I'm new to photography and chose this camera on recommendation from a friend. The appearance and build quality are superb. I appreciate the flexibility of being able to shoot in AUTO as I learn how to shoot manually. The UI is a little daunting, but with practice and quick study of the manual, it's fairly easy to pick up. I love my new hobby and this is the perfect camera for my skill level.

I currently have 12 cameras including full frame, apsc and M43 bodies. The brands include Nikon, Pentax, Panasonic and Sony. This little beauty is the camera I use most often for casual walk-around shooting. I only shoot raw with my other cameras but this produces some of the nicest JPEGS, so it's the only one that I use mainly for JPEGs. The scene modes are effective especially the HDR for landscapes takes care of high-contrast scenes that are difficult to expose properly. The art filters are fun. There are a lot of settings to modify JPEGs. If you shoot raw, use the free Olympus Workspace software to process because it is really written to support Oly bodies best.It is very light and the grip is better than any Olympus except for the E-M1 models. Love this camera and as everyone knows, Panasonic does not have reliable auto-focus—on any of their cameras. As far as photo usage, it works for me. I was looking for compact travel camera with interchangeable lens option. Someone suggested the EM 10 camera. My other choice was the Canon EM 6 M2. I purchased both. The Canon menu system was a breeze, images were fine, portability was great but the viewfinder attachment was not for me...back to B&H it went. The Olympus was the same as the Canon with a couple of exceptions...the overly complicated menu system for a beginner camera. The other reason it went back to B&H...the viewfinder, I know it is a beginner camera, but it is almost unusable. Sadly, it also went back to B&H. I will continue with my G9 until I find my pocket camera. Thank goodness B&H is flexible with returns!

I was looking for a slightly lighter and more compact model to use as a second camera when not shooting in harsh conditions. I will be using this body frequently with my Olympus prime lenses. The grip is excellent with these light, compact lenses. I prefer E-M1 grips for the larger, heavier Olympus PRO lenses.As anticipated, the E-M10 MK II delivers image quality very similar to my E-M1. It also has a nearly indistinguishable feature set. The viewfinder is excellent, plus it has a good touch screen LCD with AF Targeting Pad functionality (almost like a joystick). Focusing consistency did not match the PRO lenses either. For ($) extra, I bought the lens because there may be times when I would like a 4oz. zoom lens on this light camera body.It is a very fun camera to shoot with. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get started with an interchangeable lens system, or someone like myself who got it to complement my other Olympus gear. This kit provides a huge amount of functionality for a small amount of money.
This is a really great camera. I was looking for a mirrorless DSLR with some sort of optical viewfinder and this camera fits the bill. It is light, nice looking and best of all packed with features and the battery is the same one I have for an older Olympus DSLR (which I still use). So with the interchangable battery, it just adds to the value I have received. Highly recommend, takes great pictures.
I upgraded from the MK I to the IV. The grip is better, the plastic body is a little nicer to use in the winter, and yes, image quality is better. That's about it that's good.I miss the premium metal build. The function buttons are less customizable, including a function I used a lot on the previous model. Button adaptability is less intuitive across the different modes. I think they went the route of GM and dumbed down their cheaper models to make the upper models look better. The mark I was a revelation in a small body, the Mk IV is an entry level camera. Shoulda gone with a Fuji or the Ricoh
The E-M10 Mark IV is a great-looking camera that takes amazing photos. I decided on Olympus after I got some photos developed from an old OM-10. They were so good I wanted to get one of Olympus' latest cameras. The 5-axis image stabilization is awesome to have in a camera at this price. With a 20 MP sensor it doesn't seem too behind the times either. Olympus was the first to have the Super Sonic Wave Filter dust reduction which this has. The camera is light and portable but not light on features. Highly recommended!
As a Olympus user, this model was no surprise, living up to Olympus' typically technically excellent products. The model EM10 MkIV is a slight improvement on the last model (MkIII), which was very good on its own. The improvements might not as useful to most shooters. They are 1. Silent mode available in all shooting modes. 2. 20MP sensor ( not that important to me). 3. Improved AutoFocus function. 4. In general, more versatile to the professional shooter who might use it as a back up. While Olympus lists the MkIV as entry level OM-D series, it is only so in name only.
I purchased a Olympus OM-D EM-10 a number of years ago. I was considering replacing the camera and looking at other smaller format cameras for hiking. I have several M-Zukio lenses which influenced my decision to stay with this camera. The body has improved significantly from the earlier versions. The controls are more like a full frame camera and much easier to use. The earlier versions required many setting changes through the on-screen menu (ISO, for example). Of course the sensor is greatly improved and the images are tack sharp from this camera.
I'm using Olympus cameras and lenses for over 10 years. Starting from simple EPL1 all the way to OMD E-M10 Mark II. I jumped from Mark II to Mark IV only because the sensor is 20MP vs 16MP for Mark II and all previous models. I have a wide selection on M4/3 lenses and let my 12 years old daughter to have the test run of the camera. She is a novice in digital photography, but she was able to take amassing shots. I'm very happy with the new features, new specs. Excellent compact camera for home use. I'm not comparing it to the professional cameras which costs $3-5K. Another comment - due to COVID Vietnamese factories are down. I live in Singapore, Singapore warehouses are sold out on this model. I had to order from the US.
