A great helmet!
I did a decent amount of research before choosing this helmet. I was looking for a helmet that was safe, stylish, and affordable. Although I purchased at the Next Adventure website, I initally tried it on, along with several other helmets, and it was a great fit and looked good, too. The best part? The magnetic chin strap buckle!! It makes securing and removal of the strap almost effortless! Following the maiden voyage of the helmet this past weekend, I love it. A terrific price for a solid helmet.... Show more

Good looking helmet
I really like the look of this helmet compared to other brand. The quality seems pretty good. I’m not a snowboarder expert but it seems to be good enough for beginners. I bought the grey one on sale and fit well. My baseball cap size is 7 3/8 and I opt to get the XL so I can wear it with a skull cap/balaclava. I think the L would fits well if you’re not wearing anything underneath it. The adjustable BOA is a plus!... Show more

It's fine. Not necessarily blown away
Fairly comfortable. My ODT Chips kind of press against my ears where this wasn't an issue in my previous k2 helmet. I'll have to look into maybe removing some padding from the ear flaps. Overall, it's a helmet. It's fine. I really like the color (green). It seems to fit a tad small. According to my measurements I should have been able to fit in a medium (I couldn't) but even the large isn't loose at all on my head. If you're on the line between medium and large when you measure your head go with a large.... Show more

I WOULD TOTALLY BUY THIS HELMET AGAIN. I ACTUALLY DID...
The helmet is great! First of all I want to shout out Peter Glenn! The customer service is great. They got back to me super quickly with any questions I had and the advice was great. Now back to the helmet. The vents right above the visor was a great add to keep fog out of my goggles. I also really like the new MIPS tech that gives me a sense of peace knowing my dome is heavily protected. The cherry on top is the magnetic chin strap. I wish I had this thing on my motorcycle helmet. It doesn't unlock by accident and it only takes one hand to put it on or take it off. HUGE plus on the slopes with some big gloves on. All and all, I love it.#sweepstakes... Show more

Love it
This helmet is super lightweight and fits really well. I love the BOA adjustment and really love the magnetic clip. The magnetic clip is so much better than the traditional clip. I'd recommend this helmet for that alone. Removed one star because it's not quite as comfortable or soft as other winter sport helmets I've tried before.... Show more

Must try if you have a 'round' head
Used to wear XL for 'non-round' fit helmets that does not fit well. So glad I found out about these round fit variants, now wearing a L. Really like the BOE dial. If you sometimes wear a balaclava (and sometimes not), you should seriously consider a helmet with BOE for easy adjustment. The helmet is light weight enough and the magnetic strap buckle works really well. The blue one also looks sharp without being overly flashy.... Show more

noggin protector
Purchased this helmet as my old one had seen better days. I was unable to locate one locally and decided to take a chance on one from here. I read the reviews and sizing guides and determined that this would be the helmet I would go for. It is light, comfortable and makes me look like a true professional on the slopes. I only wish I would have pulled the trigger sooner on this as my confidence has grown immensely. If you wanna shred with the best then buy one of these helmets. In all honesty, I love the helmet and recommend it to others.... Show more

Oakley Mod1 with vs without MIPS vs PRO
I’m a fan of the simplicity of the Mod1 in certain form. I’ve tried them all. With and without MIPS, as well as the Pro. The Pro is too heavy for my liking and is counterproductive in the sense it adds mass and therefore additional force when you’re falling and I’s sooner stick to the much lighter Mod1 (15oz vs 1.5lbs of the Mod1 Pro)The MIPS I used to think was a ‘why wouldn’t you take the option if available’, but honestly, I prefer the simplicity of the plain Mod1 over the MOD1 Mips and I’m finding I’m not alone, I’ve talked with a few people that gravitate to the Mod1 without MIPS. The MiPS does take up some room so be cognizant of this fact when trying on helmets and deciding what fits you best, as it’s almost half a size difference if that makes sense. For ... For this reason I have indicated the versions with MIPS feels to run small, whereas the Mod1 without MiPS runs true to size. The Mod1 with or without MIPS is a fantastic, simple helmet that gets the job done, it’s clean look and profile a winner in my books. It’s lightweight, and fits nicely under almost modern jacket hoods if needed. The ONLY thing I wish it had was removable ear pads but then again, I can’t remember the last time I removed my helmet’s ear pads since I’ve been wearing helmets (over 20 years now?)I like the Mod1 so much I may purchase another in a different colour just to have, and the team at Altitude Sports has been FANTASTIC to deal with, and if you need to return/exchange for a different size, the process couldn’t be easier.... Bought two of these- one for the lady and myself. They seem to have good build quality, fit well, and pair nice with both they Flight Deck M and L goggle. Make sure to measure your head or try on before buying as they seem to run a tiny bit on the small side. Incorporating MIPS technology is also a big plus. You’d be silly not to buy a helmet nowadays without some sort of secondary impact protection feature... Show more

Why the hard plastic on the neck?
I'm actually very confused. Firstly, how do none of the reviews not mention how uncomfortable this helmet is, and secondly, why on earth did Smith decide to have two rigid, cold pieces of plastic digging into the back of your head while wearing this helmet? It makes no sense. Any time I look up they dig into the back of my neck. Maybe this helmet was better when it had the Boa system, but I'm not sure how this got beyond the drafting board. It's pretty much the same feel as a cheap/poorly designed bike helmet. Love the look of it though.... Show more
