I've had a few mechanical keyboards before, although not custom builds, but I've thoroughly been impressed by what NuPhy has produced in the Halo65.The mount on the board, the quality of the stabilizers, the hot-swappable pcb including the array of switches provided gives you a really solid prebuilt experience with the quality of some customs. The design and form factor of the board itself coupled with the wrist rest really makes a case for both great usability and also great aesthetic which is a hard thing to nail.The lighting effects are great including the novel halo effect. I ordered a Halo65 for work and its very solid pre-built! Good quality construction, weight, keycaps, etc. Awesome Mac/PC support. Wireless works flawlessly. Love that so much is included with the package!I'm actually pleased that the lights are still north facing on these, they provide a nice glow, not the blinding pinpoints I have on my the south facing led keyboard at home. I ended up buying Durock switches with diffusers on my one at home to tone it down.Only nitpicks I have are very small and more of a wish list...-- It'd be nice the extra space was also a GhostBar.-- It'd also be nice to have silent switch option for work environments. Before the Halo65 I had only bought a couple low profile mechanical keyboards, so this is my first "real" mechanical keyboard. I am really happy with the build quality, from the case to the actual keycaps they're the best of what I've experienced, it's a lot of improvement from the Air75 which has been my go-to for a year now, so great job to Nuphy. I'm really happy with the rose glacier switches that I decided to try as well.I wouldn't necessarily recommend this keyboard for really long hours of typing work, like for writing essays. It's very comfortable to type on but maybe not for more than 2+ hours straight. The sound dampening features are quite unique to factory builds and have such a positive impact on the sound and performance. The dampening in spacebar... genius! The chassis and internal supports provide such a clean and balanced typing sound which sounds great straight out of the box.Overall I really cannot fault the Halo65 and I have complete confidence that the same applies to the whole Halo range. Going from regular MX Cherry Red switch, this is a absolute pleasure to type on and listen to at the same time. It feels high quality, hefty, well build keyboard with quick wake up time (which was an issue on my previous board). I was planning to switch the keycaps since my setup is mostly blacked out, but at the end I love the feel of the stock one so much that I just kept them on and thanks to the included extra keycaps I was able to make it black and white, which looks fire. I've never owned a "nice" keyboard before. Having a peripheral of this build quality is completely new to me. This thing is heavy in a very good way. Its solid and does not flex or bounce like other cheap keyboards might. The price seems great for what you get. I love the silver plaque on the bottom. I'm almost embarrassed to have a PC peripheral so nice.I love the options you get with keycap colors and switches. I change keycaps almost weekly, so its very much welcome. The keycaps them selves are ok, but the legend font thickness and spacing is a tiny bit inconsistent and there is a run on the side part of one of the keys. There is a small inconsistency in the coloring of the halo lighting between Fn and left arrow, but you can only notice it on certain colors like white or yellow. Although it bugs me, it's not enough for me to reconsider my purchase seriously.Apparently, there is a app for the keyboard, but its a bit difficult to get working on windows and ultimately isn't very useful for me since I only really use Samsung Dex mode.Battery life seems great, but I charge it every other day so I don't really test it. I love the fact that the bluetooth dongle can be stored in the keyboard itself.Because i'm not a keyboard aficionado, I cannot comment on the ranking of this product versus those from other brands like keychron or whatever, but I definitely don't regret buying this. It makes even boring tasks more enjoyable.
