$86.36

(49 reviews)

The NiSi 62mm HUC IR Neutral Density Filter ND64 (1.8) 6 Stop is specially designed to reduce the amount of light entering the camera by 6 stops. This filter is made from high-quality optical glass with nano coating to prevent losing any single bit of detail. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the 1.8 density provides a 6 stop reduction in light from entering the lens. The ND Filter creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control the depth of field and convey movement in your images. The ND64 6 stops ND filter is generally used during the golden hour to create exposures of 1-2 minutes for smooth water or clouds. A 6 Stop is also great for capturing dynamic water while retaining some texture before the golden hour. By using neutral density filters the camera is vulnerable to infrared light which will cast the unwanted red color to the photos when shooting at a small aperture. The added infrared protection coating layer to this filter helps to eliminate the infrared light through the lens to bring back the natural color.

I cannot believe the depth and saturation of color of my sunsets using this filter. NiSi also has a free APP called NiSi Filters that helps you chose the correct shutter speed. This takes some of the mystery out of using it.

Does what is supposed to.

Before buying this filter a saw lots of reviews of other cheaper filters and I decided to pay the extra money for this one after a saw the reviews. And it worth every single dollar. This filter fills very high quality because of the materials used and has no vignetting or color shift, at least for my 30mm lens and up. You want something with excellent performance and don’t want to break the bank, buy from NiSi.

Excellent 6 stop ND filter and construction and optics A-1
23 January 2023

I have this and the 3 stop for landscape and sunrise/sunset work I love these filters. They are constructed excellent and the optics of them are absolutely stunning! They fit my 77 mm Nikon lenses perfectly and give me great results! Highly recommended !!

Extremely well made and works well.
18 December 2022

The NiSi 6-stop Nano filter lets one prolong the exposure speed. When mounting a camera on a tripod, one can use long exposures to flatten the appearance of waves on a lake or harbor, or give clouds in the sky the appearance of movement. The filter is well made and fits well to Nikon lenses.

Just right
13 April 2022

When three stops are too little, and 10 stops are too much, six stops are just right. Kind of like Goldilocks' porridge experience.

Works as anticipated
8 March 2021

Used it for the first time today to help darken storm clouds and appear more misty. Have not not used in any other situations. As day became lighter, I switched to a 9 stop ND filter to maintain the 30 to 40 second exposure value.

Good filter and helps to slow down motion in sunny conditions. Easy to install have not notice any color issues in post processing.

Works great. No color shift that I can notice. Just as good as some of the more expensive NDs.
