Had an oil filter stuck in 2004 Corolla, so I tried five different tools all in all. This one was one of those that didn't do the job. The Corolla filter is inside the engine compartment (accessible from underneath the car), and isn't sticking out, so there is no room to use any forcep or basic strap type of wrench. While this wrapped around the filter rather nicely, it didn't do much to get it off, only bent the filter canister slightly. To add, none of the wrench-driven plastic cup type tools were useful either--they just kept on slipping. The filter came rather easily with a two part spring-held cup type of wrench, a.k.a. "import car filter wrench".

Couldn't move my plastic modern filter housing at all. Also, without a 2 inch surface to stay flat on this, this thing slips off like crazy. Waste of money unless you're working with an old metal filter in my experience.

Don't let the price fool you it's as durable as the name brand Leslie tool. The tube is very thick walled and you can get a lot of Leverage with this tool. I have name brand and compared it side-by-side and this one is half the cost and well worth it. The strap is durable webbing and the half-inch drive fits nicely into the end.

I like this wrench very much. It's big enough to fit anything up to 6 inches. I had good leverage with even a short stubby screw driver.I know one should hand tighten the oil filter back on. But I had a heck of a time laying underneath at a weird angle. My hand grip ain't the strongest. So I gently cheated with the strap wrench to put the filter back on. Worked like a charm. Best filter wrench yet.
Elegantly simple solution to tight places. In my case I used this product to remove a pool skimmer vacuum hose adapter that defied all other attempts to remove. Even submerged it worked perfectly.
Did not work for me. It just collapsed the oil filter . Probably works ok when filter is not extremely overtightened.
Filter was in a tight spot with little room on the side for a conventional filter wrench. Strap fit around the filter which was installed very tightly. Deformed the filter but it came off. It performed as needed.
I have used this for years on several vehicles and equipment. This time I had a filter freeze and would not un tighten. The strap broke mine and bought this new one and the strap broke again.. so it will not stand up to excessive pull
Could not get the oil filter of my 2007 Street Bob. K&N filter has a 17mm nut on top that in theory should make it easy. Wrong, the nut spun round in my first try. Several other vain attempts to remove also failed. This tool was mentioned on a forum and I thought I'd give it a try. Well, it worked perfectly and I can fully recommend it.
Not that impressed. It worked well getting oil filter off, not so much tightening it. I bought an oil filter wrench once I went back to Advanced. It slipped while I was trying to tighten and it fell off oil filter into oil pan... live and learn.
