Another Entertaining Jack Reacher Novel

NO PLAN B by Lee Child and Andrew Child is another satisfying Jack Reacher novel. This time, Reacher steps in when the local police are not willing to investigate a murder that he witnessed. The plot was a little drawn out at first, but picked up speed half-way through the book. I didn't expect the ending and wish the authors had revealed the depth of the crimes earlier because it was so interesting. Jack Reach fans will not be disappointed. And, this book is also available in large print!!!

Good, But Not as Good as Previous Reacher Books

I've read every Jack Reacher novel and have come to expect very exciting thrillers from Lee Child. No Plan B started out with an exciting opening, but lost steam while introducing the myriad of characters and side storylines. It was a tad choppy, as I found myself having to go back and reread where I left off because it jumped around a bit. I could also tell there were two writers...it felt like one author wrote about Reacher, while the other wrote about Jed and the minor characters. And, they were slapped together without the normal cohesion that Lee Child has in his books with so many characters and storylines. Not his best, but certainly a good read once you get about halfway through. I an sure No Plan B will be a great read.
6 January 2023

As of yet I haven't started reading this book I have heard that it is very good reviews so I am looking forward to reading No Plan B very soon, and I know that I will not be disappointed as I am a true Jack Reacher fan. I would love to know where Lee Child gets all his amazing storylines? That is the reason I give the book 5 stars as I know it will be Brill!

Lost the plot.
23 November 2022

Since Lee Child has shared the writing duties with his son the Last 2 Reacher novels have not reached the level of writing as the earlier books. In this instalment Reacher is just a name not a character. Two other story lines are woven into the book but appear to be padding and not integral the plot, in fact they are just an annoying distraction . I do not recommend this book or the previous one either. Poorly written and bad reads.

No Plan B

Huge fan of Reacher series over the years, but the writing slipped these past two books, characterised by short, choppy sentences with too much description. The authors lack an understanding regarding the use a comma. Also, the plot is far too unimaginable, even for fiction. Other writers like Michael Connely and John Sandford get better over time, but Andrew Reacher is just phoning it in. Won't read another Reacher book until it is in a bargain bin. What happened?

Reacher is slowly evolving
21 February 2023

The brothers Child are gently evolving Jack Reacher's amazing adventures. Not in a bad way, at all, but obviously working towards the time when Andrew will take over completely from Lee and continue the series on his own terms. It had to happen.

This book is as good as all the others in the Jack Reacher series. If you enjoy this sort of page turning excitement you will not be disappointed....enjoy.

An average experience for me. Reacher certainly hasn't been the same since the announcement of an author transition. When Lee finally releases the reins I worry for my favourite series.

continuous action

I was honored to receive an ARC from NetGalley and Random House Publishing-Ballantine. This opinion is my own. Maybe, just maybe not quite as good as his other books but STILL a 4 star read. I have read each book about Jack Reacher and it may be that this book is not as analytical when it comes to detailing Jack Reacher's thoughts. This book is more fighting, hand to hand combat, as Reacher uses force to get where he needs to go. And less romance! As always though, it was an adventure.

Gerrardsville, Colorado. One tragic event. Two witnesses. Two conflicting accounts. One witness sees a woman throw herself in front of a bus - clearly suicide. The other witness is Jack Reacher. And he sees what really happened - a man in grey hoodie and jeans, swift and silent as a shadow, pushed the victim to her death, before grabbing her bag and sauntering away.Reacher follows the killer, not knowing that this was no random act of violence. It is part of something much bigger, sinister, a secret conspiracy, with powerful people on the take, enmeshed in an elaborate plot that leaves no room for error. If any step is compromised, the threat will have to be quickly and permanently removed. But when the threat is Reacher, there is No Plan B.
