Overall, I would say that this component has worked well for me thus far. I have noticed a decrease in the temperatures that my CPU runs at as a result of using this liquid CPU cooler instead of the heatsink. I appreciate this very much as upgrading software and using an attached capture card was taxing the CPU on my new PC causing it to run hot. In the past, I have had some problems with traditional heatsinks: my old PC lasted for thirteen years and I am pretty sure the heatsink failing was what led to it’s demise. I guess time will tell whether or not the NZXT – Kraken 120 will allow my newer PC to achieve greater longevity.Prior to purchasing this component, I really had to educate myself on it as I was fairly naïve to how it worked. I guess time will tell whether or not the NZXT – Kraken 120 will allow my newer PC to achieve greater longevity.Prior to purchasing this component, I really had to educate myself on it as I was fairly naïve to how it worked. I had to learn the difference between it, air cooling, and open (or custom) loops in order to fully appreciate how this component would function in my rig. Luckily there are plenty of videos and websites out there that can be used as credible educational material. I would strongly advise anyone considering an upgrade such as this to do similar research unless they are already confident that they know what they are getting into.Something that I had to come to understand was that this is an “all-in-one” (AIO) cooler versus an open (or custom) cooling loop. That is, this AIO comes with a pump, radiator, and water block that are preassembled together prior to being installed. This is nice as, by contrast to an open cooling loop, this AIO is zero maintenance after installation and does not require coolant (or water) filling/topping off. However, given these features this AIO can’t be used to cool down other components of the PC (e.g, the graphics card) which is a feature that an open system supposedly is capable of. I will also admit that given the nature of the coolant I am concerned about it being a viable, long-term alternative to air cooling. This, again, will only be something that can be determined through the test of time, though (thanks to Intel, Corsair, and Asetek Inc. for some information here as all these thoughts are not original on my behalf).I should also indicate that I had this component professionally installed by Geek Squad. I highly recommend making use of s service such as that (or a sound alternative). It takes a lot of stress away from the situation by having it installed by courteous, knowledgeable professionals who can back-up their work in case anything goes wrong. My biggest complaint with this component thus far is that it requires an RGB controller that is sold separately to control the RGB lights. I was a little disappointed when I found this out as being able to monitor the temperature of my computer’s components has become a priority for me given some of the tasks that I am striving to have it be able to achieve efficiently. That being said, this was a very modestly priced AIO and when the cost of a separate RGB controller is factored in on top of it the total expense probably turns out to be competitive with the cost for a cooler that comes with an RGB controller included.

This is a CPU Fryer. Not only will you waste your money, you will also fry the CPU. My brother's gaming PC was going into thermal shutdown because this thing failed at its job. It came stock on his NZXT computer. Once we replaced it with a Noctua standard-type cooler the computer worked perfectly. If you are going to go with a water cooler go with something that works.I took it apart and the most expensive part is the RGB CPU light. The cooling system has many failures as you can see in the picture attached. The water pump is located in the center of the radiator, which means only 2/3 of the radiator is used. The blades on the water pump are basically toothpicks that stir water. The water pump is then encased in a shroud which has two small holes, effectively it ... MoreThis is a CPU Fryer. The coolant was full of crud and aluminum oxide meaning the radiator was rusting because of cheap coolant. The cooler was only a year old.

I have NZXT elite 510 case and this AIO was perfect for it because I already have a controller for CAM software and room for just one fan on back and top of the case.I mounted it on the back, and it was very easy (if you know how, and I didn't at first). I replaced non RGB fan with AER 2 RGB. Tip, if you have same case as me: there are 2 cables coming form the head of AIO, male and female. Unplug LED strip from controller, plug male cable into that slot, and in another cable, female one you plug that LED strip. This is my daughters PC and she plays Genshin Impact on it, with Ryzen 5 4650g using integrated GPU only. It runs at max settings at 75 fps (monitor max) and it never get hotter than 50c.Head of the AIO looks really nice, RGB is very vibrant and ... MoreI have NZXT elite 510 case and this AIO was perfect for it because I already have a controller for CAM software and room for just one fan on back and top of the case.I mounted it on the back, and it was very easy (if you know how, and I didn't at first). I love this AIO cooler! It works great! The only issue is that I wasn’t able to plug in the RGB because I didn’t have room :( but that’s on me, not them. I love it though! My computer could only fit a 120mm AIO into it and this one excels! I was nervous because of the reviews, but it’s worth it.
Bought this open box "excellent" from a local Best Buy and it's a great addition to my desktop. It was easy to set up and maneuver into place inside my full towe case.I have an MSI motherboard and the RGB on the Kraken is controlled directly via the motherboard lighting controls - no software or hub required. When I first bought it, I thought it was defective because it was flashing red. I noticed the flashing was increasing in time and it dawned on me that it was a stacking animation that I had set for my memory and motherboard lighting. Give it a shot if you aren't seeing the lighting results you were expecting.
I got this because I thought this was a good cooler. I was wrong. Within a couple of days of me getting this, my computer was overheating. Lucky my pc has a safeguard to shut down when it's hot. It was at 95c, Also no instructions came with the cooler, and I had to look it up online so lucky I had a laptop. I used extra thermal paste and this is bad design. Don't buy.
The Kaken 120 does a good job of keeping my i5 - 12600KF cool but the LED in the pump head no longer works. It worked for the first week of use but not longer lights up. I have tried using different LED headers on the mobo to see if that will get it to light up but no such luck.I will be looking for a return or refund
This product is amazing. It really helped my pc breathe more. I was getting cpu temps around 60c but now temps are around 47 celcius. Especially since I game hi end graphical settings. Also there is plenty of room in my pc using the kraken. I recommend
Didn’t last a year before the pump died. Please do not buy this dog water AIO if you care about your PC or person you are buying it for. It’s price and easy installation do not make for the lack of support from the brand company nor the lack of quality of the product itself. Spend the extra 20-40 on any thing but this.
I recently purchased this CPU cooling system for my PC build, and it definitely has some pros and cons:Pros:The cooling works excellently. If you want a cheaper option for water cooling for your CPU it's definitely a bargain up front.Cons:The rgb setup is not as straight forward as hoped. Unlike with Corsair how it comes with the rgb controller to get the rgb working. The rgb controller for the NZXT is sold seperately and sells for an additional $50 on top of the price of the cooling system. I would not have had an issue paying the extra if the controller came in the box, but I didn't see anywhere on the packaging where it says that the controller is sold seperately even though the instructions show you how to set it up with a controller. So, if you don't ... MoreI recently purchased this CPU cooling system for my PC build, and it definitely has some pros and cons:Pros:The cooling works excellently.
