This thing suffers for one big reason:The selection of games and the inability to put new games on it is its biggest problem in my eyes. The majority of the 21 games included are indeed true classics which fully deserve to be on here. But some of the SNES's best games are very much absent, and it's unfortunate that the consumer does not get to choose what they want on their system.I don't understand why the Japanese version swapped out five of the games. Why not include all of them in all versions for a total of 26 games? For instance: I don't like Castlevania 4 very much, yet I am interested in trying out Legend of the Mystical Ninja. So I am very disappointed that I am stuck with the version of the SNES Mini that contains the one I didn't want.Additionally, Monsho ... MoreThis thing suffers for one big reason:The selection of games and the inability to put new games on it is its biggest problem in my eyes. So I am very disappointed that I am stuck with the version of the SNES Mini that contains the one I didn't want.Additionally, Monsho no Nazo being exclusive to the Japanese version is yet another irritation towards Fire Emblem series fans who have been waiting patiently for Nintendo to finally release the first six games worldwide - this was a perfect opportunity to release Monsho no Nazo, yet they removed it from the international version of the SNES Mini for basically no reason. I also find it annoying that most game series only have one game included - Mega Man X2 and X3 are absent, despite them being the natural next games to play after trying out MMX. The same goes for Donkey Kong Country - DKC2 is arguably the best of the three, yet we're stuck with only the first one.It would have been cool to see all three Fire Emblem games, all three DKC games, all three MMX games, all three Final Fantasy games, etc. It's annoying that you only get a taster, rather than the full suite.I'm also upset to see that Panel De Pon is not in the international version - the SNES Mini is lacking in the puzzle game genre without it. Maybe some other puzzle games such 'Tetris & Dr. Mario' or Super Puyo Puyo Tsu could have been included?Nintendo will hate to hear this, but the fan hackers have the right idea. Being able to install arbitrary SNES ROMs on this thing is an incredibly appealing prospect. If Nintendo wants to discourage this behaviour, then they should have made it easier to put the games we wanted on this thing in the first place. This thing also has stock issues, but everyone else has already beaten that dead horse a million times by now.Nintendo. The product that was sent is not an officially license Nintendo system. It’s a fake, you can tell the minute you turn it on it takes forever to start. I looked up how to spot a fake SNES classic on YouTube and I was verified with my assumption of it being fake. The parts inside like the power block are a cheap knockoff aftermarket block that you can pick up at a gas station. I am disappointed with the merchant's lack of authenticity verification and will start the return process.

This was a fantastic idea, you wish it included more titles, but hey it's enough to quell my nostalgia. Product is small so it doesn't take up much space, and easy to connect. The ability to save your progress on the system as well as in game is nice. It has multiple view options to choose from. And it's Nintendo quality, so if you just take a little bit of care with it, it might outlive you!

This is a great console for someone who doesn't want to fuss with raspberry pi's or emulation. It's plug and play and offers a portal to simpler time in gaming history. When gaming was about the fun and the experience, not the realism. The interface is bright, user friendly and has a classic 16 bit style theme song. It offers a few different visual options to make it more like the original, or more modern. The technical aspects of the options exceed my ability to describe. The only con I have identified is the length of the controller cord. 5 ft. just isn't long enough. in this day and age when everyone is accustomed to wireless controllers reverting back to a wired controller system can be annoying. I have to move a seat closer to the tv just to play as it doesn't reach to my couch. but this is a minimal issue. if you're playing at a desk with a monitor, you're golden. The game selection is fantastic. 21 classic games covering just a bout every game genre that SNES was famous for. Especially RPGs and Action RPGs. I would have loved to see Chrono Trigger included, but the selection offers plenty for fans of all kinds. The scarcity of the console drives the price up unfortunately, but I still think it's worth the cost for any fan of the SNES. I paid $145 plus tax. All in all,i'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to playing through every 1 of these classic games.
After having bought from new the NES mini and being very disappointed with it,selling it after a few months, I was skeptical about buying the SNES mini. However this is one of the best mini Consoles out there. Firstly the emulation is perfect. Unlike the NES the SNES is a better quality build. The game choices are outstanding. Buying this console gives you access to games not released in this region such as Super Mario RPG, Earthbound & Final Fantasy 3. If you looked to buy these complete on import, you would be looking at many times the price of this console for just 1. That it has so many great games from the PAL region as well is just a huge bonus. Again, these on thier own would cost more that this console for just 1, in some cases. Also you get an unreleased SNES game in Star Fox 2, is brilliant. You get 2 controllers with it also making it an instant hit for the multi player games like Mario Kart or F Zero. There is very little to say that isn't positive. Its a great console which is truly worth every penny.
Its very difficult to get hold of these in never used, in an unopened box and mint condition like the one I bought. I had to pay over the odds for it, but now they aren't being made any more I was happy to pay what I did for it. Its the best of all the mini consoles in my view even though its only got 21 games. All of the titles are classics so they are quality. I have a Sega Mega Drive Mini with double the amount of titles and this is still better than that hands down. Half of the games on that I don't like and the other half are okay. So glad I managed to get one of these.
Not an authentic unit from Nintendo. Darn close. You wouldn't know it but for a few minor details: - Generic AC adapter and HDMI cable - Color of controller connector is black, not gray - Serial number is printed on the box and starts with the wrong characters In retrospect, the labels covering up all trademarked material should've tipped me off, but I didn't think anything of it at the time Nothing against knock-offs, especially one this close to the real deal. The problem is that: - The item is listed as a Nintendo product, without any indication to it being a knock-off (stickers on trademarked material aside) - Cheap knock-offs and other 3rd party systems with even more games are available for a lot less - OS seemed less responsive than the one in the authentic ... MoreNot an authentic unit from Nintendo. The emulation quality is close to perfect and considerably better than the NES Classic, particularly in relation to audio. The selection of games is never going to please everyone but a broad range of genres is covered and most of the generation-defining games are here. Mario Kart, Link to the Past, Streetfighter 2 Turbo, and Star Fox are all expected inclusions but it's a real pleasure to see genre classics like Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy VI and even Earthbound making the cut. It's worth noting that the games are all based on US NTSC roms, even on a European model SNES Classic Mini. The inclusion of two controllers as standard is also very welcome, as you can hardly play SF2 Turbo properly without them. The controllers are high quality and almost indistinguishable from the original controllers. I have several SNES clone controllers already but none of them feel quite this good.HDMI and controller cables are included but the UK edition does NOT include a power plug. However, since it is powered by a USB cable (included), you can plug this into almost anything. Any USB charger, game console, computer, etc will be fine. The amount of power needed is minimal so even the USB ports on most TVs will work.As well as save states for each game, you can also rewind the last 30 seconds of gameplay, allowing you to retry trick sections of games. You'll appreciate this when playing the challenging Ghouls n' Ghosts. The design is beautiful. The build quality is excellent. The range of games is impressive and the quality of emulation and firmware is top notch. The only way this could be any better is if it included Chrono Trigger and Zombies Ate My Neighbours.
The super nintendo is one of my favourite consoles of all time. The 21 games included here are all great and some of them are masterpieces. These games still look great today, as long as you are not standing too close to your TV screen, I recommend buying a cable extension for your controller. I already own a super nintendo with most of the original cartridges for these games somewhere in my parents' attic, but it's not easy to set up and play on a modern HD TV. For this reason, I really enjoy playing on the super nintendo mini, for me it's the best way to enjoy these games with a brand new controller and the possibility to save at any moment. There are 3 display options but my favourite is "CRT filter" which makes the games look softer on an HD screen. Of course this system is not perfect, the cables could have been longer and I wish there would have been at least 30 games included (with Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3, Pilowings, Super Mario All Stars, Axelay, Chrono Trigger, Demon's Crest and others). However, the selection included will keep you coming back for hundreds of hours. So far I've had a few hours on Mario Kart, finished Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox (routes 1 and 2) and Castlevania IV and I enjoyed every minute of it. I'm in the middle of Super Metroid, which is still as thrilling today as it was 23 years ago. I'm looking forward to playing games like Earthbound or Super Mario RPG that were never released in Europe, and of course Star Fox 2.If you are nostalgic of the super nintendo or are just curious, I really recommend getting the super nintendo classic mini. Many classics like Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Zelda and Super Metroid are still worth playing today.
I enjoy playing my snes mini. Also, my nephew who is Autistic loves it as well. The games on the snes mini bring back memories of the 90's (when I was a kid I used to play the snes for days on end) I decided to buy a pre-owned one rather than a brand new one. It's working perfectly fine and I paid half the money so it's good value for money. Just be aware the control pads on the snes mini are very short so you might want to buy an extra long HDMI cable (the seller kindly put one in with my one)
