I have purchased this product 3 times now with the same disappointing results. Each and every shell is broken in half at the fold. Although the packaging seems undamaged, it's always the same result. I spoke with the merchant manager and was informed that this is always the case. The manager recommended a store brand product that was 35% less cost. Each shell was intact and fresh. Consumers beware, this product is a waste of money, You won't be able to use these shells for tacos.

What did you do to these shells. Was your profit margin on these so bad you had to reduce their size to that of a 7/11 Mini Taco shell. Normally I always have soft shell tacos but had a craving for hard shell tonight. Went with the old standbys my mother always used but regretting that now. I was lucky to even get half the fixins in I normally would get. Seriously if the margins were that bad why didn’t you just knock the package count down to 10 and leave them the same size. On top of that who was the genius in the packaging department that wrote “Enlarged to show detail” on the front of the box. You should have just put “Actual Size”I am going to assume that the people in your marketing and product development departments don’t actually eat tacos because if they ... MoreWhat did you do to these shells. Not the best brand for Tex-Mex anything but widely available in the UK. Still, these are decent hard corn tacos. Reviewers confused about why they break apart: they are supposed to. Reviewers struggling with filling them: remember to put them in the oven for a few minutes, as per the instructions, and my personal tip is to put them upside down with the opening facing downwards; that way they don't cave in on themselves as easily. If they seem stale, it's because you haven't put them in the oven.

These are the best taco shells that I have ever eaten. Compared to other brands these shells stay fresh and have a perfect crunch to them. Others usually get hard and stale tasting after you heat them in the oven. These taco shells are of excellent quality and are reasonably priced and taste great. These will always be my first choice before buying any other brand of shells. Paying the difference in price is worth buying these shells over any other shell.
Bought the 12 pack of shells and when we opened the box I could not believe how small the shells were. As always fresh and crunchy but hat happened? My son ate an entire taco in 2 bites. Granted he had to work at it but there it was 2 bites. I am surprised that they were so small. Its time to make our own shells. Sorry El Paso you lost a life customer.
I have been buying Old El Paso Taco Shells for many many years... almost every time I grocery shop as we eat tacos once a week or so. Still my favorite brand of taco shells however I have noticed the last several boxes that the shells not only seem smaller... getting at least one broken shell... but they are getting over done (brown). I'm following the directions for 325 degrees 6-7 minutes and leave them in no longer than 6 minutes. I believe the box is reflecting directions for a bit larger taco shell than is now in the box. Shrinkflation?Someone suggested in another review to set temp for 300 degrees but it seems if that is the appropriate temperature... the box should reflect it. I like a crunchy taco shell... so I will keep the 325 degree per the box and take them out at 5 min and see how that works.Until recently... I would have given them 5 stars on the crunchy taco shells. Today... only 4 because I believe they are smaller. If they haven't changed the box to reflect the size... this might also explain the broken shells.
I haven’t bought these in a while so I’m not sure when this happened but these shells have shrunk so much I had to check the box and make sure I didn’t buy mini size. The flavor is good but these cannot be called regular size. These are mini kid size shells. The whole thing can be eaten in about three bites. We shouldn’t have to buy extra large shells to have a regular adult size taco.
It's pretty sad when generic taco shells are better then name brand! Due to the financial state of our bank account lately, our grocery budget has greatly decreased. I have been buying store brand taco shells for the last year or so. I have been greatly surprised by how good their quality actually was. I had a little extra money this month and decided to buy Old El Paso taco shells instead of generic. We had them last night for dinner, and to say I was disappointed was an understatement! The shells were so tiny that it was hard to fill with more than a tiny layer of beef and a little cheese. There was not room for any of them other toppings. That's all the shells would hold. It really irks me, when a large, wealthy company has to squeeze more money out of the public ... MoreIt's pretty sad when generic taco shells are better then name brand! It really irks me, when a large, wealthy company has to squeeze more money out of the public and then deliver with such a poor quality product. Im not sure what you were thinking trying to sneak that in there without the " stupid" public noticing. It didn't work! You can bet I will not waste my money on Any Old El Paso product again !
I always buy these when I make taco. I bought these on yesterday and could not believe the size of these now. They was very very small could barely put other things in the shell because they were extremely very very small. I was so disappointed. I will not buy these again and I will let my family and friends know no to buy these again. I wanted to give this a no stars. Fix the problem. Upset customer.
I have always been a die hard Old El Paso Taco shell consumer. I bought a pack of these and when my son and I opened them tonight, we both started laughing. They are SO SMALL. I wonder when this changed? I saw a few other reviews about this. I can always get a larger size but when you are pinching pennies, every cent counts. I am so surprised by this. I would love to continue eating these but I need a little more bang for my buck. Sucks, I’m really sad to go.
