Old El Paso Smoky BBQ Fajita Dinner Kit 500g

This was awesome! We used this kit to make chicken quesadilla. We didn’t use the sauce because one of our guests was allergic to one of the ingredients there, but the rest was great. Tortillas were soft and very flexible and the seasoning was nice - we added it to chicken. Together with bell peppers, onion and cheese it came out as a classic chicken quesadilla appetizer and everybody really enjoyed it with sour cream and guacamole we served it with.

I really like this kit box. It provides everything you need to make a quick and tasty meal, just add the meat or veg of your choice. I usually add chicken, mixed peppers and onion sometimes. Easy to follow instructions, great for all the family to enjoy.

Great kit, great value for money, contains spice mix, wraps and salsa. I would recommend however to buy some bigger wraps and extra salsa as there isn’t enough in here to be honest however this reflects on the price. Great taste though

Absolutely adore old el paso kits and in particular the Fajita kit. Its simple to make and you can add your own twist (we like it with bacon). Its also mild enough for my 5 year old to enjoy. I cannot recommend enough!

These kits are good but to me, you don’t get much in them for the amount that you pay for them now! The tortillas and sauces are lovely and tasty though, we used to like to get the roasted pepper one from our supermarket although we have stopped buying them now and buy everything separately as then you get more for your money x

We love getting stuck into this all together. It’s fun to make and is really tasty. Kids love getting to make their own too. The wraps are lovely and soft and the spice mix has a delicious smoky bbq taste.

?I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado.? Actually I was asked to review a different kit but it was out of stock and they sent me this so let?s look at this BBQ Fajita kit. These kits are quite expensive for what they but I really enjoyed the BBQ seasoning, it worked well giving those bbq flavours with the shredded chicken thigh I used. The salsa has a clean and tangy taste that worked well in the Fajita. My only negative is that the tortillas were sort of sticking together and peeled apart poorly, not something I normally find when I buy El Paso tortillas on their own so maybe I was just unlucky. I heated the tortillas in the oven and they were fine and the final fajita held together well.

Mouldy tortillas

Used to buy this quite often, it has changed over time but we never were disappointed. Well, until now. We decided to have fajitas while watching the big game tonight, all veg and meat prepared, home made guacamole ready, have just opened the pack to discover that tortillas are mouldy. What a disappointment especially that it's Sunday night and all local shops are now closed. Best before date on the pack 5 months from now.

Nope - disgusting now - what happened?

This used to be a fabulous meal kit - expensive really for what it is, but handy and great for the every other week Friday night speedy dinner. I will not buy this again, as having bought it for easily 15 + years the last 6 or 7 packs have changed and not for the better - in fact I'd say it has even gotten worse! The seasoning, which is what used to make this has changed recipe, its horrible. The fajitas stick together and have a very stale flavour and smell. (Lets not even bother getting into how much they have shrunk over the years!) The salsa used to be fresh and chunky, it's now just a puree type thing. Not too spicy, fun for kids, so tasty

I prefer wholemeal tortillas so I sometimes swap them in. But this is an easy purchase for a tasty meal. I add extras (cheese, lettuce, guacamole, soured cream, jalepinos, peppers, onion, tinned pinto/Mexican beans or a side of spicy Mexican style vegetable rice) to bulk it out and it can easily serve 4 or more . Very filling; I can’t eat more than 2. Love the taste and the whole ceremony of assembling fajitas. Children love them.
