick read of the instructions we were off and running. It makes it easy to smoke almost anything - so far we’ve tried lamb, several cheeses, duck, steak and both hot and cold smoked salmon- even cold smoked butter…. Which was AMAZING! Using the probe and pre-sets make it easy to get good results but after a few attempts and growing confidence you’re able to experiment a fair bit and creative different tastes. We have purchased a few different types of wood pellet too so we can change the taste depending upon what we are smoking.A nice surprise is how good an alternative it is to our BBQ. If we didn’t already have a BBQ, I would seriously think about buying one because this can probably do it all, although even the XL is a little too small if you’re cooking for a quite few people, but perfect for a family. The temperature probe means that everything is cooked to perfection without any worry. It’s not all perfect, Ninja have made a couple of odd decisions in their product design. The power cable is very short. So, if you don’t have socket right next to Woodfire, you’ll need an extension. We also found the pellet cage quite difficult to get out to empty the ash. The metal cage is hard to pull out and the edges are quite sharp so I can imagine you could cut yourself if not careful.Overall, a fantastic product that makes smoking very easy and accessible. It looks great, although it a little disconcerting leaving what looks like a kitchen appliance outside but it’s obviously designed to do that and is surviving the harsh Scottish winter admirably so far. We also purchased a cover to help look after the machine. We’ve not yet used the air-fryer function as we have a great Ninja one in the house already.
