I received NIOXIN system Kit 1 as part of a free sample program. I have been using it for several weeks and I have noticed that my scalp feels cleaner, more moisturized and less itchy. I have not noticed a big difference in the thickness of my hair, but I only wash my hair every other day, so results could take longer. My hair looks a little less frizzy as well. The shampoo is blue in colour and smells slightly minty. It gives my scalp a very light tingling feeling that is refreshing. The first time I applied it to my scalp and hair the tingling was more of an intense burning sensation and was very uncomfortable. It was a relief to rinse it off. Subsequent applications have been much less intense and does not make me uncomfortable. My hair feels moisturized and it helps untangle my hair. The leave-in treatment is a spray that you apply directly to the scalp and smooth through your hair. It also makes my scalp tingle lightly and is not uncomfortable. It leaves my hair smelling lightly of menthol or a minty scent. My hair does not appear much thicker, but I have noticed some increased growth in my baby hairs.

Shampoo: the first time i used still product you really feel the peppermint tingly on your scalp and back. Peppermint smell is powerful but dont worry your hair wont smell like peppermint the next day. It does have a natural peppermint smell. The shampoo is easy to use it lathers up nicely and remove well oils and product built up. Conditionner. Feels creamy on the hair and gives a nice hydration again it has that peppermint smell and tingly feeling. I like to apply the product after shampooing and leaving is on for a couple of minutes The treatment is different im not used to putting a hair lotion on the roots of my hair. I started using the thinning hair line treatments immediately. I only use this product 3 or 4 times a week now its mostly for maintenance. The Nioxin hair line really works!! You just have to use the products consistently and stick with them. I wish I would have found this sooner.

I don't use many products containing sulfates, but I'm not extremely against them either, and this product contains them. The peppermint oil definitely added to the fresh feeling. I wouldn't want to use this shampoo without conditioner or a leave in treatment afterwards, as my hair gets quite tangled. Whether it's the alcohols or the peppermint oil in the product, or just that it sits on my skin more than other conditioners (I normally do not use conditioner on my scalp), it is a bit too much for me. I do not have sensitive skin, but the cooling effect lingers longer than I like. The Scalp & Hair Treatment leave-in is easy to use and control with the nozzle of the bottle, and the best part is that it didn't show at all when my hair dried. With my hair being fine and on the thinner side, some things can really look flat or weird even if I don't use much. This product however absorbs well and my hair looks good. I was expecting that it would have minoxidil as an ingredient, but it does not. My favourite product is the shampoo, least favourite is the conditioner. Since they're meant to be used as a system, I'm not sure I would buy this again. I liked that using this kit made me more aware of the condition and treatment of my scalp itself, and not just my hair. That along with the products has made me pay more attention and gives more lift to my hair, and has reduced the oiliness I can get at the roots. Do I have more volume or hair growth after a month? I'd say it is negligible.

I haven't noticed any difference in the strength of my hair, but I definitely don't come away with multiple strands of hair in my hand when I run my hand through my hair. I am going to continue using the products as they appear to be doing something right in helping to keep the hair that I have on my head instead of going down the drain.

Again, I don't have much to compare this set to as I hardly ever venture out in haircare products, but I was extremely surprised by how much better this shampoo/conditioner was than the drugstore ones I've used in the past! I think the packaging is quite simple and nothing to write home about, but the feeling of both the shampoo and the conditioner on my scalp is a gentle, minty tingling that I absolutely love the feeling of. The small pumps is quite convenient. It gives a little extra protection for hair thinning (wish there was an heat protection at the same time)! I received this product as part of a 'free sample program' and was looking forward to trying it as I recently had twin boys and noticed that my hair was thinning and falling out more than usual. I have never tried a system for thinning hair, so I can't compare it to anything other than my usual shampoo and the most striking difference is the smell. It's a minty smell, which for me personally, I did not like. I'm sure there is a specific reason for them to use this smell, but I wasn't a fan. I used the system for about a month, and I still have lots more product to use, so you won't have to replace bottles quickly. However, I don't wash my hair everyday and my hair sits around my jawline currently. Did I notice a difference in this past month?
