Ninjago has a wide variety of sets - this play set's best feature is the "keytana" blade that is used to open the front gate/door in order to get to the bad guy named Unigami. The mini figures are good, and the build process for this set was fun. From what I can tell, this isn't the best Ninjago temple set, but it is a very good one, especially if you like the television show. My 4 year old also says it is a "good" set, and likes the figures and the tower.

My personal assistant and I stayed our hand when buying this as the only exclusive miniature plastic figurine was Sushimi the mad sushi chef. However I became restless and purchased it by December the nineteenth of the year 2020. It is wonderful for display but possesses little opportunity for video filming. However, the miniature plastic figurines were somewhat loose on arrival but aside from this and the fact it did not in the least resemble anything out of the television program, it was a stupendous product.

This was such a cool build, and looks amazing on display. I really love the combination of colors used, as well as all the video game-like features throughout, such as the platforming sections or having to collect key blades to progress through the level itself. The minifigure selection is great, and I greatly appreciate the health bar feature added to all of them. I did, however, come across an issue with one of the pieces. One of the orange sword-like pieces at the top of the temple was shorter than the other, completely missing the point at the top. Unfortunately, this is the second set in a row that I have purchased with some sort of issue (the previous one being set 31104 Monster Burger Truck, which was missing the sticker sheet), which is concerning. ... MoreThis was such a cool build, and looks amazing on display. Thankfully, however, Lego is very quick to send replacement parts if there are any issues, and with the stick sheet issue I mentioned, they sent the sheet out within two days of contacting them. So I assume it will be a similar case with this part. Overall, this is a fantastic set, and part defect aside, I would have rated this set 5 stars for sure.

Writing on behalf of my six year-old son...The set looks GREAT. It has the look of the tv show, and the details are perfect. Added bonus: if you have a black light or blue LEDs, the neon colors in all the Prime Empire sets glow! There are a few design flaws which cause the set to need constant repair work:-The front piece attaches to the temple using two, small connectors. These small connectors cannot accommodate the weight of the front piece (be careful when lifting the set!), and if you were to move the front piece an inch to the left or right, it disconnects. Expect it to disconnect often.-The temple is tall and narrow, and the weight is not distributed well (top-heavy). If the temple is not on a completely flat surface, it will tip backwards. Expect it to disconnect often.-The temple is tall and narrow, and the weight is not distributed well (top-heavy). If the temple is not on a completely flat surface, it will tip backwards. To remedy this, we designed a tail-piece support to prevent the temple from tipping backwards.-The two thin rooftop adornments are held onto the temple by small connectors. These tend to pop off easily with little to no pressure (don't sneeze!).-Attaching the roof to the side support structures is slightly frustrating. There are six, independent supports (three per side). They need to be perfectly aligned when fastening the roof onto the temple. This could've been easier had the support tops been grouped together with two, flat 2 by 8's (I can't recall the exact #, going with my memory). If for any reason you need to take the roof off and reattach, it can be rather frustrating. All in all, my son loves the set, loves to play with it, but I find myself doing far more maintenance work on it than any other set.
The set is pretty great and the mini figures are really cool. But the one thing wrong with this set is the top trans-orange pieces. There’s nothing supporting them/keeping them upright. So sometimes if you move the set or try to ply with it, they’ll just flop down and it doesn’t even look okay when they are. I think a tad bit more detail could be added to the interior, but other than that I think the set is fine.
This set came damaged, not the fault of LEGO itself, was just a certain retailer that I won't name (this will not effect the review). First of all, this set looks really good. I really like the way that the red, black and cyan colours look together, it really makes the set look quite evil. I do really like the main feature, the opening door and the figures, which look really good, as most have recently.I do have some issues with it though, this set includes all three keytanas which I do appreciate a lot, but it has features for only two of them which I find strange. Cole's scythe weapon has a white bar underneath (not sure if that's accurate or not) I think it should've been translucent neon green instead. Lastly, why are the lanterns 1x1 cylinders? Wouldn't it ... MoreThis set came damaged, not the fault of LEGO itself, was just a certain retailer that I won't name (this will not effect the review). First of all, this set looks really good. Wouldn't it have been better with white mini figure heads?Overall, I'd give this a 8/10 as it looks good and fits the in-game theme very well but some minor things let this set down.
The Empire Temple of Madness is a real treat for any LEGO Ninjago enthusiast. While it may appear basic on the website, once built, it is something magnificent to behold. It contains six minifigures, including the exclusive Sushimi sushi chef, as well as three digi-ninja, the emperor Unagami, and an iconic Red Visor. The build is very intricate, with some pieces that, I admit, even I have never seen before. The Temple of Madness encompasses two main levels, as well as a pedestal at the top of the model that holds the final Key-tana. If twisted while on its resting place, the Key-tana causes the throne room’s (the main level) doors to open revealing what lies inside. If twisted while on its resting place, the Key-tana causes the throne room’s (the main level) doors to open revealing what lies inside. The throne room is decorated with bricks that resemble circuitry, and has, of course, Emperor Unagami’s throne that is able to pivot in a complete 360 degree circle. The second level has two rooms: the sushi kitchen and the arcade room. In the sushi kitchen is a box full of evil sushi monsters, which, if released, can wreak havoc on the steps leading to the kitchen. The arcade room contains a buildable Prime Empire arcade cabinet and three Prime swords on a weapons rack. The Temple of Madness is an excellent addition to one’s Prime Empire collection, and is a hidden gem among many, so I would advise that you secure this set before it soon sells out.
I purchased this set for my son and it is not very well thought out. He has had to redo the top part of the castle four times after spending all day on it. If something knocks off the top part you have to literally start over again because nothing can line up the top and the bottom with how the base is designed. I have been building Lego for 30 years and this is easily one of the most poorly designed sets I have ever experienced.
The set has a great characters that the kids love. The overall look appearance of the set is great but it’s lacking at its core, it’s foundational core. The set is not architected very well and very unstable. There are basically a lot of 1x1 and 2x1 pieces that are trying to hold the two main platforms together. Pieces very easily fall off this build since there’s not much holding them together. I don’t recommend for anyone, unless you use the Kragle.
The Temple of Madness is one our favorite sets from the Prime Empire Season. The color combinations are absolutely fantastic. It was little challenging to built for my 6 years old son, especially the alignment of the moving section that opens the door to reveal Unagami when you turn the sword. But it was easily with little help. This set kept him busy for several days to built (working about an hour a day). He loves playing with this set, and it is also a great display set.
