I am a firm believer that NYX consistently raises the bar and challenges what weâve come to expect from âdrugstoreâ products. That said, this palette has been in my collection for over a year, and I have (sadly) only managed to reach for it once or twice. Overall, this might not be an everyday palette, but it may be worth adding to your collection for those random days when you're looking to switch things up with a lil fun.

I received the palette with two shades broken unfortunately. Sometimes shimmer/glitter shades are more fragile. I tried a wearable look and it came out decent, as shown in photo. There was a little bit of fall out, but the shades blended great. The next day I wanted to experiment with the colors more. I did a few swatches with my fingers and then applied a few shades to my lid with a brush. Unfortunately, this time around I wasn't impressed. There was a good amount of fall out and some of the colors just didn't preform well. Finger swatches looked great but applying with a brush was difficult as some of the colors weren't very pigmented. I didnât have a problem with blending colors or the color fading away as I blended the edges. Overall I could definitely see myself using the palette again. My mascara is Too Faced Better Than Sex on the top and Covergirl Full Lash Bloom on the bottom!

The matte eyeshadows are one of my favorite formulas, they blend in a split second and a little goes a long way. Most of them are pretty true to color, what you seen in the pan you will get on your eyes but some colors do oxidize when applied. As all shimmery shadows they are best applied with your finger tips for best color payoff. Most of them are a sheer but look nice for a more natural look/ wash of color. The palette consists a good balance between colorful and natural. I did my friends makeup for an event she was attending and managed to do a light smokey eye that looked elegant and cute. I used the colors 3, 12, 22, 29, and 38 to create the look that was effortless to blend and built very well. I was very pleased with the selection of green tones in the palette as my favorite color of all is 10, a beautiful mid tone neutral green that compliments my eye color in the best way possible. This palette screams fall time to me making it neutral enough to create a beautiful eye look. This palette has made me want to explore the brand more as drugstore brands have been improving formulas to match more prestige quality. This palette is for anyone that wants to play with color in a comfortable way, the shadows are easy to work with and wear nicely with a primer. A great selection of mostly mid to dark tones that would compliment mostly light to tan skin colors as most of the shades might be a little light for deep skin tones. The colour story is referred to by the brand as being a autumnal shade selection, but I think that it can produce looks for every season and every occasion, as the shade collection goes all the way from pastels to deep shades, in a good range of warm, neutral and cool tones.The matte & satin shades are smooth & pigmented and all apply very well - no skipping or colour fade, and I can't pick any shade out for underperforming. The satin shades work really well in the crease, when applied with a fluffy brush. The shimmer & metallic shades look and wear great, but do feel a bit dryer then I usually prefer - no big deal as they look & wear well, just be aware of the texture when applying them [finger application is best]. Every shade wears well; I've had no problems with anywhere between 8 to 12 hours of wear.I'm not saying that the formulas here are the greatest formulas full-stop or anything like that, but for the price-point they are good and I'd say that if you want to try a good mix of NYX eyeshadow formulas, but aren't sure which of the many palettes to get first, then this is a good option. However the NYX palette line now has a 40-pan edition of the Ultimate Utopia palette for sale and it has all of these shades in it, so the brand has made this palette more or less obsolete, since you can now get more than double the amount of product in the same quality and excellent shade range, for only a few pounds more.
Doo not ever discontinue this. Please. I have many palettes, but this has become my must have on deck. The collection of colors is perfection. I don't even like purple, but I can't leave these alone, especially with the greens, golds, blues, in these shades; all together! Great formula at a reasonable price. Thank you! Please. Please. Keep this around!
I don't think any picture of this palette will do it justice. Color 7 in top row has purple undertones and top row has soft colors and two shades of nude, with one having cool undertones. The bottom right corner is a deeper purple shimmer, while bottom left corner is an eggplant shade. The greens are gorgeous. I can't wait to create many looks with this palette.There is minimum to moderate fall-out, mainly shimmer shades. However, I will happily clean that up real quick, because color story is amazing.Formula on the mattes were softer than I imagined and so the first swipe of the brush, I was like, oh, this actually has some pigment! NICE!
I was surprised to see some of the comments say about poor quality as I couldn't agree less! I had been looking for an eyeshadow palette for ages and didn't want to spend a fortune. I came across this one and thought I'd give it a go and it's been absolutely brilliant! The colours are really pigmented and very bold when they go on (with exception of a few of the paler colours that need to be built up a little) and I get nothing but compliments whenever I have any of the eyeshadows on. Would defos recommend and would happily buy again.
