The NH-U12A chromax.black is an all-black version of Noctua’s award-winning NH-U12A premium-quality quiet CPU cooler. This was a good alternative to a water cooled AIO. The only slight problem was that the position of the fan on the ram side of the cooler had to be adjusted to clear the ram.

A recently swapped out a number of items in my pc to make it perform better and quieter. With the noctua installed, it runs so quiet I could now hear the sound of my mechanical hard-drive spin up and down (which I subsequently replaced with NVME) From other reviews I was expecting better thermal performance than Im seeing with a 13700KF, however, we are in the middle of summer and it's getting really hot in the room. The asymmetrical design can cause install issues for the ininitiated. I thought I installed it in the wrong way. I flipped it 180 only to find I had it right the first time.

The original cooler wasn’t cutting it and hitting 90 degrees even under lite workloads.The NH-U12A was super easy to install, is super quite in operation and keeping my CPU at under 50 degrees even under very high workloads.Definitely worth the investment.

This small, performant CPU cooler is on par with a 280 mm AIO I had previously. I switched out the Noctua fans with two Phanteks T30s and haven't looked back. It's even quieter than the AIO at every load level. The compact design and performance does come at a cost but well worth it.
Big beast though exactly what I wanted keeping the CPU cool. Easy to install, past included, brace for the motherboard & fitting kit - including Y connector so both fans can take power from the same header.
Simply not happy with this. Bought it since I'd seen to many good reviews of it and figured it would be a better and more durable option than my watercooled setup. What I found was a CPU (i12900k) that constantly thermal throttled, crashed, overall system instability and CPU temps that reached 90 degrees c under almost no load. Ripped the thing out and put my Corsair h150i back in - CPU hasn't been above 50c since.
By fay the most epic of all cpu coolers. Had a Prolimatech Megahalems and although good it was not enough for my i7, switched to a Dark Rock Pro and it was an amazing heater but rubbish cooler. Idle temps on an i9 12900ks were 64c. I switched to this Noctua and immediately i average 34c and under load is always sub 70c.
I purchased this cooler along with a white chromax cover to work with a black - white build.It performs well beyond what my research indicated it might and looks great.Keeps an overclocked i7 8700K incredibly cool and does so quietly.The service and pricing was it's usual high standard from PCCG. Really good cooler. Much smaller than the D15, looks good in the case, cools really well and it's quiet.
I think liquids and electronics don't go together, so after doing some research online I found the Noctua NH-U12A to be an excellent all rounder, which it was, and I'm not disappointed.
