Nordace Eclat - Light & Durable Backpack | 18 L, Color: Black | Smart Backpack for Travel

I was planning to buy the siena when i stumbled upon this eclat backpack. I ended up buying eclat. Thinking about it for weeks, and i regret nothing. It's super cute, love the grey+pink combination, it fits a lot of things, and the laptop compartment fits my ROG zephyrus G15 (15inch) laptop, it's really hard to find a cute backpack that can fit a big laptop, usually the design is really manly, so I'm really in love with this one. Used it on a day trip, it can fit a loooot of things and is strong enough to handle the weight. Just nice it rained while i was using it, and water doesn't goes through. It's not entirely waterproof, as the outer cloth a bit wet, but it's not like it's really water absorbent as well, so it's pretty good! I bought this backpack for my exchange in Australia due to all the smart pockets, charging opportunities, and the hidden pocket in the back. I'm using it a couple of years later as my workbag and weekend travel bag. This bag is magic; you can fit so many things; I fit my laptop and all work stuff, plus a lunch box and workout gear. + all the other small things you need during the day. Even when the bag is heavy, it feels good on your back, which is nice as I'm a short person, and most bags with this capacity are too long for the back and make wearing it uncomfortable. I've got a lot of compliments for the backpack and people asking where it's from. Perfect for left handers! So often the pockets or zips are on the wrong side, but I use the hidden pocket on this all the time because it's on the left and I can reach it! Might not be so good for the other 90% of you, but great for the minority. The only thing this is missing is the loop on the back for it to fit on a suitcase, but I took it through St Pancras with the straps crossed over the back and it was perfectly stable. Great layout, great waterproofing.

The padding inside the straps is thick and comfortable. Cons: The biggest downside is that the bag is pretty heavy on its own. With just my laptop and a few small books in there it becomes uncomfortable to carry after 10 minutes. The straps being quite close together might not help with this either. Another small downside is that the zipper is on the backside of the bag in stead of the front. I’ve been using this backpack since 2019. It’s been my staple through many countries and it still looks brand new. I’ve been rough with it and overstuffed it many times. No wear and tear whatsoever. So many pockets and places to organize my things. I’m 5’1” and find it comfortable, even after hiking all day. My next challenge is to travel with just this bag.

I've only used this 3 times and so far so good however how do you know when the USB charger needs charging and when charging, how do you know when it's fully charged? One design idea - the secret pocket zip to be turned around so to open it you pull it up, as pulling up zips are harder then pulling them down so would reduce pickpockets. Also, the middle pocket on the front doesn't keep items dry when it's raining as there isn't a flap etc to stop rain rolling in from above.

...Almost 5, I have been using this for several months now professionally.PROSAttractive. Quality. Functional. Top handles feel very natural. Shoulder straps do not hurt.CONSCould use reinforcement in some of the structure. While I do Love the softness of the bag, a ‘floppy’ feel makes the debit/credit holders sometimes difficult to work with. I would also like to see some padding at the bottom to protect laptop.Lastly, side pockets cannot be filled not internally and externally. So if you have two water bottles, the side stretch pockets Inside are difficult/impossible to use.

The bag is also made of a really durable material, and you can feel the quality with the weight of it. I was actually surprised how luxurious the bag looked and felt. I usually opt for lighter bags, but this one is well-designed so that no matter how little or much you put in it, once you slip it on your back, it sits comfortably on your back and doesn't feel heavy even when filled to capacity. (That similar bag I mentioned before used to strangely fold over with a gap at my back when it had only a few items and was extremely uncomfortable.) A few minor cons: I wish it came with a luggage strap!! but I actually bought one so I could hook it to the top of my suitcase. Also while the two side water bottle pockets can fit my hefty water bottle, it's not super ideal because it can be a tight fit. I also never use the pocket that has the USB charging port. If you're looking for a nice daily backpack for your commute or travels, I would definitely recommend this one!

First, what I like: comfy straps, large capacity, very useful pockets, and holds its shape Now, why I gave three stars: I started using this bag in September, and by April the left strap is ripping off the backpack. As a uni student, I do stuff some heavy things in the bag (laptop, ipad, lunch, bottle), but it’s nothing my previous bags couldn’t handle. I can also see that the strap fabric is stretching longer in general. It might be the tradeoff for having soft, comfortable straps, but I wish it would last longer. It’s a beautiful bag, but make sure to be extra extra careful putting on the backpack and don’t swing it by the straps too much (as I did while commuting), or else it won’t last :(

The bag it self is very good quality and holds up very well considering that I use it everyday and I carry heavy lids in it as a student. However one major drawback for me is that the zipper and other parts made out of the leather break and peel very quickly and affects the overall aesthetic and overall function of the bag. After a year of use, the zipper broke off. I would expect something more durable from the amount I’m spending on the bag. Overall, I’m very happy with the bag and the only thing that is a major drawback for me is the lack of durability for the parts made out of “leather”.
