It's a masterpiece of a game with a great soundtrack, awesome boss fights, and rewarding challenges and gameplay! It seems to me that it's easier than the original. They balance out the difficulty with giving you a TON of bananas and balloons for any number of optional challenges. My only nit pick is the barrel riding levels and the mine car levels aren't as difficult as they used to be. I preferred them to be instant death if you make a mistake because you fell like a BOSS when you're finally able to pull them off while getting all the KONG letters and the puzzle pieces. Though, I get why thy tamed it down a little. I'm not mad because it's extremely fun.

I have only played it a little so far but I'm very happy with it. It's a little too hard for my 3 yo, but I probably shouldn't have expected it to be playable. It is actually very playable as a team game with a younger kid (as long as one of you knows what they're doing :) ). If you enjoyed Donkey Kong Country Returns, you will definitely like this. I miss the Kremlins from the original Rare games, but all the Kongs are present and lots of fun to play. Funky is especially fun.My one complaint is that Nintendo just keeps repackaging old games and charging full price. But hey, it's an awesome game and worth buying if you never played it.

Going back to the original Donkey Kong Country on SNES, this series for me has consistently been the best platforming experience, with fun, challenging, original levels. I never got around to playing the original release of Tropical Freeze, so I'm glad I could finally pick this up (although it is a bit annoying to pay full price for a re-release). It's exactly what I expected in the best way possible - more challenging, incredibly fun platforming. Highly recommend for long-time fans of the series as well as those who have never experienced DKC.

I have a Switch and rarely use it. I have lots ofbgreat games but, i mostly let my kids play. This Donkey Kong game is absolutely awesome. Ive played everyday since i purchased it. Simple controller options and challenges for one or two players. I cant get enough. The design is excellent and exciting. I love it.
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze is one of the best 2D platformers of all time. It belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of the genre along with your finest Marios and Sonics. Seriously, it's that good.The brilliant music by David Wise alone warrants a purchase for the game. Combine that with some of the most clever level design and beautiful graphics you will find on the Switch, and you have an all time classic. The gameplay is challenging but utterly satisfying to a pitch-perfect degree. I love Mario, but this game stomps all over New Super Mario Bros. U. It's a treasure.
The game is more challenging than the original 3 Donkey Kong games. It plays pretty similar to the super Nintendo version. Donkey Kong Country was one of my first super Nintendo games. Third one brings back memories and how frustrating it is to keep dying. A couple of levels, I've had to shut the game off and come back to it. It is blast though.
Played it for an hour or so with my brother in law. Didn't find it fun. Lots of trial and error on very hard parts, which is many parts. It made my head and eyes hurt. Very difficult platforming. Didn't find it very charming, lots of monkey sounds and slapstick comedy. I'm selling this game immediately. Time is precious, and there are other better games to play. I find few platformers that compare to Mario Galaxy, the best ever in my opinion.
Love this game so far! All the levels are colorful and very detailed and long full of fun collectibles! One level I hated so far was level 2-K from world 2 earned after getting all the KONG letters in world 2. That game contains pro level precision for such a short level yet even after suffering for 45 minutes I passed it, but I still have to get the leftover puzzle pieces left lol. Fun and challenging game but has an easier mode for anyone. Recommend for any newer gamer and even pro gamers!
