OGX Biotin and Collagen Shampoo - 385 ml.

Several other reviews mentioned this helping with hair loss, or slowing it down, so I decided to purchase a bottle to try out many moons ago, when my hair loss issue was at its peak, and also again more recently just to see if my thoughts on it had changed over time. They haven't! Aside from how overly perfumed this shampoo was and therefore my hair too, I didn't notice any other benefit or effect from using this, nor any difference in my hair quality. It lathers nicely and feels like a more higher end formula, but it left my hair completely flat for some reason and weighed down. Okay let’s talk. OGX has been under fire because of DMDM hydantoin being in their products . It is no longer in their products . I recently just picked up the shampoo and conditioner from target and right after i heard about the ongoing lawsuit. I checked the ingredients and they removed that particular one. Other than that I’ve always loved this shampoo and conditioner. It is a DEEP Cleansing shampoo. This product has sulfates and I’m natural but sulfates can be good or bad depending on the products and when i say this shampoo cleans my hair and leaves me with the feeling knowing my hair is deeply washed so no buildup will occur. This was one of the products I had used/rotated back then and then I went off on total no-poo territory for a long time. I currently use clean-ish shampoo brands. Lately, due to stress and some nutritional deficiencies, my hair has been looking limp, lackluster and awful. For context, I have low density hair but it is generally thick, wavy and big. I was extremely skeptical about using this shampoo after reading reviews about hair falling out. So, I googled the ingredients that were claimed to do this. I found out it is in almost every skin and hair care product available. Seriously. You can look this up yourself as well. Good luck with that lawsuit Hun because you're not going to win. It's even in salon shampoos and conditioners. So after finding this out I was more brave about using it and I'm so glad I did! I'm not even halfway through the bottle and my hair is in amazing condition thanks to this shampoo! It's thick and healthy again! Ok shampoo

I can't say there's anything special about this shampoo that other drug store shampoos for almost half the price. I got it because I had heard others talk about it and because it was on sale. I have straight fine hair, don't really use products other than conditioner and masks so I can't attest to have well it removes build up per se. However, this suds up so much and really gets into the scalp! There are other shampoos where I find myself scrubbing a lot more to get it to the scalp but this one bubbles up a lot more than usual so I don't have to put in as much stress on the hair rubbing around. Definitely a plus that it doesn't have sulfates and it performs this well! In terms of the scent, to me it smells like an unripe banana lol like when a banana looks like a soft yellow with hints of green and you decide to peel it only to smell this tangy sweetness. It doesn't smell bad and it actually doesn't linger on my hair but just thought I'd mention it. It's a good shampoo but as someone with straight hair that hasn't dyed it in years, it doesn't blow me out of the water and I would gravitate towards something cheaper.

Quality has changed

I've been using the OGX brand before J&J bought it out around 2016. The Biotin and Collagen line used to be amazing, it actually made my hair look and feel thicker, and other people noticed it too (this was in 2015). But as the years have come and gone, and I do intermittently change out my shampoo and conditioner throughout the seasons, the Biotin and Collagen shampoo and conditioner by OGX does little to nothing. I'm aware of the lawsuit and although I've never had problems with hair loss from this company (but definitely others), as someone who used to be loyal to this brand since early highschool, it has changed. The quality does not hold up and it's definitely not worth this price. So Drying

I began using Kristen Ess shampoo and conditioner in January. I initially started with the gentle shampoo and conditioner and eventually transitioned to The One shampoo and conditioner around March. Starting in July I noticed my hair was EXTREMELY dry and frizzy. I do have color treated hair and thought my recent hair coloring could be the issue so I continued to use The One and mix in other moisturizing products. Not having usually frizzy hair, I blamed it on the weather or my other styling products and finally caved and purchased some Olaplex to help my frizz. Even after a month of weekly Olaplex deep conditioning, I was having uncontrollable frizz issues like I had never had before. I literally had people asking me if I had people asking me if I had gotten a Brazilian blowout because my hair went from dull, dry, and frizzy to sleek and shiny like before in three washes! I wish I could save myself the months of feeling like my hair was dead and switch to a different shampoo sooner. Don't let the scent fool you, it's a terrible product in pretty packaging.

Works well with other products

I've been using this shampoo (and the conditioner) for about 4 months. Firstly, I LOVE the bottle and the scent. Secondly, this product works VERY well on my hair (thick, and normal-to-dry). However, I strongly recommend using these products in conjunction with a regular moisturizing product. I only wash my hair a few times a week, so about every other time, I work in my favorite hair mask.Another important consideration: my hair is color-treated. I have not noticed any stripping or any considerable fade while using this product. As for the hair loss, I have not noticed any considerable hair loss beyond what I typically find after a shower.In summary, follow the instructions on the bottle, and use a moisture boosting product. :)

I started using this shampoo about two years ago on and off. Coincidentally (not) this is when i started losing huge clumps of hair every time I washed it. I didn't know any better and thought it was my body changing and I thought I was just losing a lot of hair because I have a lot of it. While using this shampoo I never really felt like my hair ever looked good it just looked dry but I never accredit it to this shampoo I just thought I was doomed to have dull and dry hair forever. I recently got into taking better care of my hair and bought the redken all soft shampoo and i was SHOCKED that I didn't lose an EIGHTH of the hair I usually do when I wash my hair normally.
