These omega supplements are a little pricier than some others, but they are so worth it. I do not eat fish and do not want to buy products that were derived from fish, so this is a great way for me to get omega 3s in my diet. Fish obtain omega 3 from algae, so this is right from the source. These supplements are also third party purity tested which is always something I look for when buying supplements. You get what you pay for. Additionally, I’ve noticed that other algae omega supplements have more calories and have added colors/flavors in them.

I bought this product to try getting nutrients closer to the primary producers. There is absolutely no aftertaste or awkward digestive smells. Personally, I did not experience any negatives. The capsules are quite easy to swallow which is perfectly rounded added bonus. I highly recommend this for people who can't withstand the fish.

Excellent quality brand. Pure ingredients with superb DHA content which makes it the BEST omega-3 supplement, anti inflammation properties, hence would also help to lower bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol! Good for heart health. Helped make my hair shiny and vibrant too. Would benefit brain development and health highly. No fish taste. Suitable for wide age range.

It’s a good vegan DHA supplement from a trustworthy company. Would have been much better if it also contained a little bit of EPA as the entire body needs whole omegas plus it has an anti inflammatory effect and it’s only the brain that benefits from the DHA supplementation. Nonetheless, I continue ordering it as getting a high quality DHA from food for a vegetarian like me is almost impossible whereas EPA is easier getting while being on a purely vegetarian diet.

Great EXCEPT FOR carageenan ingredient

I was excited to discover this algae omega, however, I was very disappointed when I saw that there's carageenan in the ingredients. Carageenan is associated with negative effects, particularly when it's consumed at high levels-- which it would cumulatively be if you're consuming a supplement daily over long-term (as omega 3 should be). I would have given five starts, but reduced it to three due to the carageenan.If/when Nordic Naturals removes the carageenan from the product, will definitely buy.

Really Helped my Cognitive Function

I am a diehard vegan. I knew I needed to supplement B-12 but was late in discovering that I also needed to supplement with DHA EPA. I have always trusted Nordic Naturals so that is the first place I went to find vegan DHA EPA. I've been on it just over a month and I can say, unequivocally, that my mental acuity has improved tremendously. Before, I was in a fog and found it difficult to concentrate but after about a week on the Algae Omega I noticed improvement.

That is a HUGE amount of carrageenan compared to what could possibly be in this tiny gelcap.Nordic Naturals has a long history of providing top-grade products. I have used this product for many years.
