I was taking the pill form and wanted to increase my dose (which I heard is not only safe but optimal), so I decided to try the powder form. This is an excellent, high quality product. Glycine is naturally sweet and tastes like sugar, but it does not act like sugar in the body (it is purely an amino acid). Some people will love this powder version because they can use it to sweeten beverages or smoothies while increasing their glycine intake. I'm personally on the fence about whether to go back to the pill form. The taste is technically enjoyable but, given that it's not actually sugar, I'm a little (irrationally) freaked out by the taste and might prefer just taking the pill. Depending on your needs and preferences, either product is really excellent and I can report increased energy levels ever since taking this along with creatine and NAC (sometimes substituting NAC with whey protein). Highly, highly recommend.

Been using this NOW Foods Glycine powder for about 3 weeks and really impressed with the results. The 1-pound container lasts a long time since the typical serving is just a few grams. The powder is fine, dissolves completely in water, and has a naturally sweet taste that's quite pleasant.Love the pharmaceutical grade quality and simple, pure formula - just glycine with no fillers or additives. I take 3 grams before bed and have noticed significantly improved sleep quality and better morning energy. It's also great for post-workout recovery when added to a shake.Quality is excellent as expected from NOW Foods - it's GMP certified and lab tested. The powder mixes easily in any liquid and doesn't clump. Update-> On my second bottle of Now Glycine powder. The quality is great and it's generally tasteless, with a hint of sweetness. Can be taken with water, juice or any pre / post workout drink. Will continue to use it regularly.A 'non-essential' yet one of the most important amino acids .. helps to make important compounds, like glutathione, creatine and collagen. It's very effective in improving general health and supports growth and overall well-being. I take it every day for assisting with healthy sleep patterns and serotonin levels. Also a great addition to my intra-workout shake as it promotes glycogen storage and protects muscle tissue from damage.

Glycine is a non-essential amino acid, meaning that the body can produce it on its own. However, there is growing interest in the potential health benefits of supplemental glycine due to its involvement in various physiological processes. Benefits include: (a) collagen formation; (b) improved sleep; (c) anti-inflammatory (helps with pain relief in come cases); and (d) blood sugar regulation.I recommend this product. I take 3/4 teaspoon daily mixed in water (with some lime and a stevia). The taste is ok and the lime juice covers almost all of it.
As someone who takes glycine daily for methylation balance and tissue health I really love this large size! It's great value and I love that it's powder so I can choose to take less or more depending on how I'm feeling. I've been using Now Foods products for almost 20 years and I always trust them to have excellent quality control and the best ingredients and formulas. One other thing I like about the Now Foods powdered glycine it that it's ever-so-slightly granular to there's no risk of breathing it in and having to cough if you're in a hurry and just dumping a scoop into your mouth on the fly. Some other brands of glycine powder are super fine and can absolutely make you cough if you breathe in before it's dissolved in your mouth. Of course that's not a worry if ... MoreAs someone who takes glycine daily for methylation balance and tissue health I really love this large size! I bought this product because studies show that it is a neurotransmitter that supports nervous system and helps with sleep. In addition, it is pharmaceutical grade. I like the detailed description as well: glycine is the smallest and simplest amino acid, making it versatile for use in a wide range of functions. Glycine is necessary for the production of glutathione, DNA, creatine, bile, hemoglobin, and most proteins. It also helps to promote glycogen storage, thereby making glucose readily available for energy production. Glycine also functions as a calming neurotransmitter in the brain, where it facilitates nerve impulses and is important for the maintenance of healthy sleep patterns.
I have been taking 2-3g of glycine at night, around 30 mins before sleeping. I think it might have some impact, I think sleep is slightly better. Also expecting some additional benefits, I am following Siim Land's recommendation here - seems like it also works for collagen turnover, and mimics methionine restriction. So the plan is to increase to 5-10g split into two doses eventually, once I know I tolerate this product well.Powder form is also very cheap, relatively speaking, so fine there as well. Quality seems to be good as well. Powder form is also good in that there are no filler ingredients, we just get glycine and nothing else.
We live in a toxic world. Detoxification is therefore very important. However, in my opinion no one should take considerable amounts of the nutrients involved in the livers phase 1 detoxification without taking the sulfur containing amino acids involved in the livers phase 2 detoxification. Everyone should know about how the liver detoxifies. For, if you stimulate phase 1 while disregarding phase 2 detoxification then it can potentially have a very detrimental effect on both your physical and mental health. Trust me, I have personal experience with this. Glycine is one of the amino acids which are important for phase 2 detox. Glycine is a buildingblock for master antioxidant and detoxifier Glutathion. Glycine is ofcourse important for many other things like the production of GABA and as the main component in collagen. This is a quality product which has an undeniable positive effect on my health.
this seems to be the best value for pure glycine powder. and Now tests all their products, unlike a lot of cheaper "bulk" supplement brands, stay away from those!I'm already feeling so much better after taking for only a week (but I was apparently not getting enough according to labwork). I was feeling really weak with extremely low stamina, muscles shaky very easily, amongst other things. Glycine is also extremely important for neurological function, glutathione production, etc. up to 90g have been taken safely in clinical trials, so you can't really overdo it. I'm taking 3-5x day to make sure I'm getting enough and then going down to maintenance of the suggested dosage. Customers appreciate the glycine powder for its sweet taste and effectiveness in improving sleep quality. Many users report falling asleep quickly and experiencing deeper, more restful sleep. The product is praised for being economical due to its large container size and small serving requirement. It dissolves well in water, though some mention it requires a bit of stirring. Users also value the pure powder form over capsules with fillers. Additionally, several customers note benefits such as increased energy levels, improved detoxification, and overall health improvements.
