I bought this mainly for the rotary trimmer attachment. What they don't tell you about attaching the rotary trimmer: On the end of the device right out of the box is the Fixed blade trimmer. For the eyebrow trimming attachment just insert the fixed blade into the attachment. I have read complaints about noise but that is only because the blades spin so fast. Noise is not too much. Don't completely dunk it in water or get water on/ in the motor part but I like that you can hold the blades in the water stream from the faucet to clean them or take the rotary cutter off & run water through it--shake it dry afterwards. Judging from my battery powered toothbrush the weak point for such items is often the switch--my battery powered toothbrush has gone from a slide switch to two covered buttons--one for on & one for off & such is more durable.

I was very impressed with the trimmer the first time I used it for trimming nose hairs. It very comfortable and did not pull at all. Pros: Will probably be okay for trimming long hairs and beard. Not for removing unsightly ear and nose hair.Cons: It's not good. I bought this one to replace the N5000 series which seems to be discontinued and was a similar price. There is no comparison. It hardly even catches nose and ear hair because the blade is a good 1mm back from the plastic toothed covering. The N5000 had no such obstruction on it. Very disappointed that Philips have replaced the N5000 series with such a poor quality sibstitute.

It also came with a rotary trimmer along with the normal cutting element. There were instructions on how to trim your eyebrows and it cuts them very well. I used the long eyebrow attachment to easily get rid of the longer hair and make my eyebrows more manageable with a smooth clean cut. I then used the normal cutting element inside each nostril and it made quick work of any long hairs. I also used it to trim any hair around and inside my ears. I changed over to the rotary trimmer the next time for my nostril hair and it did a great job also. After each use, I clean the attachments under hot water and sometimes used the cleaning brush that is included. My trimmer was the NT3610 which came with a pouch that has a string that tightens, so you can keep all your attachments together. It is a nice thing to have to have it all together for when you travel. The lithium battery that was provided in the package should last for a long time. All in all, it was quieter and easier to use than my old trimmer. I would recommend it.
Got this to replace the Wahl nosetrimmer I'd been using for a while. Was excited to try this because it seemed a lot higher quality. While the construction and material are good, the actual nose trimming ability is awful. Brand new, straight out of the box first use and it pulled my nose hair so bad I had to stop. Don't waste your money on this product. Buy the Wahl at the same pricepoint instead.

It was fine before! Did the job well and then someone over there thought they needed to justify their job and came up with an “update”. A “fresher” version. Whatever. It now not only doesn’t do what it did so easily before, it doesn’t do anything. Why? Why did it need to change? Just leave it alone and work on a dentist drill that doesn’t make that high pitched whiny sound.
I've been using the older version of this product (NT3160/10) for a few years and absolutely love it. It cuts close to the skin without pulling hair. This newer version has ended up pulling hair and left me with a sore nose. The guard also prevents hair from actually getting cut, I have to run it over the area multiple times. With the previous model, the large eyebrow attachment gave me perfect result. With this version, I have to use the smaller attachment and even then it doesn't do much unless I spend a few minutes rubbing the trimmer head on my eyebrows. Don't understand why Philips felt the need to 'fix' something that wasn't broken... Please consider bringing the older version back. Also not sure why you'd want two trimmers in opposite directions.
