really inspirational bit of kit. can play straight out of the box and get into the groove with no fuss. super easy to navigate and some fantastic original drum sounds. pads are responsive and bouncy. solid construction- feels well made. I definitely need to get a kick pedal to go with this though. this is going to take my productions to a new level I think cos being able to add the feel of playing live will make the programmed beats feel more organic. I wish it had 6 audio outputs though!

Best choice I've ever made!!

I am absolutely in love with this machine. Great sound, easy to make songs straight away out of the boxit also easy enough to create your own drum kit and save it in a memory bank to use anytime you need it. Awesome next delivery service from PMT even at two days before Christmas. I'm really pleased to make this choice!

Easy to use.

Great sounds, mainly synth sound, very clear and open. Small screen, but there is a editor Had this one b-stock for a nice price. Normally I think the price is a little to high. Nice small unit, I use it in a hybrid drumstel.

Fabulous Machine

I have owned three of these over the years for use on various projects. The quality of the sounds are unparalleled because they are real time and not multi layers samples. You can alter the sounds endlessly and create sounds that no one else has. Dont expect this to be a complete drum set although it can realistically create snares, toms and kicks with cymbals sounding somewhat electronic. The only negative I could scrape up is that the rubber pads show wear quite quickly so I recommend some sort of pad protector if that could bother you. You can see what I mean in some of the YouTube videos online. Snares and kicks are worth the purchase alone with the melodic sounds being phenomenal. Have fun with this machine!

Great for hybrid drumming

Really great drum synth. Amazing dynamic sound engine. Not a great stand alone unit, but amazing for adding to a hybrid set up or for working on electronic music.

Review of Nord Drum 3P

Solid instrument. Sensitive enough to be played comfortably with the hands. Sometimes there does seem to be some background noise particularly when played at low volumes. This can be mitigated somewhat by using sticks.

Review of Nord Drum 3P 6-Channel Percussion Pad Synthesizer

Solidly made piece of kit with superb sound, as one would expect from Nord.I do wish it had more bells and whistles for the price though. Things like separate outs, better delay editing, a better display/screen with more detail, electronic hi-hat input would make it so much nicer to work with. Lastly, while it's a synthesizer with incredible sound design capabilities, the drum sounds can be very realistic sounding except for the hi-hats and I wish it could get closer to a realistic hat sound.All that aside, it's an absolutely fantastic machine and I love it! The points above come down to value for money but ultimately I have no complaints.

The drum synth of my dreams!

Pros:Built like a tank. Thin, portable (about the size of a 12" pizza, so it can easily fit in a backpack). Extremely responsive, expressive, and sensitive. Easy to use menu (left knob with a combination of right shift button and multiple other buttons in the center). Sooooo many settings to have fun with (sensitivity, reverb, tone, delay, and many many more). Since this is a synth, you can create the drum sounds you need. Sound quality is off the charts, you'd swear it's samples, but no, it's all created on the fly. The vast majority of factory presets are very usable. I love that is has a trig button to test a preset sound without having to hit one of the drum pads. It has a 3/8" headphone jack, so you can practice without disturbing the neighbors. B&H hooked it up. They got me this awesome digital drum synth in no time. Once I opened it up and plugged it in the magic began. All of the preprogrammed sounds are so inspiring, and they are easy to tweak once you flick through the manual. It's easy to get the hang of, and it's easy to create your own kits. Just be sure to keep the manual handy so you can know what you're doing. The manual is also how all manuals should be. Not long, but thoroughly explains everything. Another thing you should consider with this synth is a solid kick pedal. I picked up a roland KT-10 and highly recommend it.
