I was looking for a lightweight pair of sunglasses I could wear for all outdoor running. These are amazing. No bounce, and the frames stay pretty set on my face. I might make 1-2 small adjustments per mile, and that’s mostly due to a hat pushing them around. Rubber grips (like on the nose) on the back of the arms would be a nice addition and really keep them in place, but no complaints as they are right now. I was a little hesitant the first time I picked them up and felt how light they were, but the quality is amazing and I almost forget that I’m wearing them. I’ve done sprints, hill runs, and long runs in these, and they don’t fog up from sweat, which was one of my biggest concerns for sunglasses with this much coverage. Love these sunglasses. Yes they are big, however, if you have a medium to large size head they are perfect. The prism road jade lens is a good all around lens, just slightly darker than the regular prism road. I've used them for casual purposes, as well as daytime road cycling, and all is good. They have a bit of a mirrored finish/ look. As for the gray ink frame, they are the reason I choose this particular pair of sunglasses. They are translucent, with a charcoal/smoke colour mixed in. If you have a smaller head, and are concerned about the size, just go with the Sutro S. Know however that the "S" doesn't appear to come in grey ink.

I’ve been using Oakley Radars as my default cycling glasses for many years and, in the main, I’ve been very satisfied with them; however, there were occasions, especially when in the drops, I found the top of the glasses obscuring my vision. So I thought I’d give the Sutros a try. I gave them a good test on a recent trip to Gran Canaria and I wasn’t disappointed. Indeed, they were excellent. They were a perfect fit that I often forgot that I was wearing them. They provided great protection and clear vision in all sorts of light conditions. Before buying, I was concerned that the lenses were too large and at risk of fogging, but I had no problems at all. I am extremely pleased with my Sutros and would highly recommend them.

Let me start off by saying that these are some of the best looking sunglasses that I've owned. I purchased them about a month ago as they are marketed as cycling/lifestyle glasses. before purchasing these, I have purchased and still own the original Radars. However, whereas the Radars are very sporty in their looks, the Sutros are truly a multipurpose pair of sunglasses. I love the oversized aesthetic and classic styling. They are extremely light given their size and very comfortable to wear. The field of view they provide is second to none. And with the Prizm Road lenses that mine came with, not only are you getting great looks, but I truly believe the technology helps you view while out on the road. However, given all of the positives of these sunglasses, I am ... MoreLet me start off by saying that these are some of the best looking sunglasses that I've owned. They are extremely light given their size and very comfortable to wear. The field of view they provide is second to none. And with the Prizm Road lenses that mine came with, not only are you getting great looks, but I truly believe the technology helps you view while out on the road. However, given all of the positives of these sunglasses, I am very disappointed in the durability of the lenses. As previously mentioned, I have owned these glasses for about a month and have worn them maybe 10 times total. About half of the time they've been worn while out on the bike. As Oakley's are not cheap to buy, I take every precaution not to touch the lens of the glasses with my hands and to only store them within the microfiber cloth AND hard case provided. Furthermore, I make sure to clean them according to Oakley's own guidelines. Unfortunately, these glasses have already developed a visible scratch on the left side of the lens. Given that I make sure there is no large debris on the lenses before cleaning them as per Oakley's instructions, the scratch must have developed from the microfiber cloth (which I also take care to clean very frequently). I never had this issue with my Radars (which were used for baseball) and after 10 years of ownership still are scratch free save for the edge of the lens that slides into and out of the frame (and not visible when installed in the frame). It is sad that a product that has only been worn about 10 times and handled with every precaution during use and cleaning could scratch so easily. I love Oakley and their designs (especially Sutro!), but when a product is lacking durability like these glasses are, I do not believe I can recommend another person to purchase them.
I purchased these sunglass with the intention of running with them. So far they've done well. There is a tiny amount of nose slippage in the hot Texas heat. It's barely noticeable and basically not existent, but it does happen. However, I can see myself running a marathon in these without any problems. The wrap around frame/lens design shields my eyes from road reflections and makes running more enjoyable. Depending on the temperature, you may miss the breeze/air hitting your eye area, but it's a small tradeoff to keep the sun out of your eyes over long distances. I would purchase again and I do recommend them to those looking for running glasses.
When I first seen these sunglasses I was like got to have them. I went to the Oakley Vault in Milpitas, Ca. To try them on. I try them on until I was hounded by a sales associate. I believe they were for me. I order them, got them and now I am unsatisfied. They don’t fit right on my nose area, when wearing ball cap forward they conflict with the ball cap bill. I turned the hat backwards and I have a better fit. Now arms on the sunglasses have tension to them but it don’t fit right when I move left left/right the sites don’t feel secure. I do like the 24kt lens, and the view covering your eyes are good maybe I need to break them in more,, but as of now not impressed especially have two other pairs of Oakleys.
Beautiful glasses. Very vivid when riding. Good coverage. Only downside is the arms are kind of stiff so when putting on my helmet kind of hurts my big head. May be the size of my head or the helmet I have and how it angles towards my head. I bought some cheaper Garneau sunglasses and those are more comfy upside down. However these look a lot cooler so won't need to put on my helmet.
Love the looks especially for biking. For general wear, probably not. Quality is great. Tint in bright sun is good and very clear. Not 5 stars because of 2 design issues. Nose piece just appears more of an add-on versus integrated design and sits on the nose further down. The wide design is great for winds, but the flare-out from the corners allows for low sun to glare inside. Overall, I’m still very happy with the purchase. Just a few design items that could make it better functionally.
Love them! I already had some Radar XL but was looking for something a bit more stylish. The coverage is amazing and they don't feel heavy and uncomfortable. My main purpose will be for driving, cycling, running and just everyday stuff really. The Prizm Road lens really highlights the colors in an overcast weather which is what I was looking for. The lens' tint is a BIT more subtle than I anticipated, so if you're looking for a lens for very bright and sunny days you might want to shop for a different lens or get an additional one (that's what I'm planning to eventually).
I'd been in the market for some running and biking glasses and came across the Sutros. I was a little bit hesitant at first because they seemed like they might fog up in certain conditions, but up to this point I haven't had any issues. They came in a high-quality hard case, with a microfiber bag as well, which is nice for when I need to chuck them in my bag for travel! I've put in a bunch of miles running in them and haven't had any issues with them. They don't bounce or slide off of my face like some of my other glasses would while running or Mountain Biking. They also fit really great with my Bike helmet, which is a plus! The Prizm Trail lens does a great job of providing contrast and keeping my eyes from straining. The lens is pretty large, so if you have a smaller face or prefer smaller lenses then I'd look into the Sutro S!
