It is an excuse of a game which will put off all die hard fans of Wii Sports Resort. The whole family have been looking for something to replace Wii Sports Resort and so far all games on the Switch have failed to live up to the playability of the Wii Sports Resort and fun factor. Switch Sports ranks somewhere near the doldrums with it's limited play options, what I can only describe as stupid, pointless and unrealistic games (e.g. soccer) and volleyball. I have wanted to play a modern 'Wii Sports' type game with full online support for a long time, and this title is scratching that itch. I especially love that online is the primary focus (the first menu item), and there is a long-term customization path with new items to work toward every week. I also love that there is Ranked Mode for every sport, with an option to toggle it off when you like. This has just the right amount of incentive and goals to work toward to keep me playing for months to come as long as things continue to trickle out every week. The presentation is slick and clean and I like that you can still import Miis if you want but the newer avatars are a nice update. Soccer is the standout here, feeling like an entire developed sub game, while badminton get repetitious quickly due to feeling like I have very limited options - tennis is somewhat similar as I feel like I cannot perform drop shots or lob shots to spice up the balance. In general, Tennis/Volleyball could be a lot more engaging if we had the option to fully move our characters around, and/or tennis with 1v1 with full character movement.Lastly, it can be unclear what kinds of movements are required to perform certain moves and it can feel inconsistent. I never had issues with this in Wii Sports Resort/Club but here I find my character specifically not performing the movements I am consciously doing, especially in Chambara, which severely dampens my experience when I'm trying to play against players who know what they're doing. Having SOME kind of way to access all of the 'tips' that show up on the loading screen would work (Smash Bros. Ultimate has a menu like this) and would at least help!

I miss the things that made the older titles in the Wii Sports series so great. Medals / Stamps, or some sort of challenge mode / collectibles. The game lacks the āmini-gamesā that were present in previous titles too. The special bowling mode is really good, Iād like to be able to select this when playing online though rather than being randomly thrown into matches and not knowing which game Iām going to play. I like the unlockables a lot, do think that their needs to be more customisation for those who want to play only offline. At the moment it seems as if they are unable to enjoy the game properly without buying a subscription, which isnāt fair in my opinion. Other than these things which I feel are missing - the gameplay is solid and the online has been very stable for me. Itās got all of the charm and playability of Wii Sports without so many unlockables and secrets, which is a shame.
Pros: It's the classic Wii Sports game, re-imagined for Nintendo Switch. A good range of games in there, although it would still benefit from a couple more.Cons: To play online, you need a Nintendo online subscription - which is fair enough; but you need a separate subscription for EVERY player if they want to unlock the bonus items that you earn by playing online. That feels really harsh, given we paid Ā£40 for the game, and already pay for our Nintendo online subscription - unlock that for all players, and we'd be happy - until then it feels like some of the content is hidden away behind an unfair pay-wall.
Pros: Great update from Wii Sports version but really miss wakeboarding and archery. Grandkids love it too. Actually like playing golf on this switch but hated playing on Wii lol. Golf was a recent addition to Sports and well appreciated. Wasn't interested in any other games just the sports. If you find exercising boring, use this to at least get you off the couch or office chair when working from home all day.Cons: Needs wakeboard and archery.

There are also nuanced/hidden moves that it doesn't show you in tutorials which gives the play some depth, but is also unbalanced if there's match ups between someone that knows all the secrets and some one who doesn't.There's also the lacking rewards for playing online - you just unlock more clothes and accessories for your avatar. My kids like this and it will keep some people going, but why not also have some leaderboards or weekly competitions, or badges that show things you've achieved such as 5 strikes in a row, or win/loss ratio or something else?So for my family of 5, at best 4 of us can play at once, but then once we go online, it's down to 2 of us, and then within 2 out of 5 of the games it's one person by themselves... consider that before buying, if you had a different expectations of multiplayer as I did.

I donāt know why it isnāt related to any of the sports but demons of all things is not ok. My kids are young. I donāt want them to see that. They donāt need to see that. I got this as a Christmas present. The reason of the title "Very long Games" and the *** is because the new golf sport game on it is very long with 18 holes and can get a bit boring when it is your first time playing it. It is the same with the Tennis sport, because when you press "BEST OF 3" or "BEST OF 5", it is also quite long then as well. The direction the ball is going to go on Golf is controlled by when you twist your wrist. It never works! So, Golf is the hardest out of all of them to me. And, in Football, you need to have at least 2 pairs of Joy-Cons and at least 2 pairs of straps to play it in Multiplayer.
