Nutri Ninja Bl642 Blender Duo with Auto IQ

The quality is the first thing to strike you about the Ninja. There is a 2100ml jug with a 1900ml working capacity and a lid with a lift-spout. There's no plunger. Instead, the blender operates using a frighteningly named 'total crushing' blade system that extends up a central stem rather than sitting at the bottom. It's incredibly efficient at reaching and drawing ingredients down during blending for smooth results. The Auto-IQ technology just refers to its preset programs. What stands this blender apart is that these preset programs are fulfilled in a variety of blending phases and pauses, so the 60-second blend program varies its speeds – similar to they way you would manually when pulsing.

This isn't quite the same package we have (ours came with two different sized plastic travel cups instead of the stainless option) but the blender looks the same. I have very mixed feelings about it. It was an expensive system but we bought it on sale. I wouldn't be happy if we paid full price. As a blender, it works great - blades are super sharp! It is a bit noisy. The cup option is handy for quick smoothies on the go. One complaint is the design of the system, I feel like I never have quite enough room to get everything aligned properly to place on the stand. It still blends with the same great efficiency and consistency as it did the first day I owned it. I use it pretty exclusively for smoothies, so I can’t attest to other uses for it. However, it blends through frozen ingredients like butter and creates the same perfectly smooth consistency every time. My favorite features of this blender– where do I even begin? The multiple blend settings are also a dream! Sometimes I have full frozen bananas that get jammed, and the pulse setting always gets them in order to blend properly. The multiple levels of blades make this possible, and create the perfectly blended consistency every time. No more chunky smoothies!! Most of all, the SAFETY of this blender is the number one reason I love it. You can’t even begin blending without the lid securely in place. If the lid comes off during blending, the blender immediately shuts off. It also has a timer on each blend setting so it won’t be left perpetually blending if you have to step away to deal with kids or pets. Highly HIGHLY recommend this blender if you want something safe, consistent, long lasting, and the highest of quality!!

Excellent Blender

Love this version of our Ninja. We had to replace one that was the original Ninja in which we had to hold down to blend. This one has three jars and 1 massive jug which makes all of our smoothies in the morning. Best of all it has multiple features for different textures. Hoping this one lasts like the old one. Value for money.

I received my ninja blender duo about a month ago. I have used many different blenders/smoothie makers in the passed and nothing has come close to the efficiency and versatility of the nutri ninja blender! Its so easy to use just press the relevant button - the pre set auto iq features seem to work really well! it's made me a lot more adventurous with new meals and recipes especially with the use of social media for great ideas to make in the ninja. It feel solid and is great quality - It literally blitzes anything which speeds up making smoothies as fruit and veg don't need to be chopped and prepped before just chuck them in! They are all dishwasher safe and easy to clean and all come with lids which makes them easy to take out the door with you for an on the go meal. Also included in the box is a large pitcher - it's great size means making larger batches/blending more at a time is possible - so far I have used this to host a cocktail party using it to blend iced drinks! It is a great addition in making this product so versatile. Looking at the nutri ninja range on their website I would like to be able to purchase more accessories like this - such as the food processor. It would then mean that this one product would replace many in my kitchen. I like that it's neat and looks good on the side so I can leave it out permanently- this means I am much more likely to use it that something deep at the back of my kitchen cupboard! The negatives to this is definitely the noise and if someone is asleep in bed I would not want to use it - but I guess this is because the motor is so powerful which really makes a difference to end results of smoothies. It's also a lot bulkier than other smoothie makers so if you are just looking for a small compact smoothie maker this is not for you - for me this is not an issues as it is so much more than just a smoothie maker - especially with the addition of the pitches and if you can include other attachments. I would also like a bigger recipe and ideas book to come with the product - I've gained most my inspiration from the Internet their website has some great ideas which would be good if they were included in the product booklet. I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic purchase

I bought this to replace my regular Ninja so I could make more than a couple of smoothies at once, in one container. Winner!!!!! I used it almost non-stop during summer, and highly recommend it to anyone who's thinking about a purchase. It is a little noisy as other say in their reviews, but as long as you're not making smoothies in the middle of the night, it's time saver. It also has extra blades so the chopping is even quicker and better. 10 out of 10 from me!

Functionality: Prior to receiving this blender I had been using the 900w Nutri Ninja alongside an 100w hand blender from a leading brand, this blender has rendered these two items almost useless (if it was able to blend hot ingredients then they would be completely useless!). When you attach the pitcher or the cup with the appropriate blade, the options available for that particular blade will light up on the base unit meaning there is very little chance you can break it through error (good for those of us who get a bit carried away in the kitchen!). The handbook provided tells you which settings to use, e.g. use the pureesetting for soups and sauces; use the auto IQ blend setting for juices. The blender has a lock safety function, meaning that it wont fire up unless you have locked the cup or pitcher in correctly which is an excellent feature. So far I have used this blender to make: soups, curry sauces, cake batters, bread dough, chocolate mousse, cocktails, juices and protein smoothies. Initially I was unsure about the auto IQ option, I thought it was just a gimick. Having used the auto IQ options for a variety of sauces, soups and drinks I can say I have been suitably impressed by these options! Everything I have made, even my curry sauce which I thought was already quite accomplished, comes out the perfect consistency. The blender takes ice, nuts, spices, powders/flours, hard fruits and veg in its stride; nothing has turned up lumpy or proved too difficult for the blender to handle. This is due to the 1500w motor and the super sharp blades. As far as blenders go, this is the best one I have ever had the pleasure of using. Maintenance and care: The components are a dream to wash, just run them under the tap immediately after using. I am a bit of a germ-a-phobe so I do a follow up wash in a sink of hot soapy water. The base unit is easily kept clean with a damp cloth or anti-bac wipe. The components are also dishwasher safe for those of you privy to such luxury. Cons: Whilst this is an impressive bit of kit, it does have a few cons as would be expected. The most notable would be the noise it creates, this thing is LOUD. However I do believe this is due to its powerful motor which is so powerful I have to hold the base unit still as it tends to travel across my kitchen side, another potential downside. As someone with a small kitchen I do find the machine somewhat cumbersome and all the various parts take up space, some kind of "stackability" would improve the experience. The inability to use hot ingredients is a drawback when pushed for time although not a deal breaker for me personally. Overall I am absolutely thrilled with this machine, I can't imagine life without it. I use it every single day.

The 2.1l jug needs improvement

I bought the blender in October 2019. We are using the blender every day for our smoothies. I use the large 2.1l jug so I can make the smoothies to everyone in one go. The quality of the smoothies are ok even though it’s not completely smooth, there are small pieces of pulp in the smoothie. I started to make the smoothie one the cup instead of the jug to make the texture more creamy and smooth it worked very well for about a month and then the Pro-Extractor Blades broke down. So I was back to using the large jug. Now the jug have become so damaged that about half a cup of liquid is leaking from the jug when I use it. MORE power, & performance & Hardware. . Alongside the original Ninja 1000w IQ digital options, THE DUO performs a multitude of functions with the 1500w power performance. (It does make a definite difference for an already Ninja lover! MORE power, & performance & functionality!! The additional blender jug & spiral inner blade/crusher have lent themselves to a multitude of new capabilities, uses & easy yet brilliant ideas for vitamin filled delights!! Vitamin/mineral nourishment made for the ease factor, the taste factor, and made for the Options factor, yet never straying from the no mess & easy-clean components!! Ninja got it right!!

Very impressed

I've had my blender now for a couple of weeks and have used it every day for smoothies. I'm really impressed with how well it does its job! I generally make green smoothies and my hold blender basically turned everything into mulch. So impressed with how smooth the Ninja gets everything - I use the blender jug for this. I've made smoothies for my kids using ice and frozen fruit (mostly using the Nutri Ninja cup) and they turn out amazing! It's all really easy to use. I follow the instructions in the book for the order in which to add everything which I find really helpful. I love that it has a range of different settings all at the touch of a button. The only thing I could see being an issue for someone is that the machine is quite loud but this isn't an issue for us. I was looking for a high speed blender for smoothies and I'm so glad I chose this one. I love that it has the food processor option as it means I've got more options for how to use it. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase.
