I’ve just unboxed my six drawer Oahu dresser and am struck by how deceptive the images are with regard to colour. This unit is NOT a great pale neutral. The rattan is yellow (they appear to have applied a veneer that’s made it yellow as the underside is quite a good colour) and the wood also has very yellow undertones. Some of the pieces also appear to be broken. Not a packaging issue (you could build a house with it) but appears to have happened at source. I know it’s an inexpensive unit but it’s not difficult to show colours correctly online these days or to find clear varnishes that don’t yellow over time.

Online purchases, particularly items not available to view in store, are always a gamble. The Oahu dresser is no exception. Once assembled the drawers don’t slide easily and feel flimsy. Best suited to occasional use in a spare (guest) room.
