NYX Matte Lipstick Bare With Me

I’ll start off by saying this color is waaay out of my comfort zone! 🤣 BUT as a beauty blogger, I like to get all different products because even if I wouldn’t gravitate towards a certain color, doesn’t mean you wouldn’t! I’m wearing the color “Ace” which is a gray/slate blue. I actually do like this! This matte lipstick glides on smoothly and feels good on. It’s not a drying matte though. You can still rub your lips together. These lipsticks are very saturated so what you see is what you get! It also has a really nice scent; like flowery candy (I know that sounds strange but it’s hard to describe a scent). I think this would look AMAZING on deeper skin tones!!! I love exploring my options when it comes to makeup and especially lipstick products. This was my first time trying NYX matte lipstick and I was pleasantly surprised how well it looked on me. It glided on my lips smoothly and did not rub off on my teeth. Sometimes I like to switch between matte and glossy finish lipsticks. I definitely will be buying another NYX matte lipstick but in a different color next time. Very affordable and easy to find at most makeup retailers.

I can start off by saying this is by far my most favourite pinky nude lipstick from NYX. The shade I am wearing is Whipper Caviar. This colour just looks so natural and beautiful on my skin tone. This lipstick is a matte formula however the application is very different from the velvet matte lipsticks from NYX. Be sure to exfoliate your lips, use a lip balm or a lip moistureizer before applying this lipstick or else it will settle between the lines of your lips. In this photo, before applying this lipstick I hydrated my lips with 100% pure coconut oil. Pure coconut oil is the best thing to hydrate your lips with. As your lips are hydrated you can build the colour on your lips. I know that there are quite a few who dislike scent in makeup products, I don’t particularly care either way. However, I generally prefer that my lip products have a nice, sweet scent. I’ve had lipsticks and glosses that were unscented, but the smell of the ingredients were off putting and so I never wore them. I’ve had lip products with floral scents, which I’m also not a fan of. It can be like having perfume on your lips. These smell sweet, not crazy strong, and a bit like almonds. I like it. And… the formula is pretty amazing. I feel like these don’t get as much hype as they should. Excellent pigment with one swipe coverage. Very comfortable. And they have a beautiful, velvety matte finish. I highly recommend them. The packaging is super cute too.

Amazing product formula and color selection!!!!

This is my favorite lipstick of all time, I use the crazed shade the most. It goes perfectly with my skin tone and the red isn’t too neon or pink looking. The formula is the amazing because it doesn’t crack or make my lips feel dry even thought it’s a matte lipstick. The formula is very smooth and doesn’t become more dry through out the day. I hope this never gets discontinued because it is the only lipstick I’ve been using for years. Absolutely would recommend it.

Beautiful and comfortable matte lipstick!

I just received this lipstick today in the mail, and wow, for only $8 you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck!The actual lipstick component is made very well, and doesn’t feel “cheap”, and has a nice weight to it. I like that the little heart shows what color the lipstick is, so you can see it without having to open the lid, among the other lipsticks in your collection. It's also just slightly scented like a cupcake, or cookie or something sweet, and makes you want to keep on applying more!The formula is buttery smooth for a matte lipstick, and I am definitely here for it! With fall/winter right around the corner, I can see this easily becoming a staple for everyone to at least have one of these. It does transfer; however, I tested this lipstick after eating some wings, and (to my surprise) most of the lipstick was still on my lips, two thumbs up from me! After wearing the lipstick all day, and having it survive a hot Texas summer day (and my lunch), I only reapplied once.The only thing I found odd was that the color online versus the actual color upon application was different. I got the shade “Brunch Me”, and it is described as a “light dusty rose”, but on me it looked almost like a medium/deep, pumpkin-ish shade. The color is still highly pigmented and gorgeous, and I will still use this all the time. I would just recommend going into a Nyx store to swatch and try on shades to see how they look for your skin tone.

Lovely Lipstick But Poor Website Performance

Bought this as a stocking filler for my daughter for Christmas. She chose the colour herself so I know she will like it. The lipstick was delivered quickly and is good quality but my only issue was with the website. It was very difficult to place the order and took several attempts before I was able to successfully place the order. The lipstick would show up in the shopping cart but then when I went to check out it would disappear. It took several days before I could place the order so I don't know if there was a fault with the website. For some reason it would only let me order one item at a time so I had to pay two lots of delivery charges. For this reason I've only given a score of three stars instead of a five star rating

Very Opaque

I heard great things about this so I gave it a try. I got the shade "Alien". As a goth, finding a true black shade can be tricky. This does the job. It doesn't stay on the longest and rubs off easily, but all in all it is a great lipstick. This formula doesn't fully dry, and doesnt go crusty. It has a nice non greasy moisturizing feel. My only issue was that wearing it for more than a couple hours irritates my lip piercing (done several years ago). Other than that it's perfect.

Would not repurchase

I bought this lipstick in the shade “spicy” with great expectations, but I was sadly disappointed. The application was smooth and the packaging is cute, but something in the formula made the lipstick look messy - almost like play-doh on my lips. It actually even smells like play-doh. I also found that the colour looked clownish but that might be due to my pale skin tone. All in all this product just wasn’t a good fit for me and I would not recommend it.

am I dreaming??

I have yet to give this lipstick a 12-hour test, but after a few hours I already want to re-open dead social media profiles (Facebook, even) to share my shock and delight with the entire internet. I have very, very dry lips (years of oily skin and acne adding insult to injury) and take an ADHD medication that makes my mouth and lips even drier. Even creamy, "hydrating" formulas (a few I can *tolerate* include L'Oreal, Winky Lux, and Tarte Color Splash) are bound to last 1-2 hours on my lips at best, before the skin starts to crease dry almost to the point of painfully cracking.No combination of water-chugging, lip scrub prep, hydrating primer, and balm touch-ups has fully addressed this issue... until this lipstick formula. I bought shade Sweet Tooth, and it feels nothing like NYX's Velvet Matte or Butter Lipstick-- it feels like *I'm not wearing lipstick*.I keep pursing my lips and stretching them into a freakish grin and-- no cracking! No slipping or stickiness or creeping dryness! I feel like I'm losing my mind!!! What kind of chemical sorcery is this? After all the frustrated fumbling in my car, trying to touch up before work to hide damaged skin... I'm almost emotional about how well this lipstick is working.Some of this color range is too edgy for me to pair with my usual natural makeup, but come next paycheck I'm stocking up on every single color I can pull off. Another home run, NYX!
