I prefer non-fortified nutritional yeast as it only contains naturally occurring vitamins and minerals produced by the yeast (non of the synthetic crap)! This yeast tastes amazing, cheesey and mild. The flakes are fine so it mixes well with other foods, great sprinkled on salads, dips, soups or eaten straight out of the bag! I've tried the Foods Alive non-fortified yeast which is good too but I actually like the taste of NuNaturals better! And NuNaturals is much more affordable, you get big bag for a cheaper price! Trust me, this is good quality stuff...you'll love it! And it's sooooo good for you!

I really enjoyed the taste of this nutritional yeast as its not too strong and seems fresh. Its one of the few that doesn't have added synthetic vitamins. Also the nutrition profile is the best I have found containing an impressive range of critical nutrients in very high concentrations. I am not sure if it is third party tested though and its not organic and I dont like the nak because every time I open it the fine particles go all over making a mess! A solit container is far more appropriate for his product.

Absolutely the best vitamin B's you can take. My child takes it without hesitation. It taste salty and a bit cheesy, getting used to within the first few days. It boost the energy. A picky eater gets with those flakes almost everything he needs. And for me the most obvious is the effect on my child (ADHD) to stay focused and calm much easier without taking medication. We started less then a year ago.Recommended!

This is my first time ordering this brand, though I have been eating nutritional yeast for about 16 yrs, a little every day, different brands. This one has no synthetic vitamins, which is why I bought it. It's mild tasting, not as strong as some I've had, but very pleasant. It is also very light, as in the flakes themselves are just loftier, bouncier- if you get what I mean- than other brands I've had, which flakes are harder and crunchier in texture. It's mildness and lightness means I put more on/in my food so I can taste the umami flavour. It doesn't interfere with the texture of other foods, and blends in well with sauces. The package has a resealable zip, but I always decant into a jar because powdery things tend to prevent proper resealing. I have tried several different brands of Nutritional Yeast Flakes, partly because of availability, the NuNaturals is Non-Fortified but has a bigger selection of B vitamins. Because I am Coeliac this is a important supplement, I am getting more forms of B Vitamins than a capsule, they include Thiamine (B1) Riboflavin (B2) Niacin (B3) Pantothenic Acid (B5) Folate (B9) and Biotin (B7), these forms of B are hard to get in a pill/capsule whereas I find the B6 and B12 are included in my other supplementation. The taste is somewhat overpowering, I have gotten used to that and find mixing it with milk is easy and it tastes better. This is a resealable bag which is a bonus too!

I've been eating fortified yeast, but have questioned whether I should be taking the B vitamins in the yeast that aren't methylated. I take a separate supplement for that. This is an awesome tasting brand. It's softer, has less bite than the bobs red mill brand. Both brands are excellent, but I wanted to try the nonfortified option, as well. It's a good option!
This nutritional yeast has three pluses: it's naturally rich in B vitamins; it has a super amino acid profile; and it's fortified with extra nutrients the yeast doesn't have, like vitamin B12. Color and texture are light yellow and flaky, and the yeast mixes well as a flavor enhancer in soups/stews. I've tried a spoonful, but the flakes get too sticky in the mouth. There's no overwhelming smell. The taste is like yeasty cheese. It's not bitter like brewer's yeast. Overall, this is a great quality product.
