Nomad Design Chug Norris Popper 120mm / Silver Green Mackerel
The unique body shape and balance of the Chug Norris means that is is ideal for a huge range of species, from small freshwater applications through to the biggest predators offshore. It is super easy to pop, it hangs in the water and won’t “pull out” when popped. This popper is all about being easy to use, and it does not require much effort to get a very big pop due to the unique body shape and hydrodynamic design. Our Australian friends are known for many things, gregarious personalities, sense of humor, saltwater fishing enthusiasts, appreciation for good beer, and an absolute hatred for things that don’t do what they’re supposed to do. Well, in the world of tough poppers, capable of dealing with the toughest fish in any sea, Nomad developed the Chug Norris (Yep, its a play on Chuck’s tough guy persona). The Chug Norris is tough, they’re not thru wired – the darn things have a machined stamped stainless steel plate inside the hard durable foam core construction. It’s one of the strongest and toughest lures made, and is up to any challenge. Understand, these lures were designed from the ground up to deal with HUGE GT’s, tuna and kings. You’ll get a huge pop out of these lures due to the unique body shape and hydrodynamic design. You can work the lure for both big and subtle small pops, even twitching it across the surface. Each lure has been designed for for its intended use, in this case big, tough GT’s. They are made to be very well balanced and tested to work perfectly with the chosen single BKK hooks.

I bought some Nomad top water lures to try out on the bluewater outside the bar on the Goldcoast. Had unbelievable success. Everythings from trevally, bonito, school mackerel etc.. goes for them. I love the colours on them. I bought the Holo Ghost Shad, bleeding mullet & the Chug Norris Popper. Always great success but very expensive when you lose them.

Worked well for top water casting, catching a mixed bag of pelagic species of the edge of the reefs. Gives a good spray and splash motion and able to be cast a great distance.

Heavy lure at the back. Perfectly weighted and great pops although, It broke after the second cast. It snapped behind the eyes where the neck is narrow. I did throw it along a rock wall and it might have hit it on the perfect angle to snap.

I have a few versions of this popper for Stripers/bluefish, Tuna, Roosterfish/cuberas. This popper is my favorite popper because it moves so much water when popped that really gets the fish going. The popper can also be worked in a few different ways making it easy to switch up your retrieve. It can be worked with either short hard pops or long drags. The lure creates a massive bubble trail when popped with a long drag.
Nice little popper. I like the colour and have used it few times. Had a follower but no strike yet.
Was looking for replacements for my old timber poppers that have seen better daysExcellent quality and overall constructionDidn't even know that Nomad made poppers this smallWork them fast, work them slow or walk the dog with themThe bloop is absolutely insaneWill definitely be stocking up on these bad boys
Same as the other color popper, useless, jumping all day at every speed. Beautiful lure but needs to go back to drawing board for high speed trolling.
Hello BCF friends.I use the nomad chug norris brand of lures all the time, and although they cost more then others on the market in the lure section, they are hands down in my opinion the best you can throw on a line. pop for big GT, or Barra in the gulf. The quality and finish is overall great quality, and even after being smashed a few times on sharp teeth they still seem to manage to hold there colours well. I have every one they makeThe bleeding mullet is my choice hands down sure hook up emery time.Happy fishing rip roar. Ben
Great size popper for all surface feeding fish. Has enough weight to get a long cast on heavy tackle when you need a smaller bait for big fish. This is a tough lure built to handle GT and Kings.
Poppers are nice lures because they make a lot of commotion on the water, which attracts fish. Australians know their fishing, Nomads are known to be very effective lures. I gave it a no on value because they're very expensive, and if you lose one, it hurts! so make sure your connections are solid
