This is a replacement for the trimmer that I had for nearly 20 years. It is much more advanced than the old one. It has USB charging (you supply the charger). It has 19 attachments for trimming. The last one had 4. This one has two cutter heads, large and small, with attachments for each. It makes it very confusing figuring out which one to use. The old one had one adjustable comb which I used to trim my beard, mustache and eyebrows. There is one comb for eyebrows, which fits the small cutter head. For trimming my beard, I need the large trimming head with a comb, all of which are marked in millimeters. Through trial and error, I finally figuredout which one to use.

I got this because my current trimmer would no longer charge. I was looking for a trimmer with multiple functions because we travel often and I like to pack light. The trimmer handle has a nice stainless design, you don't see that much anymore. It's comfortable to hold and feels solid in your hands. You can use it wet or dry, I don't tend to use mine in the shower but it's nice to have that option. Charging is quick and the usb cable is included. The blades are self sharpening, no oiling required. I haven't had it long enough for them to be dull. The most awesome part of this trimmer for me is the all the attachments. I can't think of anything this trimmer doesn't offer. Nose and ear, adjustable guards, fading guards, guards for body, face, eyebrows and hair, extra ... MoreI got this because my current trimmer would no longer charge. I have to say I have used almost all of the attachments and they work well. There is also a bag included but that would probably be my only complaint. It's a soft drawstring bag and a structured bag would have been nice, with the amount of attachments that were included. Overall, my favorite trimmer by far. Highly recommend this one.

I was trimming my beard and cut my lips with even 1mm guard on. The blade moves too close. I had been a Series 5000 user for years and that never had such an issue. Also I very much miss the precision trimmer head that the series 5000 had. The new one's precision trimmer is not goot at all for me. The power button is too soft to the touch. I keep swtiching it off all the time while trimming.I also want to point out that when I use the nose hair trimmer head, it creates a vibration fequency that is highly irritating for my nerves. It simulates a similar feeling as pre-sneezing tingling sensation but only highly amplified. I still need to go back to my old trimmer for my nose hair trimming and the precision trimming. Other than that it is a solid products. But these ... MoreI was trimming my beard and cut my lips with even 1mm guard on. The blade moves too close. Picked this up at Costco a few weeks ago as a back-up to my current Philips Series 5000 trimmer that I've had for 5-6 years. My only use for these trimmers is to trim my beard to as close to the skin as possible, ideally less than 1 mm. Since I'm nearly bald I don't use any of the other comb attachments. This Model MG9730 has some advantages as well as disadvantages over the older trimmer. On the plus side it's quieter and a bit smaller. It also comes with the replaceable trimmer heads which I haven't tried out yet. On the minus side, it simply doesn't trim as closely or neatly as the older model. I believe that's due to the type of comb attachment for trimming beards very short. I have to go over some sections multiple times to get a neat, even trim. Finally, I'm ... MorePicked this up at Costco a few weeks ago as a back-up to my current Philips Series 5000 trimmer that I've had for 5-6 years. I believe that's due to the type of comb attachment for trimming beards very short. I have to go over some sections multiple times to get a neat, even trim. Finally, I'm appalled at the waste of packaging. The trimmer comes in a large box but it could easily have been packaged in a box about 1/4 the size. Enclosed is a photo of all the cardboard Philips is using to package this small trimmer. Doesn't make any sense and is a waste of resources.
The quick summary is that these work great for body hair, the nose hair trimmer attachment is okay, and while you can use these for your head, they are not a replacement for full sized hair clippers. The first things you'll notice when you unpackage this is that there are roughly a million attachments (different clippers and blade guards), the clipper body itself has a sleek metal shell, and Phillips totally went cheap on the zippered bag to store everything in (it's one of those super thin plastic ones that feels sort of like fabric-- think $0.50 cheap).I don't know why they cheaped out on the bag, because the rest of this is really nice. The trimmer has heft, looks nice, the different heads are easy to swap out (and but secure enough to stay in place while in use) and the blade guards clip on securely. This trimmer excels at body hair in general. There are attachments (including a wider clipper head) to use this on your noggin-- but I much prefer my full sized hair clippers for trimming my head. For the body hair, this is comfortable to hold and the head is small enough to fit in some nooks and crannies. If you are using the bare head (without a guard), it will not nip at bare skin unless it is loose. That is, if you're trimmer around the boys, it will bite you now and again. It's not bad, but enough to make you wince.I do like using this on my beard as well. With a bare head, you can cut it down to a really heavy 5 o'clock shadow-- you know, scruffy enough you don't feel like a 12 year old, but close enough your wife doesn't complain. I have a thick beard with thick hairs and you can audibly hear this bog down a little bit (compared to trimming body hair), but it still powers through it just fine. For noise, it's not bad. Unless your house is super quiet or someone has their ear pressed against the door, you aren't going to hear this on the other side of a door.Overall, these will not replace my hair clippers when I need to buzz my head, but these are my go to clippers for body hair and keeping my beard tidy.
I love this shaver. Its effective and it has every size comb and attachment that I need. And the compact size is great for storage. The low vibration it produces makes it gental, and it also looks nice. However there is one small design flaw; the clips that hold the attachment heads have gotten loose and the heads fall off sometimes during operation. I had to bend the clips back to a tighter position with needlenose pliers to fix it, and I have do this every once in a while as the clips keep loosening over time.Otherwise a great shaver though. I love it.
I love this trimmer, it is comfortable to use, it covers everything I need it for and it’s compact enough to travel with too. I mainly use it as a beard trimmer which it excels at, but also use it to trim my hair, and the nose hair attachment. I’m very happy with the way it cuts, never struggles with my thick hair and cuts cleanly, also it gets the hair right under my nose that I’ve had problems before with other trimmers. The 2 attachments that are adjustable are really clever designs that cover everything from 1-7 mm (that’s a no.0 - no.2 ish if you don’t do mm). If you want longer you’ve got the standard head attachments from 3mm-16mm (no.1 - no.5). The body trimmer works very well and safe to use where you don’t want to get nicked. Swapping out heads is really easy. You can use it in the shower which is cool, but also means cleaning it is really easy too as you can just rinse it off. It feels really nicely made and solid. It comes with a soft carry pouch, charging cable, but no usb wall plug, but we all have tons of those anyway don’t we. In all I’m very happy with this, definitely recommend.
The Philips Multigroom Series 7 trimmer is a versatile and reliable grooming tool. It offers a range of attachments, making it suitable for trimming hair, beard, and body hair with precision. The build quality is solid, and the trimmer feels sturdy in hand. The battery life is impressive, providing extended usage on a single charge, and the blades deliver a smooth, consistent cut without pulling. The waterproof design adds convenience for easy cleaning. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for those seeking an all-in-one grooming solution.
I recently used a philips norelco multigroom 9000shaver, and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience. While it generally performed well in terms of trimming , I got a cut on my face during use, which was unexpected. I followed the usual precautions, but it seems the blades were a bit too aggressive for my skin. I had to stop, clean the cut, and treat it, which wasn't ideal.Philips products are usually reliable, but this experience left me concerned about the safety of this model. I hope future designs are more skin-friendly to prevent such
When you rinse this after shower use and then let it dry. Days later there will still be lots of droplets of water that spray out from some crack or crevice on the device. You just have to shake it and it will always release water from somewhere. Never fully dries like other Philips multi groomers I’ve used in the past. I think the water gets under the power button assembly or in/under the stainless steel housing. Makes me think of things like mildew and corrosion going on inside it. 3 days set out for drying still water can he shaken out of it from somewhere. Deeply annoying and poor mechanical design.
