I have dry, bleached hair and to improve my hair I bought Olaplex 3,4, and 5 before. They work well together and when I saw Olaplex 8 I decided to try it. IMO, this is the only olaplex product worth buying, and it truly is. It took a lot of experimenting to find a routine that worked for my coarse, super-thick middle eastern hair. I used to use the whole olaplex line (including shampoo and conditioner) but it stopped working for me at all after a few months, and never worked for me on its own. I always had to add 3-4 moisturizers, etc., on top of the olaplex line. I have never treated my hair in any way, FYI. This is the only olaplex product I still use and I use it religiously-- I put it in at the end of my shower, leave it in for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse it out, and it makes my hair much smoother. This plus 2 Ouai products daily is perfect.

I purchased this mask hoping that it would bring a little more shine and life to my hair. Unfortunately, I did not feel like this hair mask did anything really to improve my hair. It says it is a bond strengthener however I still noticed breakage and dryness. My main issue with the product is that you don’t get very much of it for the expensive price point. For $30 I only got a little over 3 ounces. I needed at least 12 pumps to fully coat my medium length hair. I find that I get a lot better results with cheaper products that last a lot longer. Better products do exist

I dont think this mask is good for super damaged hair. If you're like me and have thick bleached hair - this won't cut it. You'll be using so many pumps just trying to get your hair to detangle when they only recommend like 2 or 3 pumps. Then your hair ends up greasy 24 hours later. I dont think this product would be bad to mix in with another mask/conditioner. Alone this just wasn't enough moisture for me. I much prefer the pureology hydrate mask over this. If your hair is not super damaged this product may be enough for you. You really have to consider the thickness of your hair and level of damage you have. I'd probably have loved this if my hair didn't need as much moisture as it does.

In my opinion this is the best thing Olaplex make.

I've used the entire Olaplex range at one time or another. Sometimes together, sometimes separately with other non Olaplex products and overall they're decent products. But this is the best they make I think. I've used no.3 for helping the condition of my hair overall and whilst I'd say it does help, it's not a 'wow' moment for me. It needs a cumulative approach to really show it off where as this really doesn't. You can use this as a conditioner (I do!) if like me you're too lazy to sit around waiting for it to do it's mask thing (however, it does seem it works a little better if you can wait around!), You can mix it with other conditioners to make it last a little longer (because lets face it; it isn't cheap!) and in all of those examples, you will see a ... MoreI've used the entire Olaplex range at one time or another. The longer you have to give it the greater the effect. It’s not the worst mask out there

Purchased this product because I saw some good feedback about it. I use the entire Olaplex range and started using this mark once every 2 weeks in replacement of my conditioner. It’s good. Definitely does make your hair feel soft and lightweight. However, there is more packaging, than product. I didn’t feel like I got a lot of uses out of it. And I have short shoulder length hair so it’s not like I needed to use a lot of product in each session. I think it would be a massive improvement if the product was put into the same style of bottles as the number 3 product. Makes it more minimal this way. Other then that, it wouldn’t hurt to try it if you was interested.

Not what I expected..

I have used quite a few Olaplex products and always been impressed with the brand, however this mask did not do anything for me from what I saw. I have type 2A blonde color treated hair, and I am very cautious & consistent with the hair products I use to maintain my hairs manageability, moisture, shine and heat protection. I used this mask 4 different times and did not notice any results that were that noticable im regard to the cost of product either. My hair still felt dry and almost somewhat straw like day or so after. I definitely noticed using a blow dryer after applying product would give a better result and my hair would be smooth feeling vs when I air dried (but also use other products I'm conjunction in my hair routine). I personally prefer and use since "It's a 10 Miracle Hair Mask" and/or Bondi Boost Miracle Hair Mask as well as Verb Ghost Mask and have noticed big difference with all of those and are my favorite moisture/repair type hair masks. Also, keep in mind with this review I also was already applying Verb Ghost Heat Protectant and Verb Leave in Conditioner (when using Olaplex as well) and continue with those in routine with the hair masks being a weekly thing.

First off, I really don't like having to step out of the shower and wait for 10 minutes while the mask processes before going back in to rinse it off. The K18 is more convenient, because it's a leave-in. Second in the description for this mask it says it makes your hair so healthy it can skip the styling. That is absolutely not true. My hair still looks and feels like cotton wool after rinsing it out, and I have to use styling products to be able to detangle it without hating my life. Otherwise yes my damaged hair looks healthy after blow-drying, and the ends aren't too frizzy (that's my ultimate test) the mask rinsed out of my hair no problem and did not leave a residue. I feel that if you have high-porosity hair you still need to balance this mask with a protein product - I think the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner have protein but I haven't tried them. I'm on the fence about whether I would repurchase, I'll update my review once my bottle is finished. It's a lot cheaper than K18 so that may sway my decision.

The best hair mask

This is hands down the best hair mask that I have ever used, and definitely my favourite olaplex product so far! I have waist long, thick, wavy and dry/damaged hair (uncoloured) and this has worked wonders putting some moisture back into the lengths and ends. They do not feel so rough and coarse after use, my hair actually feels moisturised and softer after use. It has a beautiful creamy texture that just slips right through the lengths and washes out so easily, no residual film or weighed down greasy feel. My hair is much easier to brush and manage after using. I have been able to get about 10-15 uses out of the bottle (given the length and thickness of my hair). Expensive, yes. Worth it? Absaloutley. Especially if your hair is dry, damaged, coarse.

Worth the Outrageous Cost

I rarely write reviews, but I am in LOVE this product and wanted to share that given how often I decide on whether or nor to buy based on reviews. To be clear, I have only tried this and Olaplex 3, and the 3 left me underwhelmed. When I got this, I was frustrated to find it thinner than many plain conditioners, let alone other deep conditioners, something I didn't see brought up in reviews. If you have long, thick hair like me and use it often, you will go through it quickly. Yes, you can be stingy, but you won't get the same results unless you fully condition your hair. However, it's one of the few expensive products (based on cost per ounce) I have tried that is worth the expense. You may be able to get away with cheaper regular conditioner in between washes with this if funds are limited. I often see reviewers say they wished they could return the product they don't like and find this both annoying and frustrating. If you don't like a hair or makeup item and aren't abusing the policy, you can absolutely return the product whether to Sephora, Ulta, a big box store, or even a drugstore. So if you are leaning toward purchasing but afraid to waste your money, give it a shot. There's nothing to be lost but 20 plus dollars and a great hair day to be gained. :)
