love the profile and color of these jigs. but i think the wire and hardware is a bit light. especially for the price. compared to the oti jigs, side by side you can see how much more heavy duty the oti jigs hardware is. i do like some of the nomad colors a lot though, the crimson, pink and chartreuse glow are all really nice looking

I purchased 2 off 400 gram jigs. I received 2 40 gram jigs. I have tried to get in touch with BCF on numerous occasions but to no avail. After further investigation I have found that this size jig does not exsist! I’ll happily take 2 off 320 gram jigs that do exsist! BCF really need to get back to me, they are still advertising this product.

This is a very good jig, especially when factoring in the cost. I tend to use these when I am fishing heavy structure or reefs when I know fish are holding close or deep inside the structure and there is a high likelihood for lost tackle.

I really like this jig. I have only used it fishing deep for blackfin, but it out produces other jigs I have thrown. Excellent color patterns and flutters really nice. Im sure it would work on anything you throw it at.
Have been very successful with both the Gypsy and Buffalo models from Nomad. Suggestion: Prefer to attach the hook at “head” of the Buffalo jig
I was in Japan about 10 years ago when I first saw these jigs in a BCF Japanese equivalent store. I bought some and found they were dynamite. When they finally became popular here In Australia I was at my local BCF eager to get more. Either fast surface retrieve or deep jigging they seem irresistible to fish. My only complaint would be the braid attaching the hook is easy prey for mackeral and other toothy specimens. I’ve always got at least 3 in every tackle box.
These things work well. Nannygai, coral trout, cod, cobia are just some of the species I’ve caught with them. My only negative would be the braid leader for the hooks. Mackerel of any species will happily snip through it.
Grouper fishing was slow with live bait. So I decided to try my buffalo jig, 80 gram silver with glow stripes, on my Ugly Stik Tiger Elite jigging spinning rod. I had never used a jig anything like this before, and didn’t expect it to work. I only tried the jig because I was bored. I was fishing in about 42 feet of water in the north eastern Gulf of Mexico. After a few minutes of jigging, a 28 inch gag grouper slammed the jig so hard that I could not turn the reel for a few moments. In addition to the grouper, I caught two grunts and a sea bass on the jig. I plan on using jigs more often in the future.
This is a great tuna jig because it is basically a beefier nomad gypsy. The beefier profile makes the jig heavier but gives it a smaller profile which allows jigs to get down deeper but keep the profile of a smaller baitfish. This is great for finicky tuna that are down deeper.
I've been wanting to get these items from Nomad Design for a long time. Now that I have them and use them I can confirm that they are very high quality fishing lures. With a balance of weight and strength that when thrown and receives strong bites makes it very durable and versatile. Also, because of its striking appearance for any trophy game fish, that I really like and make it very effective.
