By far my favorite pair of sunglasses ever! The vision through the lens is incredible - the color and vividness is superior to other glasses. I was a little worried they would bother me because they were a little tight when I tried them on in the store. After wearing them a few weeks, they are still a little tight - but it doesn’t bother me nor give me a headache. The tightness actually is nice because the stay on my face when exercising. I’ve tried them on my bike, walking, and running and have not had any issues nor have they fallen off.

I actually ordered these because they were on a special sale with the expectation that I would be returning them. I ordered another pair from a different company and the reviews/recommendations really suggested the other pair. But I tried these for a bike ride and was wildly in love. Great wind blocking, excellent peripheral vision, and fun look. The road lenses are also really clear and unique. I was especially excited when I went for a six mile run in 80+ degrees and they did not fog up or feel like they're overheating. That was the biggest issue with the other pair and a huge relief with these - the little air holes along the top really allow for air circulation without sacrificing comfort or utility. The only real downside is that I do not foresee myself wearing these outside of exercise because they are pretty sporty. Luckily I got them on sale so I don't mind getting another pair for casual wear.

My first impression was of disappointment, I thought that sunglasses in prescription lenses would have been the whole lens not just two small ovals. Also those lenses were of a different color shade to the rest of the lens, so they just looked out of place. I think further iterations of these should consist of the whole lens being prescription. Due to them not, I have returned them and will not be purchasing any products from Oakley again.

Prizm Road Black looks like they'd be TOO violet/rose, but once they're on, the tint is barely noticeable. They're pleasant to look through and there is very very little distortion. But like others have said, these DO seem to let in more light than you'd expect so they're not going to be a favorite in bright conditions. They're a good everyday color option for those who don't want the more eye catching Oakley colors. Thanks to the arm design, the Radar EV frames stay on securely even though they're too wide for me. ( I almost purchased the XS version but the lens selection for the XS is pitiful - Oakley doesn't even make pitch lenses for them !!! ) Now on to the not-so-great....The Prizm effect is super subtle ( nonexistent ? ) on these. I just don't notice any difference between Prizm Road Black and non-prizm lenses. I expected to see a difference in street markings and signs because thats how these 'road' lenses are marketed. But there was no difference. At first I thought maybe the red and green streetlights were highlighted along with the children crossing signs. But when I did the same route in less expensive brown suglasses I had the same experience. Even my cheapie gray sunglasses seem to allow the red and green streetlights and school crossing signs to remain brighter. So....no difference. I just don't notice any prizm effect at all with Road Black.
Fast delivery as usual from Golfbox! These are excellent glasses with respect to colour, glare, uv protection, fit and comfort. On the negative, I looked like a speed dealer and almost got kicked off the course. Also missed 3 putts from less than 1 metre, which was obviously the fault of these glasses and not the user. Just kidding…. great glasses that made people mistake me for Ricky Fowler.
I have had my Radar EV Path glasses for about 12 months now. I got the Deep Water Poloarized lens and they have been wonderful in every aspect. I've worn them fishing (inshore, but they work fine). I wear a tie to work every day (finance) and I've tried to find suitable 'work' glasses since I got these. The blue lens (my wife says) doesn't look that good with dress clothes. The thing that is BEST for me about these glasses is the nose piece - no plastic touches my nose AT ALL - and I have an old break in my nose that hurts after awhile with a lot of sunglasses. This nose piece is the best I've ever tried. The ear pieces on the Radar EV's are also amazing, I've never had any slipage, ever. No matter if I'm running, on the boat in 100 degree weather...anything, they have never slipped. Never hurt my nose, and they fit UNDER a ball cap perfectly.I tried the Split shot - they rubbed my eyelashes and after about an hour, they hurt my nose a little... it was just distracting to have my eyelashes rub the lenses.I tried the Cross Range - they were billed as more "suitable" for dress...and I suppose they are, but they still rub my nose with plastic...the unobtanium is there...but it's not THERE like the Radar EV's.Finally, I just said the heck with it - and I bought another pair of the Radar EV's with a black lens and matte black frame. Suit / dress glasses DONE, I'm happy. I have found my glasses for my personal best use. I got over $400 in 2 pairs....but I know they will last.I have an old pair of our son's Radar's that he had playuing HS baseball. They are about 10-12 years old and I use them to mow the yard but they don't fit my adult face right. They have scratches and lot of wear marks being that a teen used them constantly about year round...but they are still good and I wear them to mow. The Radar Frames are tough for sure.I also like how they sit on my head - ball cap or not.
This is my 7th pair of Oakleys and 3rd Radar. I own two of the original Radars from 2006 and thought it was time to buy a new pair as lenses for my old versions are hard to come by. I was happy to see the new radars are improved upon in every way. They still look cool but the lenses are better with much better optics, almost like seeing the world in 4K.I know the price is high and some may think not worth it but another reason I like these is for impact protection. Members of the US Army use these to protect their eyes which was a big selling point for me! You do occasionally have a rock or similar hit you in your face and I want my eyes protected.Worth every penny to me for the safety and optics!
There are two unique features that come together to make this an extremely useful and durable pair of sunglasses. First is the Radar EV (model) Frame itself. The "EV" stands for Extended View. Compared to it's predecessor, the shield lens on the EV model extends out an extra few key millimeters on each side of your face, leaving zero gap in peripheral coverage (pic attached showing this "EV" detail on the lens). It's something of a quirky look at first, but the moment you put them on your face you immediately appreciate the extended peripheral coverage. The new "EV" model also extends your peripheral coverage "upward" by several millimeters (think outfielder tracking a fly ball or a biker with head down looking forward at the road ahead). The new "EV" model also extends your peripheral coverage "upward" by several millimeters (think outfielder tracking a fly ball or a biker with head down looking forward at the road ahead). This is why the frame has an "arched" design when looking at it from the front. In my opinion, the Radar EV model the premier sports frame on the market. The lightweight "O-Matter" frame is made of durable material capable of taking a bit of a beating, a possible occurrence with this pair as it's designed for an active environment (be mindful of your lenses, though.. you don't want them taking any kind of beating). The frame itself is designed to withstand pretty exceptional bending and stretching, again, a great feature if you're looking for a durable pair of sports sunglasses. The rubber on the ear stems and nosepiece - combined with the built-in venting of the lenses and frame - make for an exceptionally comfortable wearing experience .. regardless if you're out on your bike, jogging, or just wearing casually. After wearing these a couple times and getting used to the smooth grip, it quickly becomes difficult to even tell you're wearing them once you put them on. There is no "slipping" or moving of the glasses while on your head (haha, I dare you to try and get these to fall off your head - without using your hands of course). The second unique feature is the Prizm Road lens. Allowing 20% ambient light transmission, it works for bright, sunny conditions yet is not so dark that you can't make out details of road/ground features if your path takes you out of the sun and into a more shaded area for a little while. Moreover, the Prizm technology of the lenses highlight the features you are most likely to be looking for while jogging or biking. It shows the paved road more clearly (in high detail) as well as features on unpaved or dirt paths. It's like viewing your environment in HD. In my opinion, Prizm Road can act as a good "all-around" sports lens, however, Oakley does make other sports-specific lenses with their own varying light transmissions and "Prizm" specific environmental features (Golf, Baseball, Shallow Water Fishing, etc). But the 20% light transmission of Prizm Road lens is a comfortable medium (for me). If you were going to own only one pair of Prizm lenses for sporting purposes this would probably be the one .. and definitely the one for: biking, jogging, walking, or any activity where you need to be aware of the road or path in front of you. Just FYI: There is a Prizm lens called "Prizm Trail" specifically designed for medium-to-heavily shaded trails for the above activities. It allows 36% light transmission and the light spectrum on Prizm Trail allows your eyes to more easily see browns and reds (think roots and rocks on the trail). BUT, at 36% light transmission, the "Prizm Trail" lens is NOT going to be dark enough if you're out in the open sun for any extended period of time. Hence why I prefer the Prizm Road as more useful, multi-purpose Prizm lens. The one downfall to the Prizm Road lens for me (and all the sporting prizm lenses, except the prizm fishing lenses) is that it is not polarized. For sports purposes only some say this is actually an advantage. For me, with my sensitive-to-glare eyes, I find polarized lenses more ideal. Though I will say that these Prizm Road lenses do seem to provide some reduction to heavy glare anyway despite not being polarized, and when biking I don't wear anything else. Additionally, it's good to know that the lenses are interchangeable on the frame. So, if you decide to want, say, the Prizm Field lens for baseball.. or the Prizm Daily Polarized lens, know that you can get the desired lens separately and interchange it with the single frame. Oh, btw, these look pretty cool, too. You'll definitely stand out in a crowd and are almost guaranteed at least a few comments.
The description nails these as 'glasses for 9 months of the year'. Whilst you might struggle in peak summer, blue skies and direct sunshine, these glasses excel in overcast, rain, woodland, dark to light trails. The glasses tint ranges from 10% (clear) to I'd say 70% (reflective). They've misted up a little when you come to a stop, but within 5 metres of rolling, they're clear again. They fit spot on with my Giro Agilis helmet.
First off, over the last 15 years I've bought pretty much every type of oakley product under the sun: standard, prizm, polarized, and polarized prizm lenses. The polarized prizm lenses are very fragile, way more than an expensive pair of glasses should be. I take very good care of them, dont use any foreign cleaners, and only wipe with the bag theyre provided in. I treat them the same as the other 3 types of lenses they make. After about 3 years owning them and only using them about once every other month when I golf the lenses were eroding from the inside. I took them to an oakley store and they said it can happen to any of their lenses when they are in contact with foreign substances such as sunscreen or hair product. I took them to an oakley store and they said it can happen to any of their lenses when they are in contact with foreign substances such as sunscreen or hair product. I thought that was pretty ridiculous since most of the time I'm wearing sunglasses Im also wearing sunscreen because its sunny out. I dont wear hair product but some people do and rest sunglasses on their head while inside. Before this happened they are fantastic lenses. I would say their prizm technology is better than polarized glasses and when you combined them its perfect. Just keep in mind how fragile they are even when they dont get scratched. I bought polarized prizm replacement lenses because of how clear and high quality they are and I'll try to make sure I dont wear sunscreen around them anymore. The only other brand I've tried is ray-ban and they dont even come close to oakley. I'm disappointed in the durability but the clarity is unmatchedPS: especially around the holidays if youre ordering with 2 day shipping and expecting to actually receive them in 2 days dont get your hopes up. I chose 2 day shipping when i ordered on saturday and they didnt even leave the warehouse until wednesday. It wasnt the shipping company's fault because they delivered it in 2 days when they actually received it. If i place an order on saturday morning I expect it to leave the warehouse first thing on monday at the latest.
