This aircon works very well for a portable. Quite strong. The outlet hose is more flimsy than other ones ive had but once set up that isnt an issue. There are 3 fan settings and I actually would like the low setting to be not as powerful as it is, but on the while it is a good unit. People complain about noise but all portables are noisy, can not be avoided. It is no worse there than others i have had.

This is the fourth Olimpia air con I have purchased. All the exact same brand and HP.Cooling capacity is amazing! Nice steady stream of cool air.Downside is that this little beauty is quite noisy. They reakon only 67 decibels but I would question that.I use mine in a small 30 square metre studio in which I sleep.. it is noisy. IBut you get used to it.I have consistently gotten 3-5 years of good service from each unit.I have used the exhaust horizontally and vertically, as I moved residences . It works well either way.And I dont think its too juicy on the power bill.Go for it!

I would say it's pretty good. Gets the room cold. Helped us during the 40 degree heat. Has dehumidifier and fan. Quiet a noisy unit. If your weak this item ain't for you. You need to empty the water once it's full. Very bulk made for strong man competition, few lifts and your ready for a comp. It has night mode and needs a windows outlet to depose the hear.

We got this set up in the lounge following all instructions, and settled in waiting for the room to cool down. After two hours it felt like nothing was happening, and we were getting a better result from the pedestal fan in the hallway. We got a room thermometer and held it in front of the unit and it showed one degree warmer than the rest of the house! It just blew air around, and it even did that badly. We returned it and the sales staff were very helpful but also said it was technically working, as air was moving, so theyd have to process it as change of mind (and, I presume, put it back out for sale). It does work. I bought this to back up a couple of old not very effective split system units in our beach house. And it works. But its noisier than I expected from previous reviews. The night mode switches off the button lights but doesnt make it any quieter. Also I find it leaks water from the back. I am using it in cooling mode not dehumidifying so the manual says there should be no water but there is. I still think these are small problems compared with the efficiency of the unit. Overall I am happy to live with them.
This is a great option for renters who are unable to install a more permanent solution. It rolls smoothly on the castors (which is good, because it is a bit on the heavier side) and the ventilation kit is easy to install. The only downside is that it can be a little noisy, but it makes up for it by powerfully and quickly cooling my living room.
This airconditioner is extremely noisy. The sleep mode is simply low fan setting and sounds like a plane about to take off, so I cant sleep with it turned on. The ducting has no insulation and gets burning hot! This heats up the room that I am trying to cool down!!! Which is very inefficient and uses far too much power. Paying $998 is a huge waste of money for this product.
I have been in my unit for 2 years without air con and purchased this during a recent heatwave. Its a game changer for me. - Is it quiet No, not at all. But i dont think any of these portable units really are that quiet.But the reason i bought it was for icy cold air conditioning, which it delivers! I have been using it now for just over a month, and i am very very happy with it. Doesnt have fancy features like wifi and things, but it has timers for sleep/wake and thats perfect, cause i can get my room cool so i dont need to run it in full AC mode while im sleeping. I just run the fan and set the time for an hour until ive fallen asleep and its honestly perfect. Very happy with this unit )
Anyone looking for a portable aircon, I know that portables are not the best that the market has to offer, but if you quickly need to get your hands on portable cool air this is it. I have large conjoined living area and in 42 degree heat my family was comfortable. If youre the kind of person who can handle a bit of noise it will keep you cool at night. Good Tip I found is purchase some silver insulation tape from bunnings and wrap up the plastic pipe 70% more heat goes out the window. Im happy with my purchase.
Noisy as you can expect- thats why the engine is fitted outside in permanent AC units- but gosh it does make a huge difference. I can sleep without sweating through the night. I can work comfortably in the day. I have no internal doors so place a fan opposite and it seems to keep the cool air in place....
