NuPhy Halo96 V2 QMK/VIA Wireless Mechanical Keyboard Obsidian Black Keyboard - Mint Switch

This is definitely the best keyboard I have ever owned. It’s quiet but still has a very pleasing sound. I would initially turn it off every time I left my desk but have realised that even with the LED lights on it lost really well because of the seeming sleep function. I travel with the keyboard and use it on my laptop and home PC and have even connected it to my iPad there is no lag and although connecting the first time was tricky once I realised which keys to use switching between devices became a breeze. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get excited about typing or just using their computer again.

Amazing keyboard!

Right out of the box (pre-installed with Mint switches) the typing sound is amazing! Marbly, thocky and just a joy to type on. I haven't tried gaming on it yet but I think I'm going to keep these fast mint switches! I also put on a ghost space bar on it and it sounds juicier but the stock space bar was incredible too. Overall the build is great the build quality, the color (blue) and the RGB so far so great. One thing I would like to know is if Edge browser is compatible with VIA to cuztomize the keyboard. It's only letting me make sounds in the VIA software but not customize anything. From order placement to delivery (TX) total was 10days with the regular shipping! Awesome hardware, not so awesome software

The Halo96 v2 is an amazing keyboard. After hearing the top notch typing sounds and feeling the premium materials, I was instantly impressed. The halo light really makes the keyboard stand out, it's what sets it apart from other keebs after all.This is my first time using an hotswap keyboard with gasket mounting and south facing LEDs, I can confirm all these features work flawlessly. While I primarily use the keyboard wired, I can also confirm that the 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connections work correctly.The wrist rest was a nice purchase, even if it's completely solid it does a great job nevertheless, especially considering that it nicely diffuses the halo light.All of the accessories also worked just fine, the extra keycaps and switches are a very welcome ... MoreThe Halo96 v2 is an amazing keyboard. While I primarily use the keyboard wired, I can also confirm that the 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connections work correctly.The wrist rest was a nice purchase, even if it's completely solid it does a great job nevertheless, especially considering that it nicely diffuses the halo light.All of the accessories also worked just fine, the extra keycaps and switches are a very welcome addition.Although the review was full of pros so far, I've encountered some flaws in the keyboard, I've listed them as follows:Hardware:- The Lemon switches add a yellow tint to all colors, this is especially noticeable when the LEDs are set to white.- The spacebar leaks some light when the LEDs are on in a dark room, revealing the shadow of the stem and stabilizers.Software:- While the keyboard works with VIA, you cannot customize the halo light with it.- I couldn't find a way to sync the halo light with the rest of the keyboard.- There's no visual indicator for the Num Lock, while it is present for the Caps Lock you cannot customize it.- The position lighting mode is broken at this time, while the LEDs light up correctly on the F, J and Up Arrow keys, the number five on the numpad stays off.Overall, I'd rate the Halo96 v2 a 4/5. While the hardware itself is fantastic and deserves a full 5/5, the software is only worth a 3/5. I'm hopeful that NuPhy will address these software issues via an update, and I'd be happy to adjust my rating accordingly.I would still recommend this keyboard, with the expectation that NuPhy will update the firmware.

BETTER THAN THE HALO96

I received the Halo V2 model with great expectations.I have the Halo 96 and the Air 96. I consider myself a NuPhy fan, because it is clear that these team make quality products, with care and attention.Positive considerations of the new Halo v2:• The area where this new model stands out above all else is its creamy sound and pleasant feel. It's simply fabulous, and I can say this with certainty because I've owned many keyboards from many gaming brands. The dedication that NuPhy has put into this aspect is remarkable.• I loved the lemon tactile switch. Very similar to the Gateron Baby Kangoo, but softer. It's fantastic. I also liked the free mint switch. All of them with double-stage spring.• Being able to use VIA is an improvement, and it would be better if NuPhy would create a VIA-based launcher, like another well-known keyboard brand already has.• And in that sense, being able to improve RGB control, whether key by key, by group of keys or with different schemes that can create figures.I hope the review can be useful.

Birthday Gift

I got this for my sister as she has started going down the rabbit hole of mechanical keyboards and her first one started to break. I couldn't help myself and ordered the NuPhy Field75 HE for myself while I was at it. The Field75 is amazing but I can't stress how beautiful the Halo96 V2 is in blue. I then started typing on it and the sound and tactile feedback sent shivers down my spine. It was a dream. I am fighting the urge to buy another but I almost didn't want to give her such a great keyboard for her first true mechanical keyboard. I do recommend buying the Lemon switches though as that was a great improvement to my Keychron Q1 keyboard.

Coolest Keyboard Ever!

I absolutely LOVE this keyboard. This was my first time purchasing a more luxurious keyboard for my gaming setup, and I couldn't resist the halo feature in the 96 size. I ordered V2 on presale with the Cherry Clear-Top Silent Red Switches and this purchase was worth every penny. The keyboard is gorgeous in the Mojito color and the Halo lighting is highly customizable. The best part is easily the sounds when typing. The keys make the MOST satisfying sound and feel good to the touch. The product is very user-friendly, and swapping out keycaps is also quick and easy. Will be recommending to everyone as this keyboard is everything I dreamed it would be!

First Mechanical Keyboard

This is my first keyboard, so I will admit this review is coming from someone who isn't ENTIRELY sure on what they're saying, however: I love this thing. I got the mint switches and the walnut wrist rest to truly treat myself while I'm at work, and I am the envy of my coworkers. I was worried at first that the switches would sound annoying and I'd have to change them, however I've been told by the people around me that they love the sound and it is both calming to them and also making them feel more productive. I even have one of my coworkers considering getting a mechanical keyboard herself! Works great...on wired

The keyboard is pretty good, works perfectly on wired mode. Theres some weird information flooding issue on both wireless modes where it decides to skip inputs very often to the point of it not being viable to use.Support managed to send me a flash bin file that completely bricked the keyboard but luckily after some rummaging around, I found a reddit post pointing to a hard recovery reset button under the caps lock keycap which allowed me to flash back to the official public firmware and got my initial keyboard functionality. Wireless functionality sadly still persists but its good that theres such recovery precautions put in place.

quality, sound, feel: awesome! switch +color, though......

I love my Halo. There's one thing I'm not a fan of, and a feature request I'd like to make.First off: the quality if the keyboard is incredible. the sound and feel of it is PERFECT. The Via integration will lend to so many things you can do in the future. I'll get back to that.My one true complaint has to do with their wonferful feeling and sounding switches. Because they have put pigment into the tops of their switches, it causes the LED colors to be filetered through the switch housing. as such, my wonderfully thocky yellow tactile switches cause any blue colors to look like they're filtered through lemonaid. I can't achieve blue. it just looks like a dirty yellow-ish color under the keys. I swapped out a yellow switch with some gateron switches (testing out ... MoreI love my Halo. I finally got that DEEP BLUE I was looking for! I'm now conflicted because nuphy's yellow switches are the thockiest of the bunch. Browns have just the SLIGHTEST bit more clack when they bottom out. the Kangeroos are VERY clacky at the bottom. See images for examples.Now, Nuphy, for my feature request: I'd like to be able to set up my own per-key color layout inside of VIA. As of yet, I don't see any option to do so. I've seen videos demonstrating VIA on other keyboards and see people doing so. I imagine this would be something to add in firmware to enable this? Please and thank you!

too easy to love

Easy to operate, a breeze to build. Great rgb effects and a beautiful subtle milky like diffusing lighting effects. The linear switches it came with also are excellent creamy quality as expected of Gateron. The keycaps have a nice matte texture on them and have a big font to enhance typing experience. Great portable size. Wireless compatibility is lighting fast.All that is left are interchangeable top plates and you've got a durable long lasting customisable product that enthusiasits and hobbyists will continue to like, able to afford and be able to come back to.
