I purchased this Nutribullet to replace a 7 year old Ninja that has been very well loved. I was so optimistic and excited, but it was a very disappointing machine. At first, I put smoothie ingredients in the cup in the order i usually do and it took at least 4 rounds on the smoothie setting to get it blended. The smoothie setting speeds up and slows down at a pre-determined interval. Every single time the machine slowed down my ingredients would get stuck above the blade and stop blending. I’ve tried every setting to get it to work without having to run the machine for 4 or more rounds. I decided to try a different order for adding ingredients and put the ice on top but, the machine still disappoints. I bought a new Ninja and the Nutribullet will be going back to .

The NBF50520 looks like it has an identical base, and identical cups, and it has good reviews. I seriously love blended iced coffee when it's warm outside. For about 6 months of the year, I have a small iced coffee every morning, and I'll often have another as an afternoon treat and a pick-me-up on warm days. I'll also often make smoothies for lunch. My usual coffee is 4 ounces of water, 6-7 large ice cubes, and powdered coffee mix (International Cafe, Big Train, etc.). It's about 8 ounces, which expands to a frothy 10-12 ounces once blended. I used to drink a lot of frappes from coffee shops, but this is greener, cheaper, healthier, and more convenient. My old personal blender is almost 10 years old, and recently, I've been having to blend longer to get the ice blended properly. I tried another brand personal blender, but the cups were so huge and heavy, 24 ounces! If you fill that whole thing up to the max fill line with smoothie, that's probably an entire day's worth of calories right there... hopefully people aren't drinking a huge sugary smoothie and thinking it's healthy. In the 16-ounce cups from my old blender, my usual coffee filled about 3/4 of the cup, and looked like a good-sized coffee. In the huge 24-ounce cups, it filled only a scant half of the cup. The same amount of frappe went from looking and feeling like an indulgent treat to a seeming like a tiny, stingy little portion. Cup size may seem petty to some people, but it's important to me. It makes a huge difference for portion control, which in turn is important for healthy nutrition. It's also a lot more convenient to store and clean smaller cups. Plus, it's just cumbersome to carry a huge heavy cup around. I picked this model because it has smaller cups. 20 ounces is better than 24. 16 ounces can be a little too small for smoothies, especially if the fruit is frozen so it won't pack in until it's blended. The 32 ounce "colossal" cups definitely live up to their name. They are the same size as the pitcher on my old blender! I would prefer a combination of 16-ounce cups (for coffee and other icy drinks) and 20- or 24-ounce cups (for smoothies), but didn't see any models with that option. 20 ounces and 32 ounces is pretty close. I like that this has a full-sized pitcher. My old blender also has a (smaller) pitcher, and I think it's handy to have, even though I only use it a few times a year. It's the base with the motor that is the most expensive component, so you might as well have a full-sized pitcher to go with it. It takes slightly more space on the counter than my old blender, but it also has more than 4x the power (1500W vs 350W), and a larger pitcher (64 Ounces vs 32 ounces). It's not as sleek or attractive as my old blender; I do wish it came in silver or gray instead of black. I don't like the glossy control panel, which is a finger-print magnet. A nice feature is that the buttons are all touch sensors, not physical buttons which are harder to clean. I do like the preset, one-touch blending functions. Just press the button for "Frozen Drinks", "Smoothies", etc., and it pulses and blends for the appropriate time. I can just push a button and go about fixing the rest of my breakfast while it blends instead of worrying about watching it. Sometimes I still have a few tiny pieces of ice when I use the “Frozen Drinks” button, which blends for 40 seconds, so sometimes I use the “Smoothies” button, which blends for 60 seconds, even for iced coffee. My biggest complaint is that you really need to lock the blades onto the base, which is challenging and can make a mess. My old blender was not like that at all, you just set the cup on the base, and sometimes rotate it a little to get it to line up. But with this blender, you have to really click it into place, with enough force to loosen the lid. You can do it one-handed when you are locking the cup into place on the blender, because that direction tightens the base with blades on the cup. But beware, when you remove the cup, you must twist the base with the blades, NOT the cup itself (the instructions do not mention this). The direction you twist to remove the cup LOOSENS the base from the cup, and the contents can run out all over the base. If you loosen the lid even just a tiny bit, the liquid will run out and make a mess. And this happens even when I screw the lid on really tightly before I lock it into place. It's challenging to remove the cup even with 2 hands. It can be done with one hand, but that's even more challenging. Also, the smart touch buttons are located right where you are likely to accidently touch them while you are struggling to remove the cup. The instructions warn to turn the blender off completely before removing the cups, and this is likely why. Sometimes you need to press the power button TWICE to turn it off completely (pressing it once just stops the blender, if it is running). At first it was challenging to remember to press the power button twice, especially since this was not necessary with my old blender. I have accidently turned it on several times while trying to remove the cups. However, I have (mostly) gotten used to it after a few days. I also don't like that the treads to screw on the cup lid are on the inside of the cups. The treads get coffee / smoothie in them, on the lid, cup, and the removable blades. It's more difficult to clean. It also makes it more likely that you will make a mess if you accidently loosen the base with blades from the cup when removing it from the motorized base. The force of blending forces the contents into the treads, so inadvertently unscrewing the base with blades even the tiniest bit results in the contents spilling out. On my old blender, the treads are on the outside of the cups, which is a far better design. I wouldn't get any coffee / smoothie in any of the treads or on the lid at all. However, I couldn't find any newer models that have them on the outside, so apparently that's standard now. I don't know what the benefit is to having them on the inside. If anything, it makes the lid look a little weird. I do not like that this blender beeps when the smart touch program is finished. It's totally unnecessary. You can tell it's finished because the countdown stops, and the blender stops (duh). This is not a deal-breaker for me today, but I used to have a dog that was terrified of beeping sounds. That dog has since passed away, but if she was still with me today, this blender would be going straight back to . It really irritates me that product designers seem to be totally unaware that beeping sounds can be a problem for pets, and it's extra frustrating when the beeps are not needed. I think it holds up pretty well to a high-end blender. I have tried smoothies from my friends' pricey blenders, and I considered getting one. I wouldn't mind paying for it, but they are just not as convenient for individual drinks, and they take up so much space. This seems to blend just as well, for a fraction of the cost, and is much more convenient. It has comparable wattage, and says it extracts nutrients. This does not quite fit under my cabinet with the pitcher, but it does with the cups. The lids seem leaf-proof, which I don't really care about. I usually use the cups at home, and when I do take them on the go, I hold them in my hand like a beverage. I guess the airtight lids are good for people who want to make a smoothie ahead of time and leave in the fridge, or carry it in a gym bag or something. I use 10-inch silicone straws, which fit fine in the cups / lids for the 20-ounce cups, but they just barely peek out of the top of the 32-ounce lids. If I end up using the huge colossal cups, I will have to get some extra-long 12-inch silicone straws (a length that is more difficult to find). It's annoying that standard length straws do not fit. Even the included metal straws barely peek out of the top of the colossal cups. In my opinion, they are not long enough for the larger cups, but I can't use metal straws with my sensitive teeth, anyways, so I will give them away. It's nice that there are 2 sets of blades, so you don't need to worry about disassembling them from the pitcher to clean it. I have a feeling I'll wear out the cups blades a lot faster, and the ones for the pitcher will still be nice and sharp. All facts considered, this model works quite well and has a lot of features that I really like, but it also definitely has some design flaws that should be improved. I consider the price to be very reasonable, and I couldn't find a blender that had a better design, so I decided to keep it. I do hope someone comes out with a blender that has all the good features from this model paired with the good features from my old blender; I would buy that blender in a heartbeat. These design flaws are really obvious; it’s annoying that so many blenders seem to have them. Apparently the product designers don’t ever use or test their products, or even listen to feedback from their customers.

I stuffed some frozen fruit and yogurt into the 32 oz blender cup, and made a strawberry banana smoothie. I noticed that if the fruit chunks are large and there isnt a lot of liquid, the blades will have a hard time catching the fruit and actually making the smoothie. after correcting this by adding some oat milk, it finally blended up. the consistency was an instant upgrade from my old black and Decker blender, no fruit chunks, very fine consistency, and remained thick and smooth. it probably took about a minute on medium speed to finish. i didnt even need to go full power! Using the 56 z pitcher, i decided to make some peanut butter, i simply threw a thing of planters peanut in, and started it off on low, eventually medium(didnt need to go to high very much) i didnt even need to use the tamper a lot like you see people do with their blenders. the result was very smooth, and better than most you can buy at the store. it took about 2.5 minutes to get to the right consistency. overall I think this is a vitamix alternative you should consider, especially when it comes to the comparable power and smooth results.

A very loud yet powerful blender

for the sake of saving you a bunch of reading, i listed short pros and cons, you can read the more detailed review below pros: large pitcher blade results in faster and smoother blending very powerful motor(comparable to a vitamix e310) relatively durable motor base and pitcher/cups buttons are very responsive tamper saves you a lot of trouble decent value smooth buttons and timer makes it very easy to clean off. cons: Very loud- if you have picky neighbors/roommates this is not what you want to turn on for a 6:00 breakfast. lid on pitcher can be difficult to take off at times. the vent underneath turns up a windstorm- you may want to keep away from paper or light objects so they arent blown away easily smudged- not a big thing but if you want to keep it spotless ... Morefor the sake of saving you a bunch of reading, i listed short pros and cons, you can read the more detailed review below pros: large pitcher blade results in faster and smoother blending very powerful motor(comparable to a vitamix e310) relatively durable motor base and pitcher/cups buttons are very responsive tamper saves you a lot of trouble decent value smooth buttons and timer makes it very easy to clean off. cons: Very loud- if you have picky neighbors/roommates this is not what you want to turn on for a 6:00 breakfast. lid on pitcher can be difficult to take off at times. the vent underneath turns up a windstorm- you may want to keep away from paper or light objects so they arent blown away easily smudged- not a big thing but if you want to keep it spotless you will have to wipe down the buttons after each use Just picked up the 56 oz and 32 oz cup combo from target, for $150 bucks. initially I was trying to save for a vitamix, but got a bit impatient and decided to bite the bullet(pun not intended) and pick this big boy up. the minute i opened the box i immediately wanted to try it out.

Great value blender and recipe book
14 February 2023

My husband and I are very happy with the nutribullet Smart Touch. It's very powerful. It makes smoothies and protein shakes almost whipped and frothy. If you watch carefully, you can actually witness that the blender increases the volume of the liquid. Additionally, we like the minimalist design. The base looks appropriate with our other high end kitchen appliances. Everything is easy to clean. Also, the recipes in the provided recipe book are all pegan-friendly and delicious. My husband made the dairy free mushroom soup and it was so delicious, even with out salt. I was honestly surprised that nutribullet's nutritionists who put together the recipe book are hip to diet trends like Pegan and keto. The recipe book exceeded my expectations.

Better than expected! Sleek design, high quality parts. The touch screen control is easy to use and can tell the vessels apart. I like the suction cups on bottom of machine, super sturdy and strong 1500w. We needed a blender that would handle high use - we use this every morning at breakfast- making smoothies and frappes, it has always been part of our wellness regime, as a way for the family to eat more whole foods ( Weve used the nutribullet products since learning about its high efficiency with nutrient extraction do many years ago). We love the pitcher which holds 1850mls so we can make 4 serves at once which is a great time saver. I have found it perfect for making to making all sorts of dips and soups.. not to mention the odd cocktail. Its Easy to clean. Ive ... MoreBetter than expected! Sleek design, high quality parts. So far very good!

We kept getting cheap blenders and I opted for something more and chose this. I'm blown away how quick and easy the machine works. We use it each day for smoothies and wow! They're way smoother than any I'd made at home before. Really helps with the greens, and kale in particular. I was a little worried about the cleaning because with other blenders it's a big deal to keep the blades dry when not in use. However this unit keeps the blade connected to the pitcher, and I devised that after washing the pitcher, and a little air-drying, to put a clean, dry hand towel into it for a while in the dish rack. So over a week and still amazing, useful, just what we need. So powerful and incredibly easy to use!

I’ve used nutribullet blenders for years but this is the first one that truly blitzes everything with complete ease including all ice combinations and is probably the easiest to use! I had been considering purchasing a certain other brand blender that’s normally very expensive, but is considered one of the best, this new nutribullet even out shines the former best on the market! It’s more powerful at 1500watts and it shows! I’ve never been able to put just ice and frozen fruit in a blender with minimal liquid and had it work!! First time I’ve had mango protein slushees in 15 years when I used to purchased them from a place overseas that had speciality machines to make them! And this is just a small machine on my bench top! As you can tell I’m totally blown away here, and with good reason. Nutribullet has really stepped it up!

The blade is stuck to the base.
29 May 2022

I purchased this blender on April 16th 2022 (a little over a month ago). I made a smoothie this morning using the large cup and now the blade is stuck to the base of the blender. I had to flip the entire thing upside down just to remove the cup but I still can't remove the blade. I've tried searching for solutions on Google and YouTube. This is just crazy. I've owned 5 blenders from this company since 2007 and four of them leaked. I though wow they finally got it right with this blender...there's no way for it to leak....well that was replaced with a new headache. #FalseHope

What an amazing machine! Its bigger then I though it would be and I love it! All the accessories and materials of the machine are very good quality and the base sticks to the bench very well. This bad boy has some power at 1500 watts! It blended my soup in no time using the soup button on the smart touch screen controls. It looks like something out of the future and I love it’s sleek modern design. The manuals and recipe books are very easy to understand and use. Cleaning was very easy to do either hand wash or dishwasher, I’m impressed by the lid design having multiple rubber seal ribs and a locking system to stop the lid slipping up or off. Overall I’m amazed by this machine it’s design has been thoroughly thought about and think it’s a must have kitchen ... MoreWhat an amazing machine!
